This trailer is so fucking epic, i keep watching over and over again and it never stops being awesome. The way Kaz says "Snake... why took you so long?", omg... and that soundtrack, that Kiefer Sutherland narration (i know it's not David Hayter but its still great) just makes me freeze myself right now and unfreeze when this game release. Can't wait anymore
MGS3 was my first MGS game and I absolutely loved it. I love Kojima's love for a cinematic feel that he brings to the game and their cutscenes. Just by seeing these trailers, MGS5 looks like it will be one of the biggest cinematic experiences you'll have on next gen consoles.
The game really did live up to its name. I can still feel the hype these trailers made me feel and I can still feel the disappointment when so much from the trailers just never transitioned to the story. This looked like it was going to be the best metal gear cinematic story and it ended up being the opposite.
There will no doubt be many small gems throughout the entirety of this console generation - the "indie" market has only become more interesting over recent years - but with regard to AAA game development, I don't see enough of a focus among publishers in attempting to consistently raise the bar and deepen their gaming experiences, whether they be new ideas or long-existing franchises (most AAA development these days revolves around refining a general concept repeatedly until it's no longer profitable to do so). There are very few industry members who are as ambitious (or, perhaps, given the opportunity to fulfill their ambitions) as Kojima and his team, with even fewer exhibiting similar degrees of expertise and skill in their field. Now that KojiPro is set become defunct beyond the release of TPP, we don't know what the future of game development will hold for Hideo and his closest staff (though hopefully they'll continue to go on to do great things), but it does seem unlikely that they will be given the opportunity to make a game on this grand a scale again - I do hope that I'm wrong though.
+Jeff Hocker I think it's spectacular. I love the immense attention to detail, the scope of the world and its inhabitants, the era and its locales. I think its cast of characters are now in my top spot just slightly behind MGS1, and the voice actors and facial animators did a superb job in bringing them to life. The cutscenes, though arguably too few (but I'd rather too few than too many), are easily the most visually stunning in their choreography that I've ever witnessed in a game. And then there's the gameplay, which is so varied and open for replayability that I have yet to find myself getting bored just messing around with the game's vast mechanics and challenging AI. Though I won't deny the game has its share of flaws that should not be overlooked, it still stands head and shoulders above all the other Metal Gear Solid entries in terms of sheer ambition, and even more so when compared against anything else in modern AAA gaming, at least short of what Rockstar is capable of creating. Even the fact that the game remains narratively incomplete to me is not a detriment to its overall quality and depth, and in its own way serves to add another layer of interest to this game and the story of its production as we now know it. I don't honestly know if another game on the PS4 will top the amount of enjoyment I've gotten from my time playing MGSV, but even if that something does come along, I still recognize that any game of this quality is a very rare and special thing, and so I expect The Phantom Pain will remain of great significance to me for a very long time regardless of what may eventually match or surpass its ambition in the future. And that, in all honestly, is what I wanted all along from this game.
Because the phantom pain is a disorder which is when you feel a lost limb. Its accounting on the things Big Boss lost at the end of ground zeroes and peace walker
I can't stop rewatching this trailer, it's as addictive as the MGS2 Tanker trailer PSM gave away on VHS. I watched that so much the tracking messed up, lines everywhere! Oh Kojima-san you know how to make an amazing trailer! :D
Things ive managed to piece together so far. Quiet is the mother of Sniper Wolf, the weapon she is carrying is a predecessor to the PSG1 and also SniperWolf is born the year Phantom Pain takes place. A theme in this game is 'Family'. Onto the bit 'Eli' is Liquid Snake...apart from thr introduction he also has a Snake rested on his knee, look closer before he crossed his legs. Chico is still alive after his is rescued from that POW camp. The scene when they remove that pulsing package from that
"We we're still here ? just to suffer ? every night I can feel my leg, my arm even my fingers. The body I've lost the comrades I've lost.. won't stop hurting. Its like their all still there . You feel too don't you ?! I'm gonna make them give back our past !" Amazing words from a fallen Legend . cant wait to feel these words while playing the game ..
Big Boss is using a mechanical hand that is similar to what one of the characters used in Peace Walker, I can't remember, but it was the same hand with a finger that can be used as a lighter.
We actually don't know very much at all about it. Campbell wasn't the one to find it, he just heard about it and then relayed the info to us. It was Richard Ames who sent an unknown agent to find the body. It was also never determined how he died. Ames was also of course working for the patriots
Watching Metal Gear Solid trailers is a daily routine for me for each game released. It's seriously the only series I can think of with trailers so incredible. Sure, there are good trailers, but MGS trailers are in their own league. Kojima edits them himself, you know.
I am pretty sure that the man with the beret is Kaz. He is wearing a Diamond Dogs logo on the beret, his left leg seems thinner than the other (probably prosthetic), you can't make out his right arm because the sleeve is flattened (where Kaz lost a limb), he has a similar hair color to Kaz, and the sunglasses are, if not almost identical to what Kaz usually wears.
"Ocelot specialized in infiltrations of a different nature than Solid Snake and Big Boss, often acting as a double agent, or even a triple agent, serving multiple interests in the same situation" that's what we already know about him, and we don't even need that for the theory to hold up
Barely caught this, but at 2:39 when the camera is changing over to Kaz, for a brief second you see something that could either be the walkman Skullface gives Chico in the GZ trailer, or maybe even the bomb (assuming that's what it was) that Skullface (not confirmed, but I strongly suspect he did it based on dialogue in the GZ trailer) planted in Paz.
Why are we still here? Just to suffer? Every night...I can still feel my leg and my arm, even my fingers. The body I've lost, the comrades I've lost...won't stop hurting, it's like they're all still there. You feel it too don't you? I'm gonna' make them give back back our past"
There's a reason when you type Kaz Miller in to google the 2nd suggestion is "Kaz Miller is Ocelot". It's because it's a widely speculated theory and has been since the introduction of the character in peace walker.
That's fair. It definitely can't be proven but I find it surprising that it can't be disproved in an absolute way yet if we assume that Decoy is the bandaged man. I started talking about it days ago with not a lot of ammo but I've been reviewing and researching it as i go along and I wasn't expecting it to stand it's ground like it has. I can understand how the presence of Decoy seems like a big "if" to some but it's like who else could that be? He fits the description, unless it's another clone
Actually, Kaz and Miller are the same person. It is revealed during the MGS Peacewalker timeline credits before the ending credits after the true ending. Tthe end of the timeline credits say that Kaz with the name 'Miller' was found assassinated by an unknown assailant in 2005, confirming that Kaz is Miller.
With prosthetic limbs during the time of mgs1 who knows since things can look real. But Ocelot did have gloves in that game too. All sorts of factors come into play when you start talking prosthetics, especially in regards to someone who is already changing his body in drastic ways to fit a disguise. It's kinda weird how Kaz has a new leg but it looks like his arm isn't replaced yet for whatever reason
The end call of peace walker where a supposed Kaz talks to Zero exactly like Ocelot talks to people in his 'end calls' from the other games, with a similar sounding voice and tone. Among several other clues. The presence of them being in the same room briefly here takes it (the theory) for a real spin, but considering Decoy Octopus is speculated to be in the game, it still holds weight. Given that we know Decoy and Ocelot are atleast associated later in mgs1
Timeless trailer!! I remember being blown away seeing it back in 2013. Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain is an absolute masterpiece, Hideo Kojima truly outdid himself, the world is so detailed, graphics, sound design all top notch, a joy to explore, while the gameplay is just so much fun! I have played the game for hundreds of hours and still never get bored, so much fun and incredible replay value, one of my all time favorite games. 👏👏👏👏
Every night I can feel the hype, the gameplay, even the story. You feel it too dont you?
Love this
Hideo Kojima I love you so much, thank you for making the best games and trailers ever!
Yes sir
This trailer is so fucking epic, i keep watching over and over again and it never stops being awesome. Cant bloody wait for this game, Kojima is a visionary~!!
In my entire life I have never been so hyped for a game. And Kojima knows how to do that, this trailer is just too perfect.

