I always thought that the reason Henrik fell was because he used the mercuric sulfide to make the handprint, making him woozy and causing him to trip on the stairs.
You forgot the one thing that bothers me most about this game: it's called Secret of the Scarlet hand, but we *never learn what the Scarlet Hand means*!
A personal problem I have: Beech Hill is located at the Brookland CUA metro stop, which is not at all a suitable place to open a museum, seeing as it is probably one of the sketchiest neighborhoods in all of Washington, D.C. :p
Another thing that bugged me: Joanna tells Nancy that she can pick up Henrick's mail for him (if he gets any). Do you know much time I spent looking for his mail that never actually existed as a task? Too much time.
Henrik was totally high when he fell. that's why we couldn't investigate. also, Henrik is my fav. but I totally raised my eyebrows at him muttering Nancys name. 😂
Given how many times I’ve played this game (and watched your everything wrong with video) I’m embarrassed that it’s taken me this long to pick up on this, but I’ve got something to add if you ever make a part two of this video: Joanna says (in reference to the Pacal carving) that there isn’t another piece like it in the world, yet a considerable portion of the game is spent collecting jade pieces that are very much like the Pacal carving!
Argulphump, you made a mistake concerning 93-102, you can beat the game if you have Jonna kicked out before calling Prudence. What happens is that only three of the keys(Copan, Pascal, and East) must be completed in sequential order. If you don't call prudence before this sequence begins then you must gain at least the Pascal key. Then you can call Franklin Rose twice and finally call Prudence to get the South key. I do that all time when I play the game. Sure it's annoying because it takes two or more days to arrive but you can beat the game regardless of when you call Prudence. It's just more convenient to get the South key earlier to make it easier and get that long call out of the way. So that sin count is entirely false because you can call Prudence after gaining the Pascal carving.
Here is my biggest complaint of the game. Why does Nancy stand still and just let Taylor Sinclair lock her in that tomb. If it was happening to me, I would be rushing the bad guy with fists flying.

I’m really irked that No one even bothers to pay Nancy a penny for her detective work. It’s not cheap for her to travel everywhere and no detective works for free. And no, Nancy, you don’t get to excuse yourself by passing it off like a side hobby; it’s practically your full time profession! They need to address this or call attention to this issue in later games,
Having a reasonably wealthy lawyer for a dad probably gives her plenty of money for various trips. Alternatively, she might be using money from a college trust fund that she didn't end up needing. Of course that still doesn't explain why Nancy never bothers to bring any money with her on various trips. Ghost dogs would have been 40% shorter if she had a $20 on her...
Her father is rich, and the people she solves mysteries for could very well be paying for her travel, lodging, and food expenses. At no time does Nancy ever say she or her dad are paying for everything.
In addition to the good points made by the previous comments (Nancy's dad is wealthy; people she's helping may be providing her with free and board), Nancy actually can't take any money. In most states it is illegal to practice private detective work without a PI license. Since Nancy isn't licensed it would be illegal for her to take money in most instances.
125. From the very beginning of the game, several conversations with Henrik are marked as already having been done for some reason (events 161, 166, 170, 171, and 177) as well as event 108 with "FJ". If you uncheck event 177 in the CM, you can ask Henrik in the hospital if the travel buddy in his notes was Taylor. Henrik says it was and that he wonders what ever happened to the guy. Well, Henrik should know that Taylor was the one who helped procure the monolith for the museum so I guess that's why this dialogue was removed. You can also uncheck event 170 to ask Henrik why he left a red handprint if he wasn't the real theif. There is an easter egg in the game files that apparently no one has been able to find in the game. It's inventory item number 6. Have you ever tried to find this? Henrik has a British accent but writes the dates in his travel notes in American format instead of European format. He spells "symbolizes" in his travel notes the American way instead of the British way "symbolises". He spells labor as "labour" on his glyph translation notes but as "labor" on the paper with the riddle about how to open the monolith as well as on the copy located on his zip disk. There is no way to look at the translation notes again after picking them up 😭 Henry Daddle tells us Poppy's phone number in 7 digit format without providing an area code. So it must be a local number like Franklin Rose's right? Nope. The call won't go through when you dial that 7 digit number. You have look at the notes Nancy's laptop and then the area code magically appears there in front of the other 7 digits. Nancy says "muchos gracias" to Alejandro instead of "muchas gracias" 😬 "Attencion" in Henrik's notebook is missing the accent on the O. Joanna really butchers the line "Beech Hill sera numero uno" ... And both "será" and "número" are missing their accent marks. We also never learn what Joanna's famous line "semper ubi sub ubi" means. Taylor says it looks like the Whisperer forgot her beauty "creme" instead of "cream."
Everybody makes fun of the end and says that those characters were just standing there while Nancy was trying to escape, but I never took it that way. I always thought it occurred later on, especially since it looks so much brighter than when Nancy first went to the monolith. It appears to be the next day, after Nancy escapes. I actually like how all the non-culprit characters praise Nancy at the end of this game.

Actually, "mummy" can be used to describe a body that's kept in a small, enclosed space (like the monolith), because that affects the way the body decays.

