Thank you! Comments are being tested. I only have so much time to spend moderating this with everything else I do (coaching, Facebook group, podcasts, other videos, monthly group coaching) but as long as I can keep up I will keep them open. I have a quick trigger and little patience for spam, preaching, and trolling, but this can be a good place to support one another and I decided after episode 100 to give it a chance. :)

I can so relate to Jael's experience getting df'd while pregnant, the father who is not a JW having left, with nobody to talk to because your so-called friends are all indoctrinated. And there is so much more...
Thank you for mustering the courage to speak out about your experience with this vile cult.

Love this girl ❤️ I went through similar things in the 1970s although I was not born-in. Born-ins have a special kind of courage and intuition. It was hard enough to escape the emotional prison after only 5 years as an adult. The internet, xjw community and some awesome TH-cam channels were my survival.

I knew your uncle and aunt very well. They were great people. My dad loved them so much. My wife and I studied the family book with them before we married.

Most of the time the comments are shut off , but I'd like to express my gratitude and appreciation not only for the channel but the amazing people that come on to share their stories and experiences . Thank you honestly , it's much needed . I myself am an inactive witness but for the most part I've never identified with this mentally , I am an odd duck & I respect everyone's individuality even if I may not always understand it . Please continue this great work , I believe these dialogues are saving lives bc there are so many people who are scared to voice their concerns , experiences or current circumstances but they listen and or watch this & they find some peace knowing that someone else has been down that road and they came out of it alright , they find genuine hope , it takes work but it's worth it . To be able to see life through your own eyes and not the smeared lens that this group time and time again force upon it's followers is so liberating . Not everyone wants to wake up but then again not everyone wants to live in ignorance , I certainly don't care for living in ignorance or much less being lead by the blind . So again thank you . I love this channel 🤙🤟🖖♥️🙏

Thank you Jael for sharing, I could’ve listened to you for another 3 hours! ♥️
I especially related to what you said about finally being TRUE TO YOURSELF! I struggled with my feelings in that religion a good 6 years before I was finally able to break free. (33 years in) I finally learned the term for the times prior to that - cognitive dissonance.
When I watched the “Handmaid’s Tale”, I thought, we’re not any different 🥴. I tried to imagine how JW’s would react toward the “ gender traitors”, etc….which helped me come to the realization that, deep down inside I was not being true to myself. LIVE & LET LIVE! Who were we to judge?
I disassociated in 2018, it’s still a process…I’m hopeful. One thing is for sure, will never go back!! 😌

I really resonated with Jael’s story. My parents immigrated to the US in the 70’s and began to study with JW, got baptized. I was born and raised JW until I got married almost 17 years ago. As a child and teen it’s all I knew, so I believed everything that was said, all of the propaganda shown about the “world”, etc. Now as an adult and as a mother, I’m saddened to think back and realize how much I missed out on normal childhood experiences, never celebrating anything. Not even feeling special on my birthday…it was just like any other day. Feeling scared of everything that was different….”demonic” toys or cartoons 😣 I disagree with so many teachings and just question if there even is a God. Am I the only one?

Good video. As a former born in JW I HIGHLY recommend the book The Unseen Realm by Dr Michael Heiser. This book is 100% peer reviewed material and amazing! It covers topics that destroy WT and unintentionally too.. that’s not the purpose of the book but it’s really a strong polemic against WT. Heiser is an awesome ancient near east biblical scholar and Semitic languages expert. This book changed EVERYTHING I thought I knew about biblical theology.
In any case, I think this is a great book with a mountain of reference sources

The aunt could not have been a very devout Catholic, and would say she knew very little about the faith. I am Catholic and studied with JW witness to just thinking I could understand the bible better (I had read the bible cover to cover), she never did, except the JW magazines and the books. Long story cut - she knew nothing about the bible except what was brainwashed into it. In the end I stopped the study and told her not interested, not the true religion, contradictions, too many changes and predictions that failed, told her that already cried loudly to me FALSE RELIGION. She told I will be destroyed at Armageddon and so will my baby. thankfully, these days, our Catholic parish have fantastic bible study groups, we can agree, disagree, argue etc, and I wear jeans and pants to church when it is cold. I love Jesus and I thank God for opening my eyes and only hope I had sown some seeds into the JW woman, but sadly I am not sure as she was too far brainwashed.

