How To Pack Photography Gear On Flights Checked in & Carry On Luggage

The ways I get my photography gear on the plane with me efficiently and safely. Travelling with expensive camera gear can be a concern, but these are the ways I have been able to successfully navigate the airline system so far. Please comment or leave suggestions below.. love to hear your experiences:

Thank you Tom for your advice. Traveling with Camera, lenses and Aquatech water housing, domes and big flat port need to be perfectly organized. Still not use a pelican bag for the housing because it's too heavy, I prefer to make custom PU protection, put everything inside my checked luggage and hope for the best. The perfect packing setup it's a never ending project. 😉

Yeah for sure I agree... its a constant trial and error process... yeah the pelican cases are big but with all that gear I carry it still comes in around 20kgs so under the 23kg limit for most airlines... I have also at times left the pelican case at home and taken just one housing and one port and packed carefully in my suitcase and this has also worked... just got do the best with what you have got, but I do like taking as much as I can on carry on luggage with me

You mention the Tenba Axis V2 24L bag. Has anyone tried the 32L version of this bag. It's marginally bigger - do the airlines check the exact measurements?
