With the update on her skills I think it's okay to still max out her first skill first even as the roamer since the cooldown of the second skill has been drastically reduced. With max cooldown reduction , you can use the first skill three times in a short period with her ult (before, during, and after). Even without going full damage build, it's good for single target burst because the hero marked by her ult will be prioritized by the soul blooms.
Now she is like the Edith in her prime just like her if u know how to counter her it's very esey to solo and even killed her for example just take one magic Defence and she will lost 60% of her Damage and will become useless

Before the actual buff, I've been trying a roam mage build on Mathilda, honestly the buff she got is what she needs and deserved after a few seasons on the lower bracket pick list. She can one shot Squishies and provide huge amounts of shield and heal at the same time even before the update. Ultimate got 2x better , a 1 sec faster cooldown on both 1st and 2nd skill is not OP. Just people not used to go up against Mathilda since she was out of Meta for a few seasons that's why it feels unfair.
Mathilda is perfect and balanced. It's satisfying to completely fuck up mages and mm while dissembling their brain cells on where to aim. And since MLBB movement is Chucky most of time when she uses the second phase of the ult, it goes almost instantly.

My opinion of Mathilda, she is a hard hero to master. The skills are easier to use, but their timing requires more thinking. I like Tank-Roam Mathilda's build path for her mid-late-game contribution. Building tank, allows me to stand at the front of the battle, with all the shields (s2 +ult) and heal (favor boots) she gets, she can sustain a lot of damage. Standing in the front line allows me to always have a target for ult and jump further into the enemy backline more easily. As a roamer, *S1 (Utility)* Early game: DPS + Vision control. Mid - Late game: Vision Control only. Since S1 expose enemies in the bushes or break their conceal (Item, Natalia, Lesley, Aamon etc.), facing against those heroes, it is important to time the skill to break their ability. Random use of S1 give enemy a small window of opportunity to deal more dmg to you and your team. Every bit counts *S2* The skill that makes Mathilda so broken right now. Esp with the reduced CD and increased duration when they can activate her S2 and Wilderness blessing. Early game: Always need to watch teammate and determine their destination. E.g., Exp is rotating to mid to help clear wave, a good use of S2 is to help them get back to their lane faster. Since Mathilda will always run wilderness blessing, you will definitely move faster from mid to side lane. You can start moving off when Exp laner is clearing the last minion and they can still fly over to you. But you must always take note of where to dash if not you will lead your own teammate to certain death. So that's another layer to consider. Mid-Late game With tank build, always use it to scout bush and open map. No fear of dying since I can always escape with Ult and her long-range dash. I remember watching the advance server clips of her before she was ever released, and I was like this characters going to be a skip for me that I played my first game with her. And I fell in love, and to this day, she is still my main. I was starting to lose home last patch. I was honestly thinking about going back to being a nana main but then the legendary buff came. My favorite build for her right now is early game assassin late game tank. Build Mana dire hit boots, genius wand, golden stuff, dominant ice, any physical defense, and any magic defense. The emblem you want to use is mage. Obviously he go for speed, master assassin, focusing mark. And if you’re struggling, you can replace golden stuff with flask. and I usually run shield battle spell. The amount of damage you can deal with still being tank absolutely nutty. Also with this build if they’re running either and marksman or regular assassin jungle, if he’s by themselves, you can just kill him. Like there’s no way they kill you first unless they’re obscenely fed.

i used to main mathilda during pre-m3 seasons. now i got to play her again and she's like a flying grock. first skill, dash ,ult then dash towards the mm or mage bringing one of your teammate with you while knocking up targets you hit along the way then another first skill, is kinda insane. me and my duo had a 100% win rate on her. i play mathilda she either play claude, karrie, kadita, irithel or atlas. she's fcking broken if you have a good carry

Mages, asassins or even fighters without athena/radiant as good as dead once you find them in a team fight and will kill them WITHOUT touching them, by pressing a maximized 1st skill before the ult duration ends and safely reposition with ult 2nd phase out of the combat area, all the while the tanks and other front liners helpessly see her circle around a squishy and kill them effortlessly. Their cc cant do anything to stop Mathilda, and those who have suppression have to be very close to her, which is very hard considering that ulti's high mobility and ridiculous range.

