Love the Halloween bag. This pattern would be useful to put any gift in it for a child using fabric to match the hoilday.
Your , HALLOWEEN , Bag is too cute, love that concept. Can be used to sew easy shopping bags
I have great memories of Halloween in the 60’s.

The Halloween bag is adorable but I think I will do some of these for Christmas. The grandkids would love these esp. the little girls. They would also work well for extra Christmas gifts to keep on hand for the mail carrier and the likes. Thank you.

I don't have anyone to make a Halloween bag for but I enjoyed watching you make another bag.
What a perfect Halloween bag, Marie! I may have to make one for myself and go trick or treating! If I keep shrinking, I could easily pass myself off as a kid! I would just tell everyone I’m dressed as an old lady! Have a super duper day, Pretty Lady!
Nancy, I just love your sense of humor

Marie you had me wondering what you were doing there for a moment! Then the magic happens when you turn the bag right side out! This Halloween bag is so cute, easy to make, and also would make a great gift bag or small shopping bag! I have a lot of fat quarters so I will be making a few of these. Thanks for the video Marie, I love watching you!!!🎃👻💀
I've never used a sewing machine in my life. I've inherited one and decided to try using it. I've just made this bag today and it turned out great. Thanks!
You are so welcome! I'm so happy to hear that this was your 1st project. Just keep going... I bet you're doing a wonderful job!
Adding to my last comment; the pattern works for Christmas bags, too! I live in a retirement building, and many ladies like that size bag for carrying small items around with them!❤😊
Yes, it would work with any fabric, for sure! I needed a themed video that week, since it was close to Halloween at the time, so I just happened to make it for Halloween. I bet your ladies WOULD love them - great idea! 💕
I keep returning to this pattern because it's so easy and I've used this in combination with your scrappy charm autumn tote bag to make a gift bag. I'm going to use it for a quilted shoulder tote bag next. Thank you for sharing your ideas and sewing tips with everyone.
Wonderful! I am so happy to hear how helpful you have found this video. You definitely made me smile. Thank you so much for watching and for your comment
Thanks Marie, you always make me smile too. Take care.

You are so welcome! Have a great day!
I like the idea of using the safety pins
It really comes in handy and keeps everything straight. Thank you so much for your comment, Jamie!
Hi Marie, greetings from Melbourne Australia. I love your Halloween Bags, but am also thinking great for Christmas gifts as well. Hope this finds you well.
As always, you inspire me! I think I will make some Halloween bags for 3 little ones in my life! 🎃
I will have to make a couple of these Halloween bags for my great grandchildren
The children seem to love them and they work up so quickly! You could even applique some fussy cut fabric from other halloween prints onto the front to dress them up.
Marie, I’ve always loved Halloween 🕸👻🎃
This is awesome, thanxabunch 👏👏👏

