NOW the camper is starting to feel like HOME.

  • It's pretty darn amazing how just a few panels has completely changed this camper! Yes, the trade-off to that is that there is some additional weight with all of the plywood. But admittedly, it's the trade-off I chose to make. With living in this full-time, I wanted it to feel incredibly welcoming. I wanted it to feel like home. We are all on our way to accomplishing that goal.
    The walnut facing is a Wilsonart high pressure laminate.

    Really enjoyed watching this project come along.
    I would have made that bottom row at the very back where the space it wedge shaped, tip out bins. Good for hamper, socks etc.

    Nice job! I am happy for you that this is turning out so well. I am not surprised but am proud and happy. I just received a book I ordered of Ansel Adams photos of the National Parks. I kept thinking, "Someday soon Babs is going to be out there looking at these things in person. As a side note, it is possible for me to be both happy for you and jealous at the same time. Suggestion: If you are ever going to be in "bear country", you might want to buy and have an inexpensive, portable electric fence kit to put around your camper. These kits are not very big and they don't weigh a lot. They were invented to protect airplanes in Alaska. I would hate to see a bear sink it's claws into all your thoughtful siding work. One time I had a bear try to get into a cabin I was living in. At first I thought it was Big Foot. It is a pretty funny story. Up until that moment I had never believed in Big Foot. Living alone in the forest will do that to you.

    • @BadassBrunette
      @BadassBrunette  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the smile! Another fine gem of a comment. I, too, have had an experience that gave me pause in my belief in Big Foot. To this day, I have no idea what large upright creature walked past my truck one night in the Eastern Sierras. It surely wouldn't have happened if I'd had that fencing! I just may need to look into that idea...

    • @colinkelley6493
      @colinkelley6493 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BadassBrunette If you were anywhere near California, your "upright creature" could have been the legendary Deputy Sheriff Elbert Miller walking in his sleep again. He believes in and chases Big Foot in his dreams. The way you can tell if it is Elbert, is you will hear him softly snoring as he walks by. He is like a pinball machine bouncing from thing to thing while he is sleep walking. I am pretty sure he is the one -- he tried to drive his police car in his sleep. He claims Big Foot stole it and did not know how to drive. If Big Foot has existed all these years without getting caught. I am pretty sure Big Foot is smart enough to figure out how to drive.

    Y’all should have considered using a roll of iron on edge banding, soo much faster than glueing on individual cut strips

    • @BadassBrunette

      Would have certainly been nice. Didn't want to stress over ordering and getting the correct color matching and all that. Using it how we did, it's an exact match.
