Purple Sceptile Don't worry, it happened to me as well. Actually it happened to a lot of people, putting spikes at the end was truly evil... not as much as path of pain, but still, evil.
On a practice run, I got hit by the first spiky vines in the last room a few times. When I actually did it I got it in my first try. My tip is to lightly tap your jump button so that you do a small jump towards the platform, and then dash.

If you get hit, dreamnail back to the Grey Mourner BUT DON'T SIT ON THE BENCH, as long as you don't sit most enemies won't respawn and you can go through the clean path again untill you succeed. @Pedro Moraes What do you mean? The vast majority of bosses in Hollow Knight are completely fair and it's only up to you to learn their patterns. Bosses aren't supposed to be beaten first try if you have no idea what it does, unless you have a good enough reaction time. As prime examples of this I'll take Hornet, Mantis Lords and Nightmare King Grimm. The 3 best bosses in the game, atleast how I see it. They give clear visuals of what attack are they gonna throw at you, and you learn to dodge it, until it's a breeze through. I noticed this in my second run, where I killed almost every boss in 1-3 attempts. The only bosses I don't like are the Dream Warriors, their attacks are repetitive and some are really unfair cause there's no way you can dodge. Also the Oobobbles. I hate those things.

Literally just finished this quest, probably one of the most anxiety inducing things when you reach the last bit where you have to dash and jump and not hit the thorns.
Smart: I just practiced there until I felt confident I could make it reliably (like a dozen times) before getting the flower. At that point you usually get so stressed for being so close you're very likely to mess up.
Your stories is good but I arrived at the place to deliver the delicated flower, without being hit after half an hour... But I realized that I didn't had the flower with me... If that's not a fail, I don't know what can it be
NeoDMC I had already tested the path, knew it was safe and was confident to try it anyway, where I messed up badly was at 3:39 when I tried to cling to the wall to super dash and failed 3 times :P

D’art Meow Skeeter It would be cool if it had a cooperative mode like Salt and Sanctuary, but the game isn't designed like that. Sometimes I just stay in some areas and listen the soundtracks, I find the artwork relaxing.
I used Sharp Shadow after getting hit twice at the last room, for the extended reach as any other way was risky - you can do it without, but you have to carry some momentum or do it really close on the first set of thorns. It will also make the second hurdle different with Shadow Cloak active, so make sure not to overshoot it. Hope that helps someone! Good luck!

Slam into walls at super sonic speeds and crack the ground with your super powers and that little sucker is fine, but you take your flower on a little trip on a stag and that little shit will smash into a million pieces
Creeeamy Those actions (slams) last seconds, maybe it has to be continuous strain like the stag movement? Or the flower is just a diva and wants to make you suffer? 🤔
I just used Mark of Pride, Unbreakable Strength (Fragile Strength), Sprint Master, and Grubberfly's Elegy. Went across blue lake, through Crossroads to Fog Canyon, then through Queen's Garden. Just take your time and know the spawns and you can do it with any charms
Joel Leonard Also you could go using fury of the fallen, unbreakable strength and grubberfly elegy to blow everything up since you lose the flower if you get hit once anyways for maximum YOLO :) The point of the video was to show what enemies don't respawn and a quick and reliable way to deliver it with minimum risk. In the end you could use whatever you feel more comfortable with, after all everyone plays differently and that's the beautiful thing about this game.
Thanks to this guide I did it first try! Kind of. First I did a run where I cleared out all the enemies then on the second run I actually planned on delivering the flower. I paused my game and video so many times just to be careful. I got scared so much.
I did it first try without clearing the enemies (actually went through the acid lake in the crossroads to avoid explosive spore and bouncy mushroom bullshit) but my god those spikes at the end are devil's creation. I shiver at a very thought that I could miscalculate just a tiny bit and start it all over again.
Well, path of pain is at least honest about being painful, so someone like me wouldn't even try it. My personal Path of Pain was the city of tears' bridge unlock.
Actually beat the White Palace today, on my second playthrough. I was in awe of the cruel creativity of its author and glad that I didn't go for it on my first try. Still no desire to ever touch the path of pain, though. Oh, and meanwhile lost a flower on aforementioned spikes.
I personally took the route through the top of the crossroads into greenpath then dipping south into the queen's gardens. I took that one because I'm not awful at platforming, so the vines only got me once, and there's a lot more crystal dashable area to speed it up.
When people in the community were showing their hatred for this quest, I was a bit nervous. I got it on my second try. I also didn’t know the bench thing, so I reset the enemies both times. I also used a different route.
I went the exact same way and succeeded on my first try after procrastinating due to the bad reputation this quest has XD I just thought “... yay?” Guess I was just _very_ lucky ^^;
The funny thing with that one flower is that, you can ride the train, fall from high places, swim in acid and use crystal heart and the flower doesn't get destroyed at all, but use the stag, the dream portals or just get hit by an enemy or an obstacle, for the flower to get destroyed

