Greetings from a fellow Monster owner from the UK. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out. As the bike's been standing for so long, don't be tempted to start it without changing the belts - you don't want to risk trashing the motor for the sake of $100 or so! Best of luck.

Hi, thank you so much for the tip. You're absolutely right sadly I read this too late prior to filming the next video! lol the belts are on their way. Belts and valve clearance are on the list soon.

As a new rider between this bike and sv650x, what should i buy? Is maintenance that expensive on ducati?

Hi ... I'm from Jakarta, Indonesia, my motorcycle is Ducati Monster 696, in 2011, last week I had an accident, some parts were damaged, the most important is the speedometer, I'm having trouble getting these parts, can you give advice for me? I try to buy it via e-bay, but the seller can't send it to Indonesia

Whyd you sell the shiver so quickly? Seemed like a great bike for you. That said happy you're back on team 696 with me. Pretty confident you can get that back to great condition for under 1000. The tank cover and cowl you can buy on ebay for easily under 100 each. The clutch probably needs a full flush. Everything else should be cake. Once it's up and running your easily be able to sell that for 4-5k with all those goodies on it. If you want to part put those termis let me know ahaha!

Once I got the triumph the shiver felt obsolete. Sold it for a profit and pretty much paid for the Ducati. Yea I ordered all the parts I needed I’m right under 1k. Good guess! Should road worthy in a week and full on sexy Ducati in a month. Stay tuned hopefully we can get it started over the next few videos
