Hello, you guys that was great work. Thank you for sharing. Just was wondering what part of California are you guys are in northern California or Southern California ??
New subscriber. Putting in a 6' sliding patio door in place of a 32"x60" window. Would i need to put in a new header across the entire door? Window already has a 32" header. Enjoyed your tutorial and thanks for your help.
I want to do same thing to an old house built 1949 this house has old wooden frame glass windows double pane with storm screens..any advice for me I am building incline but Considering the age of my house what would be best advice..? My window is 82in high to the floor and 68 width in stud to stud..what size of window would i need..?? Thank you in advance for you advice and help. I can provide u with pics of the old window.
That was a massive improvement to the look as well as a noticeable bump in the home's value. Is this your personal home or a customer? I'm familiar with how to replace windows in a stucco home but it didn't occur to me that a sliding door would be so little extra work -- if the width is kept the same as the old window. If you don't mind me asking, where does one buy windows or doors if doing their own DIY install and how much does a slider door like this cost? I live in Oakland, CA so competent contractors are very few, very hard to find, and to do do a one-off window or slider replacement in stucco is very expensive. It's not worth a contractor's time to do a one-off window or door unless they charge FU pricing.
We have a question: Why no flashing? We live in Oregon, and wonder, is flashing something we need to do, should do or not? thank you. We will be DIY-ing our conversion.
Gracias for the video, looking forward to doing this for my home. Just curious though, ruff estimate of what would someone charge to do something like this? Looking forward to seeing more of your content! God bless you and yours!
It took one day for the demo & sliding door install. What took most of our time was the electrical, stucco and inside wall finish 3 days. Then the 4th day just to paint. Thanks for the visit
Damn 80% of the people asked the same question instead of just reading a little. lol Nice job sir, The question i have since we didnt see how you did it. Do you have to flash the top bottom and sides? or is it not necessay thanks in advance!
Hi looking to covert window to sliding door. How much would someone charge for a job like this. How much would I be looking to pay? 5 ft x 5 ft to 10 ft sliding door?

Hi looking to covert window to sliding door. How much would someone charge for a job like this. How much would I be looking to pay? 5 ft x 5 ft to 10 ft sliding door?
$350-$800
Oh sweet! Is that just for labor not including the actual cost of material
Thanks again for the reply
Very nice work. Around $2,000?
That is correct
Thanks 🙏 I’m planning to do the same thing. 💪🤡👍
Best of luck!
Do you remember how big the hole you cut was?
The same as the window
Wish this was more detailed. Ugh.
thanks for the visit
Bad work in the stucco!!! At least you guys need to cut 6 in around the door, not 2-3 inches!
thanks for your expert advise
Yeah because your supposed to put flashing, then paper, wire, scratch coat. They’ll be long gone before it leaks in 5 years. Lol
@@electriclife158
So what you are saying is that they should quote 1200 for labor? instead of 700?
Is it just me or did he not put a header in I thought all exterior walls were load bearing
windows have them
