      Recibe otras tantas denominaciones :
" Capital mundial de la Amistad " Reconocida por las NN.UU. debido a la iniciativa del Dr. paraguayo Artemio Bracho en instituír el día mundial de la Amistad. También la llaman " Ciudad Verde de Hispanoamérica " Por exhibir vegetación abundante

Today I know a lot of beautiful places in Asuncion and with the many trees and nature it is one of the most beautiful cities I know. @@oldaloneandfarfromhome Yes Richard having a full head of hair certainly helps looking younger and feeling great. I’m in the same boat. Great head of hair and most people don’t believe that I’m 62. I remember Paraguay from being there almost 30 years ago and what a difference. Mostly good but some not so good. Being born and raised in the NYC area all the congestion is not for me anymore. That made me move about an hour and a half north of NYC to a rural quiet area. I caught the Saint Augustine video and wish I saw it sooner because we stayed there for 10 days in March 2023. Had a great time there and it’s most likely to be a yearly visit. Yes the lower part of Florida is not for us anymore. Is a video of Italy coming soon? Would be great. I noticed the videos from Greece but haven’t had time to watch yet but I will. Through DNA testing two years ago I found out that I’m 25 % Greek. Never knew about that one but very proud to tell everyone I’m a quarter Greek. I am subscribed and will definitely be watching.

The best park in Asunción by a million miles is the parque de salud, North of Villa Morra. I agree that the rest aren't impressive. And you really need to give Mbeju another chance 😮. Venturing outside of Asuncion to places like Paraguarí is also highly recommended to get a feel for the countryside lifestyle.

My wife and I just got back. She’s from there. Asunción they speak Spanish mixed with Guarani - mainly they throw “piko” in sentences or they use “luego”.
If you travel east into the country it becomes Guarani mixed with Spanish. And the regions around La cuidad de la este - they speak Portuguese while many signs are in German.
But do not expect people to speak English. It’s just not there.

I really hate zoos too, and regarding the lions and tigers, you know, they were kind of abandoned around 2012 by a traveling circus, the circus owners had issues with the customs and left the animals there, so the authorities took them to the zoo since they were all in cages and started to get ill. I believe one of the tigers actually died later on. Even though the zoo is far from being a nice place for them, they seemed to like it there (maybe considering their previous lifestyle), that one of the tigress even got pregnant and had 3 cubs.

I must explain that the main causes of the war of triple alliance or war of Paraguay were the geopolitical differences in the XIX century, as the political support of the government of Argentina to a coup d'état in Uruguay during the Uruguayan civil war, the invasion of the Uruguayan territory by the military forces of the ''Empire of Brazil''. The government of Francisco S. Lopez, who had good relations with the legitimate government of Uruguay, rejected this and the unbridled expansionism of Brazil, which also had disputed claims with Paraguay. It would not be correct to frame him simply as the instigator of the war.

In fact around the year 2012/2013 a circus came on tour and then left abandoned the 8 tigers, and a lion in cages and in poor condition, the zoo and an NGO since then tucked them and took care of them until now.
These animals could not be released in their habitat because the circus cut their nails so they remained in the zoo.
the lion sadly passed away in 2018 due to a tumor.
i think is good that at least they are there finally they had and have some peace after suffering so much in the circus.

Lopez didn't incitated to the war was a secret plan against Paraguay by Brazil and Argentina mainly, Brazil in spanish times always was invading and stoling spanish land's overall "El tratado de tordesillas" also years ago Brazil started invading Paraguayan's land in spanish times as Uruguay and Misiones

@@oldaloneandfarfromhome Yes because Is a shame for argentinians also uruguayans their countries were formed by the division of Paraguayan's province to create "El virreynato del rio de la Plata" after this the allied to brazilians because as them they debt to U.K so they made the war to end up with Paraguay and start a new version of the history, Argentina didn't end with us but they still use their fake version about our own history to try to clean up all those war crimes they commited then

Wrong, he actually did. Even if there was a "secret plan" they didn't have a real reason to invade Paraguay until Lopez atacked Corrientes

@@vladimirnovik. You're wrong, Corrientes really was part of attacked by Brazilians too, Corrientes, Uruguay and Buenos Aires where part of Paraguayan's province even after spanish time, Corrientes and Uruguay, by this reason Uruguay after its own independence of Spanish Paraguayan's province Uruguay was Paraguay allied, Argentina left Brazilians invade Uruguay and Corrientes, Paraguay got the pact of Help in war case to Uruguay, Argentina didn't leave Paraguayan's troops pass by Argentinian territory, So they made the tramp to Paraguay with Brazil to have excuse to attack and destroy Paraguay even from the History, Argentina didn't won the war at all, because Paraguay is here but they fake the history to erase Paraguay name because they know they appeared destroying and dividing its own country "Provincia del Paraguay" and created after failed states as Argentina and Bolivia, And remember "EL MATE ES PARAGUAYO"

To visit is not a bad idea, moving there requires a great deal more investigation, high level of government corruption and ranks high in the Latin American countries with organized crime. As far as freedom, that is always fragile in a country that has changed it's constitution 6 times, not a good sign.
