Thank you, John! As much as I’ve wanted to take my lighting gear with me when visiting relatives, I didn’t know what case to get. Additionally, I DID NOT want to have to pay the huge fee to check that case in! Now I know and I’m going to join ASMP(?) to get that card!

You don't carry light stands and C-stands with you?
The studios I rent usually have them, I get them from an assistant or I rent them. Often times the cost of a third bag is more than the renta fee and its a lot easier to navigate without them.
Do you take the bulbs out of your strobes?
No
would you ever check your cameras and lenses?
When I was a sports photographer I traveled with four cameras and big lenses so I checked some of that gear. But I wouldn’t do it today because the items are too fragile and expensive.

Just a tip, if you happend to shoot in Latin America, you should pack also an "Automatic Voltage Regulator" for your ELC 500 TTL.. they are quite sensitive to voltage variations and power outages...
November of 2021, two of my ELC 500 TTL Blow Up when the entire building that i was in suffer a short power outtage.. when de power come back it blow both fuses and burn out a chipboard...
Ironicly the RX4 400Ws , that i have also brought to that shoot... didnt break a sweat... they continue working just fine... finish my work with those..
Fortunely for me.. i manage to repair those ELC 500 TTL in the Elinchrom Service Center in Bogota, Colmbia... and was realative cheap repair..

@@JohnGress it cost me 80$ to repair each light from the damage of the power-surge... i was so glad that it wasnt more than that... love my Elinchrom lights...