Wow! Love this story. I'm now 48 and I was born into a first generation jw. My folks met some jw's and got into the truth and baptized when I was 2 years old so I was pretty much raised a witness. That's all I knew my whole life and sure there were some fun times. My favorite times was after memorial going to eat at the pizza arcade (Peter Piper Pizza) for us in Texas and that was always fun, eating pizza, playing in the indoor playground and of course the arcades etc meeting other witnesses from other congregations but other than that..I fucking hated it all. I hated going door to door on Saturdays while my everyone was watching cartoons eating cereal and going outside to play on their bikes and skateboards having fun but I was in a suit and tie walking door to door getting yelled at every so often and that sucked. I hated preparing for meetings all the time and as I got older I hated giving talks and it stressed me out with all the pressure. I remember when my name came up for a talk and I was like..."Ahhh Shit!" my head. Holding the mikes was okay for a while until it got boring and so I hated doing that and overall over the years getting older I hated it. Mostly the pressure and having to do bible studies I was not happy and hated it I could go on for hours and hours but I was also a misfit and was into punk and metal and was into skating and playing electric guitar and eventually I left at 16. I just couldn't take it anymore. My story has some same things related to yours but I LOVE YOUR STORY Jael and I'm glad I'm not the only one. Very good story and much love and respect to you. "STOP, LOOK, LISTEN: Luke 8:17 "For there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, nor is there anything carefully hidden that will never become known and never come to light." it is part of the new covenant that Jesus made with his disciples to eat the bread that represents his body and drink the wine that represents his blood, how will you have eternal life? (Luke 22:19,20). doctrine of men or the word of GOD?" observe (John ch 3:16,17) 16-“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever exercises faith in him may not be destroyed but have eternal life. 17-For God did not send his Son into the world that he might judge the world, but that the world might be saved through him." observe (John ch 6:53-57) 53- So Jesus said to them, "I say- to you with all certainty: Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in yourselves. 54 - He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I do. I will rise again at the last day, 55- for my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. 56- Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood remains in union with me, and I in union with him. Just as the Father who lives sent me and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on me will live because of me. the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me". notice what Jesus said: Matthew 23:13 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because they close the kingdom of heaven to men; for you yourselves do not enter, nor do you let in those who are on their way to enter." look at the Conclusion of Jesus (John ch 10: 09,10) 9- I am the door; whoever enters by me will be saved, and will enter and he shall go out, and find pasture.” 10- A thief comes only to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.

the only problem for Jehovah's Witnesses is not to take as an example what Jesus instituted in their memory, which was to eat and drink the emblems in the Lord's Supper! for it is one baptism and one hope of eternal life. Ephesians 4: 4-6 note 4- There is one body and one spirit, just as you were called in a hope to which you were called; 5- one Lord, one faith and one baptism; 6- God, unique and Father of all, who is above all, and through all and in all.

I’m happy for you. Just a few observations:
    1. You did not need a LETTER when you ‘officially’ joined the Jehovah’s Witness cult; you DON’T need a letter to exit. Leave that religion ON YOUR TERMS, not theirs.
    2. Many Jehovah’s Witnesses REALLY wish to be in your shoes. They’re just scared of being disfellowshipped.
    3. The TRUTH is a person named JESUS Christ. The Jehovah’s Witness organization is nothing but a book publishing company.
By the way, for a 50 year old, you look good. 👌
    STAY HAPPY.

The cult of Jehovah's Witnesses once condemned what the Catholics do. Now they adopt it as a core foundation of everything they do. While I know it is possible to be shunned in most any religion, including Catholicism, I've yet to see the prevalence in those religions that the JWs have of shunning their members. Heck, Jehovah's Witnesses push many members to isolate from their "worldly" family members. Shunning is in their DNA. But yes, there are other groups that do it too at times. I've interviewed people from other groups but have yet to have a Catholic approach me. It's pretty much universally horrible no matter who is pushing it.
