Great review! This new version is not published in the US so I had to buy the English language version from a UK seller. It is definitely the best version of the game and the components are great. I do wish they gave you more gems because we often have to stop and have people trade in five rubies for a diamond just so we have enough for everyone especially with larger groups.
Excellent explanation. Thanks for showing the original stay or go mechanics. Just bought the game and will use the figures for escape voting fo sure. Good idea to be able to add another player during game time. Great!
I have bought it on a whim as a Christmas gift for my brother (he is not much into board games). I haven't played it myself, but i know the general gist of it. Well, they have played it 8 times in a row with family and friends after opening it and had a blast :D I guess i wasn't wrong ;)
In the original game, you drop your explorer when you are declaring that you are leaving the cave. We hold them over the camp, so when you drop them, it is almost like you are saying that you are dropping them back at the camp.
Where are the relics? Are they replaced by the 5 gem card? If that is true the previous print is better,(the race for ancient artifacts) it's got got everything except those nice chests and sparkly gems... and tough nylon cards(I don't really know the texture, it might even be extra thick linen).
Looks like they did the game justice with this nice reprint. I have the original game, which is really nice. I have a 2nd printing, which didn't come with the little board for the camp, so I printed my own and laminated it. heh Unnecessary, yes, but fun to have. :-) I also felt that it didn't have enough gems, so I found basically the identical gems online, so I jazzed up my game with TONS of gems. :-) Does the new version come with enough gems, or have you seen an issue where they start to sometimes run short? Obviously, this only happens with a big group of lucky adventurers. heh ;-) Oh... and to be extra nutty, I added little plastic Indiana Jones treasures, like the Ark of the Covenant, the head of the Staff of Ra, etc... to include relics to the game for flavor. :-) The original game didn't have the relic rule and was added as a rule later, so in my copy of the game, the 1 card acts as the relic card. :-)
Ah yes, the gems. The new version forces us to exchange a lot, as we quickly run out of the 1's, but it hasn't been a problem yet, there's always been enough after change. Nice relic cards, would really be great to get some Indy flavor here :)
At least there are enough clear gems to make change with, then. :-) As long as you don't run out completely, that sounds fine. Yeah, I guess you can still add little plastic Indy treasures for flavor, if you want. ;-) Very fun press-your-luck game, regardless. :-)
Well, yeah. Scandinavian countries, along with the Netherlands, have the best non-native English speakers in the world. I think this is probably because: 1 - Scandinavian languages and Dutch are all Germanic languages, like English. They are very similar to English in structure. 2 - Scandinavian countries and the Netherlands are subtitle cultures. They don't dub movies and TV shows, but add subtitles. This means that many people are listening to English all the time in their favorite movies and TV shows. The second point sets them apart from German speakers. German is of course a Germanic language as well, but German-speaking countries have a dub culture, meaning that on average they listen to English much less often in their daily lives. But of course younger people are closing that gap, because of their large exposure to English material on the internet and all that.

Thanks for this cheery review, including the excellent tip about Stay or Go with the meeples!

I love your delivery! Very entertaining and informative video!
I bought this game off of someone on ebay. I’m eagerly awaiting it.
So if you are hiding an explorer in your hand, do you play so that's staying or leaving?

Yes, it's a nice explanation. You can't choose not to open your hands.
Amazing review!! You got yourself a new subscriber XD

Is there any news on the English version release of this game?
This is the English version, but I assume you mean US distribution. In that case, I've recently discovered that it's not available there yet :(
I hear this isn't available in the US. I plan on getting it at GenCon.
Iello has till August to stop me from flipping their table. :-P
Late to the party, but i just stumbled upon this and Incan gold! What would everyone/anyone recommend if I could only choose one (price not a factor)?
He says in the review that Diamant is a better version of Incan Gold
Great review! Looks awesome!

KabukiKid I ran out when playing with a group of four recently, granted we were a couple of very lucky adventurers.
The relic art is very dull. The art looks like a pile of gems in the middle of an empty room and not at all like a relic.
Great review
Your english is very good.
