Should be using pressure-treated on your bottom plate

Your video helped me a lot! Just seeing the ceiling-banding and soffits was a huge help!! Question... Do i necessarily need to have return vents in the room I build in my basement?

Fantastic instructional video! What did you use to bolt your 2 x 4s down into the concrete floor?

Great job framing bro. Can't wait to see the finished product. I starting mine in the spring and was wondering which model Bosch laser lever you are using?

Thanks ! The Bosch laser model is GLL 2-45. I'll be uploading the finished project video in a few days

J0Boa Thanks for the quick response. I was looking at that model & the GLL2-50. Did you have to shim the entire ceiling to get it flat? If so how difficult a task is that. I have some ceiling joist that seem to be off about 1/4" to 1/2" in some places.

axetail Yes that is the same laser with a different bracket. I did shim a small area and the soffit on one side but other than that when you install the strapping on the ceiling and the sheetrock will compensate for small deviations of 1/2 or so of the joists and will not be noticeable once everything is mudded and sanded. Good luck with the project and check out my video of the finished basement !

hotmail1929 Just either put a plastic barrier on the framing, like we have done commercially. And use a water resisiant drywall. Just call you local, metal framing supply. Oh yeah, use metal, not wood,. Like this fool

I am sure that you will find good way to make it on woodprix Webpage.

never use plastic vapor barrier because if that shit ever gets wet it will never dry and mold