I'm calling it. Best game of this console generation.
Jeff Hocker almost depressing to think that it just barely began and it's already reached it's peak

+Jeff Hocker What are your thoughts about this game now?

Big Boss and Solid Snake the Bests ^^ forever MGS
This will hands down be the best game to ever exist.
I can see why this game was named "The Phantom Pain"...
Because the phantom pain is a disorder which is when you feel a lost limb. Its accounting on the things Big Boss lost at the end of ground zeroes and peace walker
VesTriBang and Snake Eater
I just can't stop rewatching this trailer, however the more I rewatch, the more Kaz sounds like Big Boss...
I see a lot of torture in this game. O__o
well its war soooo yeah ._.
You mean just like every MGS game ever?
I can't stop rewatching this trailer, it's as addictive as the MGS2 Tanker trailer PSM gave away on VHS. I watched that so much the tracking messed up, lines everywhere! Oh Kojima-san you know how to make an amazing trailer! :D
All I hear is:WOOOOOHAAAAAAA........WOOOOOOHAHAHAHAHAHAOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHHOHOH.
Love this trailer.
Lol...
reading this while re-watching the trailer.. I'm dying lol
Damn, I really wanted Paz to pay, but that is kinda fucked.
Oh she definitely paid.
***** she paid in a way that many of us felt a bit sorry for her
This and Mirror's Edge 2 were the brightest stars in this year's E3.
Thank you, Kojima-san.
This trailer is terrifying, tear-inducing, and god damned beautiful.
Metal Gear saga has always been something special and this is no exception - jeez people this is NEXT GEN !
The segment in the beginning where Kaz is talking about his missing limbs is really really powerful shit

One of the best trailers ever! If not the best.
This is going to be the best mgs yet

We are almost there...
5 MORE LONG ASS DAYS :(
Chico from Peace Walker. This was confirmed back when we seen the first Ground Zero's trailer

Actually there's no word to describe how good it is, but yeah.. awesome comes pretty close.

Anyone notice that this is also the best Seiko watch commercial ever made?
Why are we still here? Just to suffer? Every night...I can still feel my leg and my arm, even my fingers. The body I've lost, the comrades I've lost...won't stop hurting, it's like they're all still there.

Felt like watching a movie can't wait .

We never saw Master Miller's full body appearance, so we don't know if he ever had any limbs gone until now.
Cool. Thank you, I haven't got the true ending just yet. But sure I'll will.
September 1 in my VEINs! Bring it, Kojima-San :)
A weapon... to surpass Metal Gear?
Now THAT's chilling.
Dude I've watch this trailer like 5 times a day since July 11th.

Mine too brother... I know this is a big statement but this just might go down as the best video game in history.
yes the theory still includes all those details
