Did they change the rules in this version? It was noted treasures "distribute gems among all players currently on the expedition" - our version has the treasures on the board then when revealing "return or keep exploring" whoever returns divides evenly what is out. (i.e. if 15 gems are out, 6 players in, only two leave, those two get 7 each and 1 stays). This adds a big part of the game - enticing people to leave early but then tricky if too many leave early.
Great video, I’ve had my eye on Diamant for a while and it seems pretty reasonably priced for the entertainment it would bring. The only problem is it’s for 3 or more players and I play 99% of my games 2 player with my wife, so I can’t quite justify it over other purchases. Hope to get it one day.
Which board games do you guys play the most? Which were the games that are easy to get into?Is there a favourite one for your wife? Me and my gf are new to games, so far only tried jaipur, schotten totten and splendor: duel, all are relatively easy games. Thanks 🙏
@@Believe_mlbb I’ve picked up Diamant since and played it with a two player variant where an AI third player is used and it was okay. Definitely feels as though it would shine at higher player counts. We haven’t tried Splendor Duel let but both enjoy the original Splendor. We also like Azul, Carcassonne, Luxor, Castles of Burgundy, Santorini, Railroad Ink, Takenoko, Patchwork, Lost Cities, Barenpark, Blue Lagoon, Sobek: 2 Player and Pandemic to name a few.
@@Reikyt Thanks so much for replying! I've never played original splendor, but splendor duel is really fun! I think that we'll definitely buy Azul and Santorini, also want to try patchwork and carcassonne, I've been also considering on bying targi, but i think it'll be a little bit complexed for my gf😅 thanks for the recommendations! And yeah although I'm only playing 2player board games so far, but feel like can also pick up a diamant to play with friends, seems like a easy, casual, fun game
I always wondered how to use the explorer meeples in Diamant. Put them in front of players they belong to or put them on the actual cards? Which is the official correct way?
I have this game, the idea of the meeples is to all hold them in your hands and count 1.2.3 then if you drop the meeple you are going further in the cave or if you hold on to them you are leaving the cave, much more fun than showing the cards
They are supposed to just go into the tunnel as the indicator who are still on the expedition and who had returned to the camp. You can easily play without them. They mostly add a flavor. In my opinion, the bigger the group is, the more helpful they are to indicate who had already returned. Nothing more.
Sad to hear you didn't enjoy this game so much. At 4:55 she mentions that the joy the game brings depends largely on the group you're playing with and I fully agree with that. Me and my friends have absolute blasts with this game but I had a worse/boring experience in another gaming group. To me this game is amazing when not taken too seriously with lots of roleplaying and silly jokes. It might also be that you're just not into the "push your luck"-genre since these games rely more on the luck aspect and less on the strategy aspect you mentioned. There's different tastes in this hobby and that's all fine. Cheers!

Ur format is excellent. Hope to see more of ur reviews.
One of the best push your luck games ever designed.

I love her accent
Great fun game!
8/10? How? I despise this game, theres zero strategy to it, might as well play chutes and ladders. 2/10
Lol, you didn't watch the video or something...? xD
