A have a v6 because I wasn’t able to afford a v8 and really wanted to get into the Mustang scene. I’m thinking about doing a dual exhaust setup for next year and I would appreciate some help from people that have done it and what’s the best “non-ricer” sound I can achieve. Please no “get a v8” comments, I would have if I could have.
Catted x pipe and any cat back with "shot gun" mufflers, regular chamber muffers wont get the most amount of sound out so you will be good with that but if you have a little extra money headers is a must
This video confirmed a few things about the install I just did on this: The Magnaflow logos go upside-down for some reason on the mufflers. The passenger side pipe hits the driveshaft when the axle is hanging (example going airborne, crossing uneven pavement transition, railroad tracks, etc). And the passenger side over-axle pipe is much closer to the back of the axle than the driver side one, which is fine if you don't have a sway bar but if you've added one that's a problem. This is a great sounding exhaust and the materials quality and hardware is 10/10, but the fit is awful. Now I have to spend $$$ at a muffler shop having it cut and welded to actually fit the car.
Ik this is an exhaust video but I have a question. I have an 04 gt, I'm getting a code for my tps sensor. It's brand new is there any way to adjust it or fix it.? It idles at around 500-750 then dies. Then it will idle at 2000-2500 it's the second tps I've put in same thing.
Karl Hopkins I’m getting no codes and my 04 has died on me recently as well. It has a low idle. Sometimes it will start but then will just die. I cleaned the MAF, and IAC seems to be ok as well. I’m just so lost and don’t know where to look.
MatafiedGaming I'm lost too. I've put on a new intake manifold, new maf housing, new iac, new hoses for the vacuum lines, and the new tps. Still won't idle or run properly i either have no throttle or it have the slightest bit of throttle.
@@BlueOvals24 The old pushrod 5.0 Mustangs were around roaming the streets. Last year for that engine was 1995. So, they weren't that old when these New Edge V6 Mustangs came out in 1999.
No, it actually isn't. A single 2.5" pipe will easily flow all of the exhaust gasses that a 3.8 liter engine making 190 horsepower at 5,250 rpm can produce. That's a mathematical fact. The stock "Y-pipe" system is designed the way it is for a performance-oriented reason and isn't simply a case of "cheaping out" on Ford's part. Merging both banks of cylinders into a single 2.5" outlet promotes high gas velocity across the entire operational rpm range of the engine. The faster the gas moves through the system, the faster more gas molecules can replace them. That's also a fact.
V6’s are a shame like when ppl see my 5.0 some of em are like oh its a v6 right i get so pissed lmfaooo same goes with my supersnake they think i just have “ricer” components on it facepalms everywhere
Mike Gomez What exhaust videos have you heard? This exhaust sounds super echoey and ricey with more displacement. I mean the EcoBoost says it's a 4 banger no denying that it only sounds like trash if you compare it to a v8. It sounds beautiful set up right. Anyways who cares about exhaust. Do you have a 2015 and up mustang?
Mitchell Fuqua yeah I owned an ecoboost before I had my GT man so I know what it's like to live with the 2.3 and now owning this coyote I'm never going back. The sound was horrid and nowhere near the sound a v6 makes. Although it made decent power id give it that but sound forget it
Truthfully there's really nothing wrong with the v6 mustang I thought same thing for years until I bought one I thought as well it's not a mustang etc etc but really all of that is just straight elementary bullshit look at it like this it's immature people who think they can race the world and win without proper mods so to speak, the v6 can be tuned just as much as the v8 if it's done right but this is coming from a grown man so if don't like the oh well idgaf get over it -I'm out
My 2002 is far from trash. The engine is a long lasting engine. Unless you bought that was already trashed. Lol. Half of the people on here are immature babies who probably don't even own a mustang or even own a car.
Gee Mann Yeah and your 5.0 wouldn't be able to keep up with an Ecoboost. Why are people so upset by fewer cylinders on the same car? We all know the v8 is faster and sounds better stock. But who cares about stock? More room under the hood of a v6 for big turbos. Most of the early Mustangs had I6 anyways
@@BlueOvals24 A supercharged/turbocharged V8 has greater power potential and they sound amazing. Forced induction on a V6 is a waste of time and money.
Obviously a forced induction v8 will be more powerful than an N/A v6 but the Ecoboost is easily outselling the 5.0 so and is cheaper than a forced induction 5.0 so it's clearly not a waste of time or money.
@@BlueOvals24 Of course the EcoBoost outsells Coyote trucks, because Ford manufactures more EcoBoost trucks than Coyote trucks. The potential and peak of boosted V8 is much higher compared to boosted V6. More reliable too.
I got this magnaflow catback exhaust at the junkyard in like new condition. I wanna put it on my v6 mustang but the other half "y" shaped part that goes up to the manifold I didnt have. Which one is that? Newbie here need assistance lol or can my local muffler place can figure this out for me?

Do a true dual exhaust setup 👏
Nice presentation, thank you.
Thanks for watching! -Zach
A Mustang Is a Mustang To Me... V8 or Not
Jonathan Calderon Just needs a manual. And the Ecoboost ones aren't too bad
Ight I'ma put a Toyota straight 6 in it then
Exactly

Make sure you buy Super Series 40's mufflers from flowmasters, trust me, i had a v6 mustang and did it to mines & it sound real nice.
Armando Deleon Just do straight pipe.
Not legal were i live
Armando Deleon oh my😮
Sounds better than a V8

Pretty sad how assholes only clicked on this video to talk shit on v6's when they don't even own a car themselves
If you get the high flow cats and x pipe then you get a much better sound out of these mufflers
gotta sound clip?
I have this and after 5000 rpm my car pops
Wym pops
@@kraze2475 actually 3000 rpm, but my exhaust pops like popping sounds
Do exahaust tips help the sound at all ?

Both of those sixxers breaking up like they have a missfire

do i need a 2 1/2 inch inlet and outlet
She cute
No offense but it’s still a V6 and it still sounds like a V-6 nothing like the 5.0 rumble

And people talk crap about ecoboosts? Give me a break..
Mitchell Fuqua yeah it’s actually the V6 engine not the ecoboost, people never notice
The real Brendon what?
Ecoboost still sounds like Garbage with an exhaust man, this on the other hand is quiet and maintained

Tony B you need a y-pipe. They sell a magnaflow y-pipe on the site but they are all very expensive to replace. Like $400+
