Deep in the African Congo there are reports of a large semi aquatic half elephant half dragon beast to some known as Mokele Mbembe. Look it up reports by Europeans go back to at least 1776 the local Africans thousands of years looking into if you do desire.

If that's even true. I think the story is total BS. Do I think ultra deep volcanic tube holes exist? Yes it's totally possible. Do i think they have paranormal properties and are even 1/8 of 80,000 feet deep? Hell no! But I think there might be or have been a deep hole where they said it was.

As a young man in my 20's I used to work as a janitor in a very, very large church building that literally took up an entire city block in an old Mid-west downtown area. Many late nights well after dark I would listen to Art Bell while making my rounds.... That remains one of the most wonderfully terrifying experiences of my life.

I am not a trucker, but I listened to him too when I was younger, absolutely loved him and how well he hosted his show.
When I went to college my abnormal psychology teacher use to play some of the more strange ones and then discuss if a the person was telling the truth (even if they are misinformed) and if the person suffered from mental illness or not. His wife was my radio broadcast professor as well and she mentioned him about how good he was at not just hosting but how well he produced his shows, nearly by himself.
I got to thinking about it as I got older they both enjoyed him and they had completely different reasons .

I cannot add to or detract from Mel's Hole, but I will tell you this. While stationed at F.t Lewis Washington (1985-1991), I spent about 4-6 months a year maneuvering around Yakima Firing Center. In 1988 as a Staff Sergeant, my tank was sent to an area near a silica mine recon north of Umptanum Ridge. I thought it odd that only one tank was sent to do this. While traveling about 15-20 mph down a flat trail, I was standing chest high out of the commanders hatch scanning the open terrain.
Suddenly, our tank (M60A3) was rocked so violently that I was thrown out of the hatch and my CVC flew off my head. The event felt and sounded like Thor had swung his massive hammer and hit the side of our tank. So intense was this event that my driver stopped immediately, which fortunately allowed me to recover and not be thrown off the turret onto the ground. Everyone was yelling at the driver asking what he had hit because we had all heard the almost bell sounding strike as we were violently shook and thrown around.
My driver shut the engine down and we all dismounted the tank and walked around it and then walked the trail finding nothing. Trying to rationalize the event we blamed a mechanical failure of the suspension or something for the event. We got out tools and began to inspect torsion bars, shocks, and track components for something broken only to come up empty. Unto this day I have no rational explanation for what happened. My lieutenant never questioned what took so long and we never volunteered an explanation.
I have tried to explain it away as a subterranean fault slipped and we heard the sound and received the shock wave which shook us so violently. I even considered that Rangers, SF who train in the area, or the Army's NATIC technology group fired some type of sonic weapon at our tank. I still wonder today what happened

I grew up in this area. Never heard of Mel's Hole but in high school(mid 90s) we would have bonfire parties around something we called the "Hanford Hole". It was large enough to drop a car down it...and we did once. Never heard it hit bottom or send up smoke or anything. The sides of this hole were smooth as glass and perfectly straight and smooth as if a laser from space made it and vitrified(?) The rocks to glass as it did so. I had been telling my fiance about it for a couple years while living in Alaska where she is from. I finally got back to Washington state and was showing her various sites. We made the long drive across the state just show her the 'hole' I had spoke so many times about...and it is now surrounded by a high security fence and razor wire about 60'×60' with government warning signs posted to keep out. Bummer but not surprising. I'm am surprised I haven't heard anything about it over the years. Has anyone else???

Ryan, I haven't heard anything about Hanford Hole, per se. However, your story rings true, and I have no doubts that Hanford's has the same "origins, history, value/reason(s) for it's existence as does Mel's and the New Mexico hole. I'm surprised only that upon your return you found only one security fence. Our government is not to be trusted. There is much about these holes that remain a mystery, due to government involvement - what are they trying to hide?

It exists.I was in Seattle Jan 2019 with work just before the pandemic kicked off. A work colleague from Ellensberg asked me to come out for a night to meet his family and see the town.I did, its a really nice place. We went for a spin in the evening time to go for a small hike as we both like nature.
When we got back to the jeep, it wouldnt start and there was this really strange smell. I didnt think much of it but my work colleague started getting really anxious which made me in turn very anxious. He began to explain that there was a lot unexplained happenings and urban legends about the area. We left the van and literally ran all the way down these dirt roads to a main road. It was so eerie, you could here a pin drop, no cars, no birds, no bees, nothing.