I'm so glad you found the video helpful! They're a quick, fun bag!
Love this bag!!
Thank you! I have quite a few bag tutorials, if you're interested. Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Hi Marie, love your tutorial, to make it easy in turning the straps instead of safety pin I use a straw and a bamboo skewer its easy trick much faster no struggles try it 🤗 just make sure to sew one end side put the straw inside the strap than take the the skewer stick pushing inside bringing it to the other end then pull the rest out walla turned the strap inside out😁😊🤗 the straw makes it supper easy🤩😍
I'm glad you enjoyed this tutorial. As far as the straps go, normally I don't make a strap this way, as they're not my favorite way to go. I like to put batting (or interfacing) inside most straps that I make. I have seen people use that straw method before (with larger straws), but the only straws I have are the little plastic ones for soda and I don't think that much fabric would fit through that. Would it? Now you have me wondering, hahaha.
@@MariesScrappyCreations good morning Marie, love all your tutorials & projects, may I ask where you from are you in connecticut? I want to catch you in one of your live stream ,I'm from the big Apple New York 🤗😁😍 "Bronx" live across the East River from the airport🤗😁🙃love your scissors where did you purchased the most of my scissor don't last me is amazing we have so much in common I have the same sewing table but with one drawer also the light behind the sewing machine love your set up Marie get well soon
Good morning, Ada! Thank you so much, your enthusiasm makes me smile! Normally, I put out a tutorial Sunday mornings at 5 am EST and then on Wednesday at 10 am is my usual live stream of What’s Up Wednesday. I used to film the WUW, but most recently, I have been doing them as a livestream so I don't have to edit, as well as I love to connect with all of my subscribers. It's just been since I have been sick these last 2 weeks that my schedule is way off because I didn't have anything filmed ahead. I actually live in northern Maine, not in Connecticut. Maybe we were talking about Connecticut in a video? Probably the time where my sister-in-law came in to the chat (theyre in CT). I have always wanted to visit New York City, you're so lucky! My husband was born there (in Brooklyn). His mother was from here in Maine and went down there and met a man, had my hubby and then ended up coming "home" a few months later.
@@MariesScrappyCreations Kool that's awesome but, exactly where in Northern main I'm confused 😕 lol 😆 😄 😅
You smashed it out the park again sweetness haha...I have never seen such a neat way of turning a bag. Oh and those pillowcases were our angel outfits, our hot water bottle covers and Santa's sacks lol I'm sure there's many more...sew on with the halloween bag 😃
Yes ma’am nothing like a pillow case! ❤️😀
Halloween
Oh I absolutely love your Halloween bag.
Thank you so much!
Happy Halloween!
Same to you! 🦇🎃
Very nice style 👌
Thank you 😊
I had been searching for a Halloween project, this is perfect!🎃
Glad you like it! Happy sewing!
Marie, I sure hope you're doing better 🙏♥️
I'm trying... the day after I did my What's up Wednesday last week, my husband went into the hospital. So, everything has been crazy around here between him and my Mom.
thank you sew much for this my 2 year old granddaughter is going to be sky from paw patrol and I told her i would make her a trick or treat bag
Aww, I bet she'll make the cutest little "Sky" ever! I'm glad you liked the bag!
Thank you for sharing 🪡🧵👍🏻🤗
You’re welcome! I appreciate you watching and then taking the time to comment afterwards. Happy sewing!
Lovely bag for many purposes, but
I am not crazy about Halloween.
I realize this video is old but I really like this pattern and I want to make quite a few. ?? Finished bag measures approximately 10 x 12 is that about right? Also, those corner stitches to hold the two layers together, are they supposed to end up at the top of the bag or should they end up at the bottom of the bag? Love your video and hope to see more
Hi Linda! I’ve actually made quite a few bag videos and this is a beginner friendly one and quite popular. I’m glad you liked it! When you sew those two parts together, they should end up at the inside bottom of your bag. I show the same method in all my tote bag tutorials, even though I often “box” the corners of the regular tote bags. I hope I was a bit helpful!
I didn't have any little ones trick or treating this year so I have plenty of time to make them for next Halloween. I can probably still find some Halloween fabric on sale
Fabric on sale? You're speaking my language, ha ha!!
Marie did you make your wrist pin cushion if so could you show us how you made it.thanks for sharing your treat bag❤.I am going to make three for the triplets in the family their five years old two girls and a boy they will love them.
Hi Dorothy! Yes, I did make the wrist pincushion and I have a tutorial for it, which I will link at the end of this comment. I’m so glad you enjoyed the Halloween bag and I hope you have a lot of fun making them. I’m sure the children will enjoy them, and be happy that you made them some! Happy sewing!

Very cute! 💜💜💜 AuntieEllen
I want to do this, but my patterns i bought are horizontal... Any tips??
Yikes... yeah, I ran into that too, as I'm sure you saw at the beginning of my video. The only thing I can suggest is if you have enough of the same fat quarters , you could cut them down the middle and piece them together. I hope that makes sense! Best of luck!
That's what I was thinking, and since they're for trick or treating I think being patchy would be cute! Thanks for responding, your video was so helpful in getting me back into one of my favorite hobbies. You are appreciated 💛
Hi marie
Are you from Maine? You said you got that at Marden’s. I’m from Bangor, Maine.
I’m going to make one for my Granddaughter and some for craft fair.
Hi! Yes, I am 🙂 I'm from Augusta, but I live in Aroostook County now. Hello, fellow Mainer 👋
I'm glad you found the video helpful! Have fun sewing 🧵🪡✂️❤️
@@MariesScrappyCreations hello back
I love watching your videos. I'm so tired of youtubers sticking their tongues out at Walmart or joann fabric. I want to say to them
"Not all of us have moda or Riley Blake as sponsors". I've stopped subscribing to anyone that starts sounding like the quilt police. My great grandmother made beautiful quilts using old clothing and flour sacks. Thank you for not being a fabric snob.
Hello, thank you so much for your comment! I have to start with telling you that my grandmother and great grandmother made beautiful quilts with old clothing, as well! At around 7 years of age, I used to sit on the floor by the treadle sewing machine and hand my great grandmother little scraps of clothing that she had cut up into pieces to make crazy quilts. My mom still has three of those beautiful, old quilts. I’m definitely not a fabric snob, ha ha. I shop at a local discount department store that is only in the state of Maine called Mardens. (I actually did a video on it not too long ago). Anyway, the only time I get any brand name or pre-cut fabric is when it’s gifted to me. Talk about pricey!
