+Skipper Tripper Gutting out citizen united, raise taxes on the top 1% back to pre-reagan era, resurrecting glas-stegall act, breaking up too big to fail banks, levelling the playing field by making elections publicly funded, investment in rebuilding the crumbling infrastructure, raising the minimum wage, bringing back tuition free public colleges, bringing about a single payer universal healthcare system, bring about paid family leave, demilitarizing the police in favour of community policing, tearing down the private prison system, legalizing marijuana and then some! Those are *some* the reasons why The People support Sen Bernie Sanders.

    • @THELANKANCOMRADE

Skipper Tripper oh a government hating republican.
-citizens United is legalized bribery, it allows corporations to pour billions into the political process, it doesn't help people, who ever gave you that idea ? Do you really think these corporations care about the average American ? Power to the already powerful wealthy not the people!
-Raising taxes on the rich will help big time, don't think it will wipe out the debt overnight but the deficit can be. The tax level sanders is proposing is lower than the what used to be during the pre-Reagan era and America was doing great with a healthy middle class. How much of new income generated by the growing economy do you think went to the middle class in the last 15 years ? it's close to ZERO!
-Ever realize why big government favors these banks ? Banks-pump-money-into congress ring any bells ?
The banks are bigger than what they used to be and they need to be broken up! Glas-Stegall has already been reintroduced by Sanders and Warren.
sanders does not want bigger government he wants *effective * government you know the one that actually works for the American people and not just the super powerful.
-publicly funded elections means that the candidate with the actually support of the *people* and not the special interests have more funds to further his campaign. Look at how successful Sanders has been at raising money for his campaign. The playing field will be fairer and vast amounts of money won't be spent on trying to prop up candidates with less than 1% of the vote. This also means there will be less corruption in the political process.
-Rebuilding the crumbling infrastructure is not big government controlling everything, it's going to be a massive nationwide effort much like in the days of FDR with his New Deal, he was building roads, bridges, railways, waterways, dams etc the highway system is one achievement of it. Small business what is that ? They cannot come close to initiating such an undertaking.
-Never heard of the days when America led the world with free public college ? how did we pay for it then ? Maybe if we don't have students graduating with mountains if debt we would have a stronger workforce that have the money to further invest in their future than spend the rest if their lives paying down their debt. Is $65 Billion too much to make every public college tuition free ? -(www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2014/01/heres-exactly-how-much-the-government-would-have-to-spend-to-make-public-college-tuition-free/282803/)
was it too much when the US spends $660 billion on defense and recently raised that amount by the new budget deal passed in congress ? There will be a Wall Street speculation tax of less than 3% which will more than pay for college and will help in reducing the kind of risk taking that got us the 2008 crash.
-A universal healthcare system like that proposed by sanders will be far more cost effective than the mess in states. Europe, Canada, Japan have single payer systems and they work brilliantly. -(www.pnhp.org/sites/default/files/Funding%20HR%20676_Friedman_7.31.13_proofed.pdf)
privatizing healthcare and using profit motive is immoral, healthcare should never be about profits. A single payer system will ensure that every American regardless of income can get quality healthcare without breaking their banks with giant medical bills. It might even put America ahead of at least the next 36 nations than have better healthcare systems than the US. - (www.businessinsider.com/best-healthcare-systems-in-the-world-2012-6?op=1&IR=T)
-what kind if logic is that ? Demilitarize police but since socialism militarise it again ? Sanders wants the demilitarization of the police and encourage *community* policing where the police actually become a part of the community and not like a private military corporation.
What I think you have backwards is almost everything from socialism to your logic.
-Abolishing the private prison system is not the same as big government. it means private corporations make money off of putting people in prison. You talk so much about this big government problem, maybe if that government actually works for the Americans people you wouldn't be so weary of it.
-Sanders want to *decriminalize* marijuana and that's a good thing but his policy won't work because he is not going to legalize everything drug out there!? one at a time.

Donald Trump is a joke. He is a real estate mogul, was never in a government position (such as Senator or Representative), and (let's face it) is just plain rude. He does not actually answer any questions posed to him. "Building a wall" and "making Mexico pay for it" (I still haven't worked out how he plans on doing that) are not answers to problems. He would be TERRIBLE at foreign relations (like I said, he's so rude), cannot fact check himself once, is Islamophobic, and the list just goes on and on.

I bet you believe "trickle down" economics actually works and a "small government" dictates who you can marry and what women can do with their own bodies. Do you think evolution and global warming are liberal conspiracies and that Carly was telling the truth about the supposed Planned Parenthood video?