My friend and fellow gold miner Charlie Sherpinski was in Mel's hole years ago. He lowered himself down in it on a rope but the
rope wasn't near long enough. Want to find it? Look for the foundation of Central Washington university old observatory. It's in the area below that. Charlie said the government built a barn like structure over it and a chain link fence around that with nasty warning signs on it. I think the reason the observatory was demolished is it was too close to Mel's hole and the government didn't want curious college kids around it. I know Red Elk and his fairey tales about the place. For years people from Ellensburg used to throw their old refrigerators and washing machines down the hole just to listen to them go out of earshot.

The buy out part intrigued me. If you know the story of Skinwalker Ranch in the Uinta basin the Sherman ranch is one of the most paranormal places in the world. Bob Bigelow bought the ranch and spent 4 million bucks doing research on the property. After seeing his results the DIA of the US Government then spent an additional 21 million to make sure that the phenomenon was not a security risk for the country. I saw an interview with an Army general who was asked about what he thought it was that causes all the anomalies found at the ranch and he said all he knew was it is a highly intelligent force that was one or two steps ahead of them at all times.

I have a few brave older cousins that climbed so far down they reached beach sand and finally stopped climbing down. I honestly don't think anyone knows how far down they go! I saw the most amazing thing just north of Ellensburg late one night in about maybe 1996 or so and now I'm sure it had to do with that hole. What I saw was an amazing, natural but totally contrived atmospheric spectacle: As I headed up the hill towards Yakima something caught my eye. It was like the clouds were moving really funny and were pretty bright. I pulled over and got out to see. These clouds then formed a huge white dome that went west to east and just this alone was amazing. I also noticed that over the whole valley there were these pitch black clouds, charcoal black clouds also from west to east. And as I stood there some of those black clouds began to form above me. Then, I saw a shaft of black light, like the charcoal clouds (I call them spirit clouds) shoot up through the center of the white dome. It looked like a search light except the light was black. So at this point it was like an old style speedometer in a car with the needle, the black shaft, in the middle. Then, after a minute or two, the bla k shaft moved all the way to the left and as it did the dome turned black where the shaft had moved. So now the dome is half black and half white. Then the black shaft returned to the center, point straight up and when it did the black spirit clouds that were all around the whole valley began moving toward and going down the black shaft into the earth kinda like stuff being sucked down a drain. After all the spirit clouds had gone the whole thing dissipated and the night sky looked normal again. There was one black spirit cloud that remained and followed me more than half way back to Yakima.
I have never heard of a story like this until just now when, in the Mel story a "shaft of black light" was mentioned which prompted me to recount my experience. I've never told it before in part because I had no idea what to make of it myself. Ellensburg is a cow town and thought perhaps excess methane in the air might be the culprit but I knew that that would in no way account for the contrivance of what I saw. If anyone has seen things similar to this in the Ellensburg area I'd like to hear about it. Thanks.

From all the stories I think the hole is what I theorized it to be from the start. A dimension made of dark matter and dark energy. The shaft turned the cloud black and I assume that's dark energy the shaft is made of because dark matter bends light, the two shall never meet. Photons when traveling will be distorted around dark matter if it encounters it. Spirit clouds is a good name for them. I believe the black clouds to be of the 4th dimension so it does contain malevolent beings with intelligence that are beyond the vail. My comprehension is too hard to put into words, I hope what I made sense here, but the rest of what I think is simply too hard for me to verbalize as it's a comprehension.

My experience in life was limited to watching two large water spouts during a powerful storm as I sat near the coastline chatting on my cb radio (The water makes a perfect ground plane for transmitting). They both twisted and turned around each other as if dancing. But even just that tiny bit of seeing mother nature in action was absolutely incredible. Can only imagine what you saw on such a large scale would have been like.

I've been studying this off and on for about 10 years, and have been pleasantly surprised on several trips up near Umtanum falls and Manastash ridge to find how vast and difficult this area is to search accurately considering the respect for government property, private property, road laws, and seasonal fire closures. I've personally seen the black beams coming from this area, whether they are more closely related to the Yakima Firing range or Mel's hole is still up in the air for me. Now when I am out hiking in these areas between Manastash Lake and Umtanum Falls area I'm actually more not wanting to find something weird like this if it really exists, since the consequences of stumbling across an anomaly like this would not go unnoticed to whoever may be guarding this secret. To even test if it were the real hole, you would have to throw something down it or have a rope several hundred feet long just to verify that it may be the hole. I don't think very many people hike with enough fishing line or rope to even test the validity of any well or hole that may be found in this area. Without a government sanctioned permit or private property ownership release waiver, no one would legally be able to test it if found either. Then of course, many people would not want an anomaly like this to exist if found since it would refute their paradigm on local/"global" geology. What's the explanation of Carlsbad caverns and the Kola super deep. These holes or natural caves are still only permitted to be looked at or studied by certified experts.

