My 9 year old daughter and I are looking forward to trying this recipe with the tomatoes she planted. How do you store this sauce? Have you had success freezing it in jars?
Another easy way to remove skin, and seeds, is to use a food mill. I have one that attaches to my mixer, and it works great to remove both skin and seeds. Just cut the raw tomatoes in have, squeeze out some seeds and toss into a stock pot. No water, just heat. Simmer for maybe 30 minutes, stirring. Softens them enough to easily run through food mill. Pureed tomato, ready to reduce for sauce.

Great question! Never thought about that, but a gentle simmer is typically small bubbles that aren't as rapid like a medium boil. If that makes sense? I typically keep it on a 3 out of 10 heat wise for a gentle simmer!

Thank you for this video. I have been looking for a tomato sauce recipe that seemed to mirror my sense of what a sauce should be.
