Just discovered your channel. This is soo exciting, watching your adventures! Thank you for all the effort and letting us come along! Best youtube channel I have seen
Hey matty! Loving the content my good sir. Im buying a canoe this week and going to start gearing up to do abunch of long distance canoe trips and eventually build up to doing a trip up the south Nahanni river into the Nahanni valley in a few years time. Watching lots of your canoe videos has been amping me up, cant wait to hit the water!
In the 70's my parents moved to the middle of the wilderness in the Yukon and built a cabin in the summer months. They slept in a tent, had dogs for protection, salvaged things from an army dump and thrived. It still stands today but has passed through many owners.
Subed ya pals channel he's the real deal also.Wish he had of stayed with you even just for safety you are the kind if ya get hurt you wont call for help.
Dude, so stoked to see you back!!!!! Just thought about you the other day wondering if you were gonna put out another video series, haven't heard from you in about a year it seems, looking forward to what you produced.
Been reading about the goings on yer having on the CBC man. Beyond bummed to hear parts of what went on. Stoked on the new skote though man. Glad to see you are still after the good life. 🤘 Stay frosty big fella
I support your fight for the right to be in the forest there. A forest lived in, not just extracted from like our current policy demands, is better managed always.
Just started watching your videos after reading about you. I tried to fix up an old hay barn in the mountains of Colorado in 1977 to live in, the government wouldn't let me. Now at 66 I have a nice little home in the mountains of Vermont with a family of beavers living 300 feet behind my house. Your doing what I wanted to do when I was your age, looking forward to see what you do up there. Be careful, I've spend time in your neck of the woods, as amazing as it is it is unforgiving as well.
Good question! It's a major pain in the ass.. you can see in this trailer I'm carrying two solar pannals in hand. Also two 160w jackery battery packs. As for the cold... alot of time spent swapping batteries out for warm ones which I would keep near my skin In a fanny pack
@@skoteoutdoors I have been canoeing for a while (last summer's trip, if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/YsOkFWLHA_4/w-d-xo.html), but you inspired me to get my A into G so I signed up for a few courses, building up to whitewater. I've always wanted to paddle to the coast and I intend to follow your lead!
Hey chum, glad to see you back in the wild. You seem to have a couple of partners in your new adventure looking forward to it. Thanks for letting me come along.
What haters? The guy literally just decided to build a house on indigenous land without telling anyone, failing to apply for any permits, having no permission to cut down trees etc and even had the nerve to ask to stay for ‘tourism’ so he ‘could make a little bit of money’ whilst saying he sees himself as a steward/protector of the land 🤣😭 He’s an idiot
holy camoly your cutting down fresh tree's and carrying them off must weight a ton lol i thought u could cut em let them dry then come back when they weight half as much.
That would have been nice, wouldn't of heard me complain about using dry logs. I would have needed to cut them in early spring and have stacked and peeled to be proper dry come fall.
Your videos are some of the best content on the internet. So cool to see what you guys were up to. Couldn't believe you made the national news. If anything, more light on your case is a good thing. Everybody is pulling for you. Cool to see deej in there too.
Keep on keepin' on. Good to see you gain a thousand followers in the last month. I only found your channel because of the news article earlier this month.
I'm so looking forward to watching the new content, I was worried there wouldn't be any more after reading about what happened with the local government. Don't let em grind you down, sir
Be careful what you post. Sadly It's almost impossible to post video of one's self enjoying the landscape in this country without providing the government with some sort of evidence of a law being broken.

Keeping the landscape on Earth undisturbed and pristine is essential for healthy survival of many animals. This protected biodiversity is what will keep humans alive. If we let humans alter or inhabit anywhere they want then eventually the delicate balance of the environment will lead to the animals dying out. If that happened then eventually humans would slowly become the only living thing on the planet.
@@Dj992Music Well I live in a remote rural area where we live on the landscape and nature is all around us as a part of normal everyday life. We are not removed from it the way urbanites are and as a result we don't fetishize it the way the city dwellers do. we hunt it animals, fish it's waters, and gather it's resources as a way of life. That often involves breaking laws made by city people with no connection to the land at all. There are so many laws and regulations pertaining to being on the land that it is almost impossible to follow them all perfectly. For example: while sitting on shore fishing and enjoying a sunny afternoon if you drink a beer you are breaking the law. Well everybody breaks that law because it is stupid and unreasonable.
I disagree. Risk/reward right? But what do I know. I was just born on this planet... Along with all the species who probably would be fine without us. Or miss us.