He's heading west on Manastash Rd and the 2 locations are approximately 6.5 miles apart. In the video where he's at the entrance, you can hear water flowing and there's a creek that runs alongside those mountain faces. I'm trying to find the road that he's on when he's at the actual entrance, but there's not a lot of street view locations off the main road so it's hard. I'm sure it's around there though, we can see their direction of travel and I've matched the other 2 visuals in the video successfully.
A few important points surrounding the entrance to help find it if anyone wants to help me from here:
    1. It's on a white gravel road
    2. There's very luscious vegetation surrounding it
    3. It seems to be part way, or most of the way up a hill or a mountain - Very dark or black in colour
    4. There are trees bordering the driveway
    5. The driveway goes very abruptly to the right and uphill
    6. Across the road from the entrance, there seems to be either a white sign or a fence (7:14)

Everytime I hear "the government," my first question is "What government?" Was it the city council? The FBI? The Department of the Interior? The State Board of Licencing? Seriously, everyone connected with this story heard "the government" and just left it at that?

Conspiracy theorists are rarely rational and almost never have a realistic grasp on how the world really works, so yeah, they just think of "The Government" and leave it at that. The "New World Order" used to be a popular bogeyman, but now we have "The Deep State" that many of them blame for everything now.

I live in a tiny Town west of Yakima called tampico. I've been to Mel's hole once and I'll never go back. A few years ago I took my klr650 out towards the wenas and followed an old road for several miles looking for Manashtash lake. Well, after several miles on this old road I noticed an even older road branching off of it, so I took it. After about 1 1/2 miles the road ended so I parked my bike and walk into the woods to look around and take a leak. I came to a clearing and in the middle of it was a circular hole. I walked up to it and looked down into it, it appeared bottomless. I got a very creepy vibe in the vicinity of the hole. I wanted to see how deep it was so I searched around and behind a clump of bushes right by the hole was an old engine block. I rolled the block a few times and it tumbled into the pit. As I lay listening to see if it had hit bottom I heard a crashing in the brush behind me and as a look of terror crossed my face a goat raced out of the brush behind me, flew across the clearing, and jumped right into the hole!!! As I lay there stunned by what I had just seen I heard another sound coming through the brush again. I prepared my self for the worst fearing what might step out. Then out steps an old Mexican man who looks around the clearing and then at me and then he says " hey amigo, have you seen my goat? It was tied up to an engine block right here."

Before you laugh about this hole, true or not, it's worth mentioning Hanford (the biggest nuclear reservation in the world) is only about an hour or so east of this area. The Gov't chose that area for very specific reasons and came in and literally kicked people out of their houses in the small towns that were anywhere close to the site. Eastern Washington is a very interesting place. Ellensburg is also very close to the Cascade mountain range as well, home to the majority of bigfoot sightings. There could be something to this hole, it wouldn't surprise me at all.

There are plenty of strange holes all over the USA alot are on the Continental divide , dwelling deep into the Earth, some Navajo say that's where the monsters dwell and can be seen once in awhile from the era of the hero twins , and some even believe that's where the rake comes from , like the Navajo creation stories there are four world's intertwined among each other or on top of one another , my son's an advent hiker and has come across some endless holes he mapped out from mcgaffey area up towards shiprock , he says some just drop off to nothing after twenty- thirty feet down and glow sticks hed bring would continue to drop for five to seven seconds before just vanishing into darkness . Idk my son goes to these places after hear say , he has more guts than I do crawling down into caves or holes , some are just about enough size for him he says and some you could bring a horse in only so far .

Enjoyed the video! Saw someone in the commments section of a Bedtime Stories (A channel on TH-cam here) talking about this as a suggestion for a vid. Decided to look it up and found this vid. If the claims about the land being taken are true then that is strange. I don't know enough about the situation to comment whether or not I believe it, but it's always interesting to watch stuff like this. I'm a sucker for stuff in the vein of unsolved mysteries or paranormal stories. I think there are too many stories out there to discredit everything people claim they are seeing. I'm not sure what people are seeing or experiencing, but I believe that they are not just crazy.
