You guys are awesome! I love to come to your farm to look at the flowers (which is free). Now getting this useful info is great. Interesting that you have Sandy soil, 40miles away from you it is the hardest possible clay here. I planted dahlia first time this year and looking into when to dig up the tubers. The flowers are going strong and lovely.
I am curious about the implement you use on the tractor to dig the dahlias. Is it similar to a potato-digging implement? Is it something your family created to do the job? This is such a neat video and it makes you appreciate the hard work put into harvesting the tubers for us all to buy!
For how many acres we have, it helps with weed control in the early stages, till we can't get over the dahlias with the current cultivator we have. As well, as we hill them, it then helps with stability of the plants as they go through the summer.
This may well be the best thing I learn all day. Thank you for the excellent video.
Thank you for sharing. You have a very nice dahlias farm.
oh thats a great idea, to mulch and cover the ground with the stalks, thank you so much for this, beautiful
This was such an interesting and amazing video. Thanks for sharing the hard work and behind the scenes with fellow-dahlia-lovers!!
Wow, amazing production.
Fabulous video! Thank you for showing us how this process is handled.

What month do you do your digging?
AWESOME
Interesting! So how do y'all replenish the dahlias you dig up?
We replant every spring!❤️
When do you hill your rows and what is the benefit to hilling?

Thanks for the reply!
Less than a 10 minute video would be great and full screen.
