This is so cool man!! My dad gave me his 2003 k1200rs and it runs great. It’s a very nice bike, with lots of HP. He tried turning it into a track bike by removing anything that wasn’t necessary/ added weight. But the time it was handed down to me, it was in shambles, with half the wiring harness cut out, no ABS, no nothing! I had to figure it all out and splice the wires back together. And mind you, I am not a natural at this stuff. But I’m proud to say that it is fully fixed and I’ve been riding it happily ever since! I’m excited to see how your project turns out.
Great story, glad you've got it all figured out. I'm planning to go for a K1100 wiringloom so then I can delete the whole ABS and make everything a lot simpler. I already showed some footage of that in my latest K12 build video
LOVE THIS VIDEO. I just bought one of these and having a teardown video is exactly what I needed to see. Want to be familiar with the locations of sensors and alk the other components and how to get to them. I give your video an A+. Thank you for filming and narrating your work. You are a great contributor to us DIYers that need a little help along the way. 😊!!
@doctor.driv399 I'm just at the point where I can do some research about that. The engine is rebuild and the frame is now on, so I can start searching for a tank that not only fits, but also gives the look that I'm aiming for. Any suggestions?
@@corner.custom Somewhere in web, I found K1200RS with Hornets tank. In my opinion looks very nice. I dont like clipon handlebars, i prefere classic handlebar, like bandit 1200, XJR etc. So I will go in this direction, classic handlebar, tank and seat from hornet.
Thanks man for following. It's a challenging bike for sure and haven't seen a whole lot of other bikes been modified. I've got everything painted and Cerakoted so on the next video we'll have a working engine again 👍🏼
Beautiful work and videos! Keep them coming! Quick question, what is the regulation for bike modification in the Netherlands? I just moved and I would like to do a similar project, but I do not know what is allowed in terms of bike modification (suspension, subframe, breaks, etc.) Congratulation again for the work!
Thank you man, that's great to hear. Got new content coming up soon! Where your from? The rules in The Netherlands aren't that strict when you compare it to Germany with the TUV. If you make sure your bike is solid, with good parts you come a long way. They tend to focus on the (distance) between the indicators, DB (WOK-melding) and good visibility on the licenseplate
Great! Glad to hear rules aren´t that strict. I'm from Venezuela. So far, loving The Netherlands and their people. Again, congratulations on the videos and projects. Looking forward to the next ones! @@corner.custom
God, I hope you don't go full Hipster and finish this off with giant knobby tires, lol. I saw one yesterday (a Hipster) on a full fairing R1, with Continental TKC80's, a brown "old distressed" looking brand new Bomber jacket, torn knee skinny jeans, Keds, and a brand new '70's bubble face shield narrow jaw candy apple metal flake helmet, wobbling around a street corner in the city. It's not a good look, dudes.
Great story😅 No knobby tires on this build, no worries about that. I'll ditch the K12 wheels for some GS spoked wheels and they'll have normal street tires with some custom fenders on it 👌🏼
If you ask other mechanics, they would give the same advice, at least take it apart while you can to check the condition of the bearings, then if there nothing wrong replace them anyway, for peace of mind
Its called laser cleaning. Get yourself the machine and cut your engine and parts cleaning time to a quarter. Your engine cleaning techniques are obsolete in comparison to what ceramic laser cleaning offers.
Comment down below if you're interested in a TB rebuild how-to video👍🏼
Yes for me please!
...and me
yes also for me!!!!
@golconda86 Noted 😁👍🏼

Great work like always! The quality of your videos is getting better with each upload 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks 👏🏻 Always nice to hear!

Thanks man, comments like these really makes the effort on filming and editing worth it! Hope to share the new video soon on the rebuild of the engine
excellent progress and very good voice over and explaining
Thanks man that's great to hear. Takes a lot of time and effort to do the narration, so good to know it's being enjoyed!
Classic mate and I love how you just carry the whole engine like it's 20kg!
Lightweight 💪🏼😁
Clear, concise and informative. You just got another subscriber. I can't wait to see the final product
Thanks man, welcome to the club 😁 🏆
Bravo Corner, joli travail !
Thanks 😁👍🏼
Go for it!! Great work
Sure will💪🏼🤟🏼
Great work!!!!
Thanks man!
Superhandig!
Doing the same build. I have a 04 K1200 but gt. I kind of like the naked plastic gas tank, gives it a mad max look.
Ok cool! A Mad Max look would be nice too, but I'm leaning towards a more BMW R18 looking tank. But not yet sure how to make that work
We take the engine for a walk 😂 dat maakt men zondag goed! Doe zo verder!
Haha kijk mooi om te horen💪🏼👌🏼
I have one, very hard work.💪🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Sure is, but we'll get there 💪🏼👍🏼
Great work!👌
Thanks 👍🏼👍🏼
Make longer vids. Love the content
Great to get feedback like this 👍🏼. I'm working on a (longer) video for the paint/Cerakote part and engine rebuild
We are still waiting for more :)
Haha I'm busy editing the video as we speak. There's a lot of progress done by now. Try to upload the video this year 😁
@@corner.custom thx. I also want to buy similar bike. I'm wondering what tank will you use?

rawsome... good to see this. I have a 2003 RS.
Ok great! I've got the project rolling again, videos out. Hoping to finish this project this summer
awesome teardown, and informative!

GREAT JOB MAN..!!!.SALUDOS FROMO ARGENTINA....
Gracias amigo!
Amazing how easy you made carrying that 200lb engine look.
Nothing but a peanut 🥜 😁
@@corner.custom yes. An 86kg peanut.
@grabir01 Haha indeed! It's already put back together and put back on the lift, video coming out soon
Been there, nice vid and instructions !!
Thanks 🫡
amazing job.....!
Thank you 🫡
When deleting the ABS were you able to reuse the stock brake lines?
I still haveto start rebuild the bike, but I know now that you can't reuse the stock brake lines

Because you tore it down this far, it would be advised to replace the rod and crank bearings
I'm thinking about doing that

I want to put this engine on a fiat 600 lol
130 hp with some high RPM would nice ingredients for a Fiat 600😁
Rebuild please
Rebuild yes, but not OEM 😌
True that. There's more than enough wiring on the bike to drive you insane!
BMW engineers put a car engine in the motorcycle
Is has a lot of similar parts when I compare it to the E30 that I owned, especially with the K100
tell this to ebay sellers, they never labelling cables and asking crazy money.
Well all they need to do is watch this video then 😁 win win situation
Sorry, my external HD crashed with lots of footage on it. I've send it out to get it repaired. Hope to share a new episode soon
Bike is almost finished 🫡

I know I know, but as a enthusiast that's a high price to pay
@@corner.custom a 200 watt ceramic laser cleaner is not super expensive
@Tirah5 What's not super expensive? I did lookedat dry ice cleaning, but 🤑
@@Tirah5What brand is not super expensive but still is worth it to buy? How much is not that much??