Also, building full dmg is very dependent on team comp, you will need your jungler and/or exp to be the main front-line tank. In most games I have with her, I always have assassins or dmg jungler and exp. I have to agree with the above comment, Mathilda's potential doesn't come with items, but with strategic position, repositioning, and being a huge annoyance to the enemy. But that's my playstyle, I still believe in dmg Mathilda but most games I played don't allow me to do so. haha

Mathilda can be pared with slow but deadly heroes like terizla and aldous as she provides them with a free dash and also a target locked ulti which is enough for then to kill their main adc.
She's an absolute menace. Very agile with above average survivability and damage, she can assassinate your backline if they aren't careful, no wonder she's banned 2/3 of my matches.
Heres my build for Mathilda after the buff : Support emblem Inspire Wilderness Blessing Quantum Charge Build: Tough boots - Favor CoD Talisman FotO Ice Queen Antiq/Anthena/Imo/Domi (depends) Spell - Aegis/Revitalize This build is made for late game. Gives high shield and heal.
There’s no better user of quantum charge than mathilda, literally double spd boost from a basic atk and heal, quickly charging her wisp stacks. And what made her more annoying now is that she can still hit you and choose to not dive by using her ult again, she’s definitely worthy of being banned for how absurd her dmg is now again, and the easy dive potential picking off one by one and with how low her ult cd is too. Honestly she deserves it, she’s been ignored for the longest time now with a very awkward kit either she’s a support or an assassin, now she can truly be both whether you choose to go full dmg or hybrid with the new support item. Ofc this’ll be momentarily and that she’ll soon get the nerf hammer after a while xD
Try damage focused mathilda, she works better that way Personally I use pen boots + tailsmen + genius wand + glowing wand + holy crystal + anything, w assassin emblem & killing spree I use aegis for safety precautions
Arcane Boots, Genius Wand, Glowing Wand and Divine Glaive is more than enough. Then Winter Truncheon and Flask of the Oasis for survivality (optional, these can be replaced for any other defensive item). She doesn't benefit too much from magic power, but magic penetration. With this build you'll be one shoting every squishy from the very first item. Try it!

I also using Mathilda a lot lately. With assassin emblem and full magic build I can one shot even enemy's core with ease as long as there's no cc. I use oasis item and feather to strengthen her shield so I can survive longer while turret diving alone and believe me, her shield is just like Angela has ult me.
Most of the time when I was forced to roam I picked Mathilda but my teammates always doesn't know how to play around her I really liked her and playing with her but because of that I stopped picking her

Mathilda can be pared with slow but deadly heroes like terizla and aldous as she provides them with a free dash and also a target locked ulti which is enough for then to kill their main adc.

She's an absolute menace. Very agile with above average survivability and damage, she can assassinate your backline if they aren't careful, no wonder she's banned 2/3 of my matches.

There’s no better user of quantum charge than mathilda, literally double spd boost from a basic atk and heal, quickly charging her wisp stacks. And what made her more annoying now is that she can still hit you and choose to not dive by using her ult again, she’s definitely worthy of being banned for how absurd her dmg is now again, and the easy dive potential picking off one by one and with how low her ult cd is too.
Honestly she deserves it, she’s been ignored for the longest time now with a very awkward kit either she’s a support or an assassin, now she can truly be both whether you choose to go full dmg or hybrid with the new support item. Ofc this’ll be momentarily and that she’ll soon get the nerf hammer after a while xD
Yeah i'm glad they buffed her. I hope they don't nerf her for the next 3 seasons at the very least because she honestly deserved the buff.
Try damage focused mathilda, she works better that way
Personally I use pen boots + tailsmen + genius wand + glowing wand + holy crystal + anything, w assassin emblem & killing spree

that faramis ult came in clutch
Arcane Boots, Genius Wand, Glowing Wand and Divine Glaive is more than enough. Then Winter Truncheon and Flask of the Oasis for survivality (optional, these can be replaced for any other defensive item). She doesn't benefit too much from magic power, but magic penetration. With this build you'll be one shoting every squishy from the very first item. Try it!

Instead of cancel the ulti behind, you can just swoop fly from the front into the back.. The range is same, and you will AOE knock up them..

Betousky, I only had 2 matches with Matilda, and now I have been using her as a mage, and she does one shot any heroe lol
I also using Mathilda a lot lately. With assassin emblem and full magic build I can one shot even enemy's core with ease as long as there's no cc. I use oasis item and feather to strengthen her shield so I can survive longer while turret diving alone and believe me, her shield is just like Angela has ult me.