when doing that, have your nailmaster glory charm and use great slash... A LOT. When ever i go through areas, i rip apart everything doing that. Plus having a pure nail helps too.
Pro Tip: make sure you have already unlocked the Queen Garden's Stag path before hand TT-TT P.S. After 4 years from posting this video, thank you very much! it still helped me A LOT, as I was getting frustrated trying to get through the Forgotten Crossroad's Path

Even though the Mourner says nothing about using it destroys it. Lost my second flower doing that. “Getting damaged or using stags destroys it.” Like at least add that in so people don’t get pissed about that
Bemas Cabida At earlier versions of the game you could, but It got patched, dreamgate breaks the flower now, unless you kinda glitch it. Verulean made a video about it, I'm not sure if they're going to patch that as well. Should I change the title of the video for easiest way to deliver delicate flower without cheats?
Or you can just take the short way... Through the acid water shortcut from crossroads to fog canion. You have to jump through some goams but I never found it hard. Want this way and literaly nailed this on my fourth try. Still don't know what all the fuss is about. Ever heard about path of pain?

Nikolas Urban You don't need to complete the path of pain, just complete the enemy data and you should get the hunter's mark. Now if you want the mark of binding as well... good luck. Path of Pain is an accurate name.
Lizardnix Well... after about 8 HOURS (3-4 of which I spent stuck on the LAST checkpoint )and litteraly PRAYING TO VOID I somehow made it through Path of "mental Pain". Accurate name indeed... I hear a buzzsaw one more time, I think I'll get PTSD...

I did this quest by using what I call the "Summoner Build" (Glowing Womb, Weaversong, Grimmchild) and the Dreamshield. My creature buddies got close to and killed everything while I was a safe distance away. The Dreamshield was useful in Fog Canyon when my weaverlings killed the giant explodey jellyfish. Fuck that last spike-filled passage though.
Got it first try with this method. Cheers. Only worrisome parts were the Sporg and its damn explodey spores, and of course the final room. Everything else was a breeze.
That's a smart route, but also slow. I prefer doing something slightly more risky but that take less time to try again. But anyway, thankfully I got it second try, going from forgotten crossroads to fog canyon immediately. Here's a good charm combo:Strenght, grubberfly, Mark of pride and add stuff to overcharm, then most ennemies can be taken down from distance in one or two hit if you have the pure nail.
Glowing Womb, Spell Twister, and Kingsoul can really helps you kill enemies without risking getting close to them. Do not equip this in Fog Canyon though, as they could attack Oomas before you could find a cover. Edit: Apperently glowing womb is not affected by spell twister. Still useful for spells though.
Cupangkoi Well, spell twister reduces the cost of spells, and glowing womb isn't a spell. Also the kingsoul takes ages to replenish your soul meter. But if you want to do the summoner way, I recommend Glowing womb, defender's charm (to add poison to the summons) Kingsoul and fate of the fallen, with only 1 mask. It doesn't matter if you go overcharmed as you would die or lose the flower in 1 hit anyway. You can sit back and watch everything get destroyed. But it'll take a while.
I did practice there a few times before getting the flower, since I got no editing software I had to do the video in one go, so despite practicing it was scary for me too (And that's why there's some awkward moments left in the footage).
This quest is so easy with this route, even if you do respawn the enemies. It’s the route I took originally. I don’t understand why so many people complain about it

