Wow. I like Ron. No one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes but everyone has to work and do something with their time. Why not sell your own products on TV? It looks like it worked out for him.
This guy is an icon of his generation. My coworkers are half my age and never heard of him but guys like Billy Mays so had to fill them in by sending a link to his GLH!!! But Ron (and his dad) were the true pioneers of infomercials and will always be the king!
Fascinating! Thought I'd never heard of him til I heard 'Ronco' mentioned! I'm here bc of an episode of King of Queens, 'Strike Out'.."set it and forget it ..and stayed for the story! Thanks, from lockdown London England ✌
Growing up I watched the Showtime bbq infomercial countless times as a kid. I always just assumed it was gimmicky junk that probably didn't actually work, but I enjoyed the entertainment of it and I always enjoyed watching Ron. To learn all these years later that countless people actually used it and see people's comments and hear that his products actually work well makes me so happy.
As crazy as this sounds, I seen him about 5 years ago at our clubhouse, he had a amazing looking young blonde with him, I thought I recognized him, and she confirmed it when she introduced him to me as Ronnie. He had on a baseball cap and I'm guessing a wig or toupee, since it seemed a bit dark for a older guy. He was just kinda quiet as he hung out and enjoyed the party.
he was really damn handsome back in his teen & 20s as i see here WOW ..i have couple of Rotisserie for over a decade now & still works ...Rip my man , U brought the joy & watched many many times of ur ads in late nights back in my college years in 90s
What would you expect to pay for a young nubile wifey? You were probably thinking $5 million... But it's much less! You won't pay $4 million, or even $1 million... Before I tell you the price... There's more... If you order today you get a built in bun oven! Now what would you expect to pay?... If you order inn the next 10 minutes, It comes with coupons to redeem for scheduled obstetrician appointments! Not only that, ... This beauty cooks, cleans, doesn't complain and looks forever good looking... Now what would you pay?... Call the toll free number right now... Operators are standing by with a price too low to advertise...
Every item ive gotten from Ron Popeil has been top notch👌. I still use the Ronco Rotissetie oven all the time. I wouldn't use nothing else
He speaks s l o w l y and with a deep voice. People like that. You can hear his sincerity. This builds trust with the audience.

Rest in Peace! You brought us great products!
Ron Popeil was an amazing guy.
Inventor of Mr. Microphone, the spray-on toupee and, of course, the technology to keep human heads alive in jars. But wait, there's more!

I've been seeing Ron Popeil since he worked the floor at Woolworths in downtown Chicago, hawking gadgets from a stand-up table.
Fascinating! Thought I'd never heard of him til I heard 'Ronco' mentioned!

R.I.P Ron. Love your infomercials
I do miss Ron Popeil and his Infomercials.
Me too.
@sick2biscuit An irreplaceable part of American history.
I always loved watching his infomercials overnights in college that would run 3x a night on different stations

Rest in peace Ron...I'm going pocket fishing...

I got his knives and his pasta maker, love them
Cue Brian's story where he kicks in neighbor's door after a Showtime Rotisserie catches fire, filling the co-op with smoke.
Happy 80th Birthday Ron

He made a mistake by going up instead of down, from 250 to 260.
I have the pocket fisherman and its awesome. Looks dumb, works amazing.
No bigger visionary except, perhaps, Steve Jobs....RONCO NATION!
He has a similar voice to paul stanley.
No, he has a similar voice AND appearance to Wink Martindale.

Ahhh, time to sit back and enjoy the #EconomicRoost
I love Ron’s stuff but there is a major flaw with that fryer. Olive Oil is expensive as hell. Props to the producer who used the Weird Al RonCo tune
I didn't even know he passed away, no publicity was made last year.
"The youngest is 11"
God damm, she could be his grandfather not father....
i am not at all surprised he has been married so many times. he always struck me as a scheister a crook...i dont know why...