136 - anyone else accidentally click in the wrong place at the wrong time and end up picking up the monolith stones, ONLY for them to be completely unable to actually place them on the monolith because they hadn't progressed far enough in the game for Nancy to know "these need to be attached to the side of the monolith"? I ended up STUCK, with Nancy carrying onto those things with no way to put them down before she dropped them. And of course, second chance was at the moment she picked them up. And my last save was so far back, I basically had to start almost from scratch. I. Was. FURIOUS. A bajillion points removed for that one.
Well to be fair, The Whisperer probably wasn't allowed a torch or anything when she was stuffed inside the monolith. Nancy has a big advantage in that she can _see_ what she's doing and where the bar needs to go, rather than having to blindly poke around in the dark. The Whisperer probably just accepted her fate soon after the door shut and did almost nothing after giving up. Now, why she hid the bar in her _mouth,_ specifically, instead of just dropping it or keeping it clenched in her fist, I have no explanation for, besides the boring out-of-universe explanation that the player needs to find it in a limited amount of time, which is easier when the panicked player doesn't need to also figure out that they can look at the floor.
10:20 In Spanish, the letter "u" makes the "oo" sounds, so it should be pronounced more "bool". I known it sounds like a bunch of bull, but I'm taking Spanish, so I know some of this stuff.

Once you find the pacal carving and call Franklin Rose, call him back right after and you can talk to him about Prudence and then you can talk to her. I used to have to start the game over if I forgot about this step and I’m very surprised!! 🤣

You actually can still ask Franklin about Prudence after Joanna's arrest. You just need to zoom in on the list of donors next to Joanna's office, and Nancy will note that Prudence is one of them!
It's a fun game, but it details are silly. It would have made more sense if Nancy had a paid position in the museum. She should tell the police she is working a case. The culprit should be more careful. This is the Her Interactive game where they should have introduced being able to back away from puzzles and you don't lose progress. That's why I never play it again, even though I have thought about it several times.
Are you sure you can't finish the game without talking to Franklin about Prudence first? I think if I remember right Franklin does go silent while Joanna is gone, but you can still get Joanna to come back without Prudence and then ask Franklin about Prudence.
Simple, after calling Franklin concerning Joanna, the next time you call him you automatically talk about Prudence thus she will then send you the fake South key. The only problem is it takes at least 2 or 3 days to get sent. I usually get the South key through this method. Only three of the keys are required to get in a specific order in this game and that's Copan key, Pascal key, and the East key. All other keys can be collected whenever the player decides to collect them( I think most people would get the West key first since it is the fastest one to collect, then the North key, and finally the south key depending entirely on the game's weird shipping times).
iHeartRyanStiles Yeah, what happens is that my grammar helper keeps complaining Pacal is misspelled and I just add the s to shut it up. So Pascal key is really the Pacal key I just hate seeing my grammar thing complaining and I'm lazy about adding the word into my dictionary. My bad I just added it so it will shut up.
93-102. I just made this mistake. There is a way around it, though. Once you call Rose to get Joanna back, you can call again to get him to give you Prudence's info.
Did you notice that when you look at the telephone in Nancy's hotel room it has the letters Q & Z on the number 0 when they should be on the numbers 7 & 9, respectively?
Henricks voice is the same for the final scenes magician robot in the basement .. this game just proves how hard it is for the artists I love these games though still flaws and all

9:28 stopped me so many times as a child who didn't have the internet. Beyond the constant reminder it was an educational game, that just kills it for me. Too much information and softlocking. Plus, after The Final Scene right before it, I was done with the word, "Maya." 😅

Interesting; I have some ideas too for games
1) A mystery in the Bermuda Triangle
2) A mystery about Amelia Earhart
3) A mystery in outer space
4) My favorite idea; seven of the most dangerous culprits team up to get revenge on Nancy
Number four's pretty interesting, given how many of Nancy's culprits swear revenge, but why seven? Wouldn't that get kind of tangled?
I thought that was a good number, not all of Nancy's culprits can team up, some reformed, some are younger, and Secret of the Old Clock took place in the 1930s, I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't beaten all the games so I won't use the culprits by name but I was thinking

You actually can still ask Franklin about Prudence after Joanna's arrest. You just need to zoom in on the list of donors next to Joanna's office, and Nancy will note that Prudence is one of them!

It's a fun game, but it details are silly. It would have made more sense if Nancy had a paid position in the museum. She should tell the police she is working a case. The culprit should be more careful.
This is the Her Interactive game where they should have introduced being able to back away from puzzles and you don't lose progress. That's why I never play it again, even though I have thought about it several times.

Are you sure you can't finish the game without talking to Franklin about Prudence first? I think if I remember right Franklin does go silent while Joanna is gone, but you can still get Joanna to come back without Prudence and then ask Franklin about Prudence.

Simple, after calling Franklin concerning Joanna, the next time you call him you automatically talk about Prudence thus she will then send you the fake South key. The only problem is it takes at least 2 or 3 days to get sent. I usually get the South key through this method. Only three of the keys are required to get in a specific order in this game and that's Copan key, Pascal key, and the East key. All other keys can be collected whenever the player decides to collect them( I think most people would get the West key first since it is the fastest one to collect, then the North key, and finally the south key depending entirely on the game's weird shipping times).

iHeartRyanStiles Yeah, what happens is that my grammar helper keeps complaining Pacal is misspelled and I just add the s to shut it up. So Pascal key is really the Pacal key I just hate seeing my grammar thing complaining and I'm lazy about adding the word into my dictionary. My bad I just added it so it will shut up.
93-102. I just made this mistake. There is a way around it, though. Once you call Rose to get Joanna back, you can call again to get him to give you Prudence's info.
Did you notice that when you look at the telephone in Nancy's hotel room it has the letters Q & Z on the number 0 when they should be on the numbers 7 & 9, respectively?
That's actually pretty normal, at least for phones around that time period. Not sure if they've changed that; my landline was bought in 1999.

Henricks voice is the same for the final scenes magician robot in the basement .. this game just proves how hard it is for the artists I love these games though still flaws and all