Quick tip: You already know that stags and dream nail tp destroys the flower right? BUT, the cable car station does not destroy the flower. You can use this to go from resting grounds to crossroads without passing by blue lake.
Quick tip, you can deliver the Delicate Flower to two other NPC's in the game (Specifically Elderbug found in Dirtmouth, and Godseeker, found in the Royal Waterways.) So before delivering the Delicate Flower to the Traitor's child, give one to those two first.
i was going this route peacefully and then noticed one of those stupid things that run at you and then explode right as i used my crystal dash safe to say i am not getting a mask shard
Or... You could go directly to the right side elevator from resting grounds to city of tears. Crystal dash over guards and head to fungal waste, and go from below queen's garden. Provided you have the king's soul and glowing womb, you can kill all of the enemies from afar and platform over.
Andrew Zhao, it's just one of the many ways you can get there. This was my first successful attempt, and I feel it's ok; but if taking the path you suggested works for you, then that's fine as well :)
This is the safest way if you dont have the dream nail. If you have it just put the spawn area or whatever it is called at the place you have to put the flower, get the flower and go to the thing and give the flower
you dont know pain until you ran through the whole thing successfully then realize you never had the flower

I put myself through training. Testing myself to go in and out of the room past the spikes without getting hit. Eventually it will become simple.

dyrokudobane It will also make some jumping timing different because of the added distance travelled, so you must take that into account as well.

I took the same route but instead of greenpath I took Fog Canyon

Slam into walls at super sonic speeds and crack the ground with your super powers and that little sucker is fine, but you take your flower on a little trip on a stag and that little shit will smash into a million pieces
Creeeamy Those actions (slams) last seconds, maybe it has to be continuous strain like the stag movement? Or the flower is just a diva and wants to make you suffer? 🤔
I just used Mark of Pride, Unbreakable Strength (Fragile Strength), Sprint Master, and Grubberfly's Elegy. Went across blue lake, through Crossroads to Fog Canyon, then through Queen's Garden. Just take your time and know the spawns and you can do it with any charms
Joel Leonard Also you could go using fury of the fallen, unbreakable strength and grubberfly elegy to blow everything up since you lose the flower if you get hit once anyways for maximum YOLO :)
The point of the video was to show what enemies don't respawn and a quick and reliable way to deliver it with minimum risk. In the end you could use whatever you feel more comfortable with, after all everyone plays differently and that's the beautiful thing about this game.
Thanks to this guide I did it first try! Kind of. First I did a run where I cleared out all the enemies then on the second run I actually planned on delivering the flower. I paused my game and video so many times just to be careful. I got scared so much.
I did it first try without clearing the enemies (actually went through the acid lake in the crossroads to avoid explosive spore and bouncy mushroom bullshit) but my god those spikes at the end are devil's creation. I shiver at a very thought that I could miscalculate just a tiny bit and start it all over again.
Spellweaver Yup, those spikes are evil, but not as evil as path of pain (shudders).
Well, path of pain is at least honest about being painful, so someone like me wouldn't even try it.
My personal Path of Pain was the city of tears' bridge unlock.

Well, at least the Path of Pain itself is optional. I hope I'll git good by that time.
Actually beat the White Palace today, on my second playthrough. I was in awe of the cruel creativity of its author and glad that I didn't go for it on my first try. Still no desire to ever touch the path of pain, though.
Oh, and meanwhile lost a flower on aforementioned spikes.

I personally took the route through the top of the crossroads into greenpath then dipping south into the queen's gardens. I took that one because I'm not awful at platforming, so the vines only got me once, and there's a lot more crystal dashable area to speed it up.

When people in the community were showing their hatred for this quest, I was a bit nervous. I got it on my second try. I also didn’t know the bench thing, so I reset the enemies both times. I also used a different route.
Path of Pain and Colosseum are worse than this.

The funny thing with that one flower is that, you can ride the train, fall from high places, swim in acid and use crystal heart and the flower doesn't get destroyed at all, but use the stag, the dream portals or just get hit by an enemy or an obstacle, for the flower to get destroyed

alondanino I usually prefer to kill everything, specially those flying mantis at Queen's Garden, since they're really annoying.
when doing that, have your nailmaster glory charm and use great slash... A LOT. When ever i go through areas, i rip apart everything doing that. Plus having a pure nail helps too.
Pro Tip: make sure you have already unlocked the Queen Garden's Stag path before hand TT-TT

this was so helpful i kept trying to go through the lower part of queen's garden atleast 20 times it never occured to me to go through fog canyon.

