Shame TTI decided to do the Darkwing Duck game instead on TG-16. I was so sad when I played that as a kid because I thought it would be like the NES one but better.
The Lion King on Genesis, despite having the same producer (Virgin), and maybe the same level design, had different "hitboxes" for the hippo tails/ears, and it was overall much easier and more intuitive than SNES' version. So if someone wants to play this, and not get enraged by that level, I totally recommend the Genesis version! (and I say this as a proud owner of both cartridges)
i own the megadrive version since i was a kid, was wondering why people call it so hard, guess i got my answer ( and maybe the fact that i didn't have many games, and even if i died a lot i got throught it, again and again )
One of the developers of The Lion King said they were told it make it very challenging on SNES. Nintendo works with the developers on their games and they wanted it hard so that kids who rented it couldn't beat it. They did it hoping they'd be tempted to buy it so they could get all the way through.
Does anyone know whether in these new "remaster" titles (Disney Collection) For Ps4/Switch/Xbox, where they have The Lion King, Aladdin and Jungle Book, are they the Mega Drive or the SNES version?? (Or do they have both?)
Aladdin on SNES is one of my favorite games ever. It's fun and has great replayability. I always try to find all the red gems or at least enough to get the special ending. I think I'm going to play it now!
Okay this game is great. The Genesis version is the not the holy freaking grail of Aladdin games. So tired that people think this game is dog shit compared to the Genesis version
Aladdin and Magical Quest starring Mickey Mouse are DEFINITELY still worth playing today. Usually anything Capcom concocts is good and I really wish we had a North American SNES release of Magical Quest 3 starring Mickey & Donald, as the story in that game was pretty compelling.
arbereshe I know we got a GBA release. But I really wanted a SNES release though and it was just so weird that that crossover never happened for it. I heard Woody convinced him to get on the methadone maintenance program after hitting him with a surprise intervention. Woody felt he just had to step in once he found out that Buzz pawned his space suit and started posting escort ads on backpage. I hope he can turn his life around now that he’s on the clinic.
The Great Circus Mystery might not be as highly rated/known as most SNES games, but it has a special place in my heart/childhood. Yes it might be short and relatively easy (for Capcom at least, still took me awhile to beat at a young age) but the co-op multiplayer mode was one of the best at the time. I had a lot of fun playing with my sister/friends, and if my father was busy, I could still start the game and he could easily jump in later by pressing start at any time.
I gave Goof Troop a try today and it is an incredibly addictive game ! I could not put the controller down until I had completed the first stage. It is surprisingly good. My only complaint: ennemies respawn, it can get annoying especially when you have to backtrack. Great video, well done !

Goof Troop is totally underrated. And The Jungle Book looked very good and followed the movie very accurately. But, man, these boss fights, especially King Loui in Collapsing Ruins.
Your reviews are amazing, and I can see how good your became in your game analysis! You could make others videos explaining in more details each of these games, or at least make one going through the Goof Troop, Mickey Circus 3 and Lion King! (If you already didn't that)
Aladdin on the SNES is one of my all time favorite games. I'd pick Great Circus Mystery over Mickey to Donald as it has infinite continues so its allot easier to play in coop with kids.

The reason Disney games have such good sprite animation is because Disney had to approve what the developers did, so they couldn't get away with something half-assed.
Random trivia: Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow’s music is by Michael Giacchino! Before he did scores for Pixar (The Incredibles and Up to name a couple) and a bunch of other blockbuster movies (like some of the newer Star Trek and Mission: Impossible movies), he did that game; it’s one of his earliest credits. Also, 4:39 apparently Donald Duck is incredibly popular in many countries besides the US essentially because his comics were great, starting with Carl Barks (who basically created a lot of what ended up getting made into DuckTales) and continuing with Don Rosa and a ton of others, including many local to the regions they’re published in. Donald’s got an entire superhero spinoff series (among others) in Italy, Osamu Tezuka (the godfather of manga) drew a Christmas card for Carl Barks of Astro Boy hugging a disgruntled Donald, and I read an article once that said some patent office (in The Netherlands maybe?) denied someone a patent on a technique to raise ships from the sea floor because it had already been done in a Donald Duck comic. So yeah, most people in the US are a little more take-him-or-leave-him but he’s popular in a ton of other places.
Mickey Mania was a blast to play on the Genesis and I still have the game to today. I'll never get why the SNES version had loading times or even why they cut the game a level. I've played the SNES version during the good ol video rental days, and it made me appreciate the Genesis version more.
The Mickey and Donald Magical Adventure 3 game got an English patch and and official English release on the GBA. Also, the Donald Duck SNES game got an English patch recently.
For years I was upset that the Genesis had the version of Aladdin with a sword. While I thoroughly enjoyed the SNES version, the genesis version seemed like it could be better. When I eventually played it, I have to admit I was a little disappointed. It’s still a good game, but the controls didn’t feel as tight as the SNES version. After spending time with both versions, I’ve come to appreciate the SNES version more as time has gone on and revisit it more than the Genesis title. Both are good games though.
