I once had a new 2547, I liked the radio except for the limited sound filters. I sold it and bought a RCI 2995 DX CF I also purchased a Timewave DSP-9 which has pretty good filtering for the price. Both the 2547 and the RCI2995 were built by reputable radio technicians, not cheap but worth every penny. I might have kept the 2647 if I had purchased the DSP-9 before I got rid of it.
I have one as well and like it for what it is. Mine is stock and decided i wont add the 2 switches on it but did consider it. The freq readout moving slightly bugs me as well :) 73
I can honestly say that this one wasn't so bad after a real alignment. I literally talk to my friend who was running an Aries 2 (that we all know a spot on frequency) for 1 hour straight without any problems. He never once said I drifted.

I don't think you really need to add the switches to it.
Honestly the extra frequencies are not needed.
Good for am or waving a hand on 38
I've seen channel selectors destroyed if the plastic fragments drop inside the selector when drilling. Drill upside going slow.
Good to know.
I was very careful.
Keep in mind Mike, if you ever change your mind on selling that 2995 you have, let me know.
I need to get mine fix. Can you fix it for me? Please let me know
Show us the splatter
My 2547 is way off when on SSB. I hear them but they say I am way off.
It just needs to be aligned properly.
Those are nice looking radios. Do they have anywhere near the coverage of like a Anytone?
There's probably mods you can do to the PLL but the P5P6 I think gives you up to 27855 and down to 26515 maybe maybe less on the lower side.
How is it straight out of the box ?
Straight out of the box I would normally expect it to be quite a bit off frequency and have somewhat lower AM modulation.
I don't want nothing with the name of galaxy ranger Conex or anything like that. Because all they do is drift on sideband

There is no FM on this radio ?
@@andik859 nope before FM was allowed for CB here.
I think if you put that clarifier back to stock you find it becomes a drifter but hey what do i know