Bemas Cabida At earlier versions of the game you could, but It got patched, dreamgate breaks the flower now, unless you kinda glitch it. Verulean made a video about it, I'm not sure if they're going to patch that as well. Should I change the title of the video for easiest way to deliver delicate flower without cheats?

Through the acid water shortcut from crossroads to fog canion. You have to jump through some goams but I never found it hard. Want this way and literaly nailed this on my fourth try. Still don't know what all the fuss is about. Ever heard about path of pain?

Nikolas Urban You don't need to complete the path of pain, just complete the enemy data and you should get the hunter's mark. Now if you want the mark of binding as well... good luck. Path of Pain is an accurate name.
Lizardnix Well... after about 8 HOURS (3-4 of which I spent stuck on the LAST checkpoint )and litteraly PRAYING TO VOID I somehow made it through Path of "mental Pain". Accurate name indeed... I hear a buzzsaw one more time, I think I'll get PTSD...

I did this quest by using what I call the "Summoner Build" (Glowing Womb, Weaversong, Grimmchild) and the Dreamshield. My creature buddies got close to and killed everything while I was a safe distance away.
The Dreamshield was useful in Fog Canyon when my weaverlings killed the giant explodey jellyfish.
Fuck that last spike-filled passage though.
Damian Christensen It's like they wanted to farm the maximum amount of salt so they put those spikes at the very end.
I just take the shortest path from crossroads to fungal wastes to queen's garden it's not that hard

Got it first try with this method. Cheers. Only worrisome parts were the Sporg and its damn explodey spores, and of course the final room. Everything else was a breeze.
That's a smart route, but also slow. I prefer doing something slightly more risky but that take less time to try again. But anyway, thankfully I got it second try, going from forgotten crossroads to fog canyon immediately. Here's a good charm combo:Strenght, grubberfly, Mark of pride and add stuff to overcharm, then most ennemies can be taken down from distance in one or two hit if you have the pure nail.
You can also take the tram from resting grounds to forgotten crossroads instead of going across the blue lake

This is legitimately the exact same route and mostly the same Charm setup I always use for this quest lol. Great minds think alike.
Big brain time
Glowing Womb, Spell Twister, and Kingsoul can really helps you kill enemies without risking getting close to them. Do not equip this in Fog Canyon though, as they could attack Oomas before you could find a cover.
Edit: Apperently glowing womb is not affected by spell twister. Still useful for spells though.
Cupangkoi Well, spell twister reduces the cost of spells, and glowing womb isn't a spell. Also the kingsoul takes ages to replenish your soul meter. But if you want to do the summoner way, I recommend Glowing womb, defender's charm (to add poison to the summons) Kingsoul and fate of the fallen, with only 1 mask. It doesn't matter if you go overcharmed as you would die or lose the flower in 1 hit anyway. You can sit back and watch everything get destroyed. But it'll take a while.

I did practice there a few times before getting the flower, since I got no editing software I had to do the video in one go, so despite practicing it was scary for me too (And that's why there's some awkward moments left in the footage).

Quick tip: You already know that stags and dream nail tp destroys the flower right? BUT, the cable car station does not destroy the flower. You can use this to go from resting grounds to crossroads without passing by blue lake.

Quick tip, you can deliver the Delicate Flower to two other NPC's in the game (Specifically Elderbug found in Dirtmouth, and Godseeker, found in the Royal Waterways.) So before delivering the Delicate Flower to the Traitor's child, give one to those two first.
Even if you complete the quest you can grab flowers from the grave to deliver them. Also I made this video before Godseeker was a thing :)
i was going this route peacefully and then noticed one of those stupid things that run at you and then explode right as i used my crystal dash

Or... You could go directly to the right side elevator from resting grounds to city of tears. Crystal dash over guards and head to fungal waste, and go from below queen's garden. Provided you have the king's soul and glowing womb, you can kill all of the enemies from afar and platform over.
Andrew Zhao, it's just one of the many ways you can get there. This was my first successful attempt, and I feel it's ok; but if taking the path you suggested works for you, then that's fine as well :)

This is the safest way if you dont have the dream nail. If you have it just put the spawn area or whatever it is called at the place you have to put the flower, get the flower and go to the thing and give the flower