Skipper Tripper "colleges are just liberal propaganda indoctrination camps"
      Wow, so much projection!
So teaching facts, literature, critical thinking skills and established scientific theories is propaganda/indoctrination? You may want to look up what those terms mean because you seem very confused.
Sorry, but religion is indoctrination and the right wing is the one trying to denigrate science and push creationism and prayer in school and voodoo "trickle down" economics in addition to trying to pit people against each other - the "makers"/"takers", the evil gays, lazy blacks and illegal immigrants trying to take your job! The war on Christianity! Obama's an America-hating Muslim! Hillary issued a "stand down" order in Benghazi! Obama is going to confiscate your guns! Global warming is a global liberal hoax! The U.S. was founded as a Christian nation! It's amazing how many lies the GOP spews.
Sadly, you've fallen for the right wing propaganda and don't realize it.

The whole time the moderators where just trying to instigate a fight between the candidates. And then they asked about fantasy football and should it be regulated, that's a stupid question, as a voter idgaf about fantasy football. Then later that day on FOX the anchor lady said "they were talking about fantasy football apparently since I guess they had nothing to talk about" Just proves how Marco Rubio was right about how Democrats have the biggest super PAC ~ mainstream media.
Those weren't hard question like people say they were, they were bullshit questions that they would never ask the Democrats in a debate, lets see if in the next democratic debate they ask the same "difficult questions"

The local stations are typically affiliates.
BTW, the DFS thing wasn't bullshit. It's a relevant question about illegal gambling and taxation had it been chosen to be answered adequately. That said, it was a softball question and probably didn't deserve to be in the debate, but it's existence proves there were softballs, and if they were so deadset on fucking over Republicans, they wouldn't have asked it, so it completely contradicts this notion of a liberal media. If anything, it shows a sensationalist and paper-thin media. Not a liberal one.

    • @z-beeblebrox
      @z-beeblebrox 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

+Luis López I think they kind of are asking BS questions to the Democrats too though. Remember the debate where Sanders had to jump in and stick up for Hillary? Sounded a lot like what candidates were forced to do here as well.
I think the media is struggling to try and appear tough on candidates, because they're terrified to be painted as always lobbing softball questions that are easy to deflect (what with their long reputation for incompetence). The irony is that, by overdoing it, they're making it even *easier* for candidates to deflect questions.

David Davidson Trump is an idiot, and his policies are what ensures he will never be president. Oh, don't worry, I'm not going to waste any more time picking on you poor Trump supporters. I said my piece, and it was funny as fuck. I know you're butthurt over the fact that your candidate is everyone's punching bag and the laughingstock of the dozen or so republican choices, and I don't see any point in rubbing that in any more than I already have. I mean, he's literally falling behind someone who is actually mentally unstable. How hilarious is that? I'm tearing up just thinking about it, from laughing so hard. And just yesterday I saw a pumpkin on someone's porch they had stuck a Trump wig on! They called it a Trumpkin! I don't think everyone has had this much fun in an election season since the founding of our nation.
I'm gonna mute this post now. You'll doubtless post some passionate, hate filled, racist retort, but let's be honest. Nothing you say is going to be relevant. I'm still going to have a blast making fun of Trump trying to get elected. I don't need to criticize his policy, because he doesn't have any chance of being president. He's just around to pull votes away from the republican candidate when he decides to run as an independent.
Now if you'll excuse me, there are more videos I need to post hilarious anti-Trump comments to. Adios!

I think the winner of this debate was Marco Rubio. I'm not a republican, but I think he was very well spoken, had a lot of time to make his points, and the questions for him were relatively easy (the hardest one was the one about skipping votes, but he was able to ignore it). I think it will be a race between Rubio and Carson in the end, and I think that Rubio will win because he's more charismatic and a better speaker than Carson.

    • @williameddy2826
      @williameddy2826 9 ปีที่แล้ว

+Alexandre Pinho You should know that Rubio`s personal finance history is a lot worse than came out in the debate . How can people like Trump or Fiorina (multiple marriages ) or people like Trump (4- 5 corporate bankruptcies ) or people like Christie ( a glutton ) or people like Huckabee (who does not know the constitution ) even make it on the stage for the leadership of a conservative party . Conservatism is all about personal responsibility whether for your health or family or managing your finances. I have not looked at the Democratic candidates but some of these Republican candidates are not very impressive.

Wow, Colbert is good at dancing around the proverbial elephant in the room, but that doesn't take much talent. The point is the moderators argued over and over with candidates, tried to correct them as if THEY, THE MODERATORS have ALL the answers, which isn't at all the job of a moderator. A moderator is supposed to introduce issues and questions and yes, sometimes it SHOULD be in a challenging way, but they're not supposed to repeatedly spar with the candidates and attempt to belittle them.
Meanwhile, we all know the next Dem debate will be yet another endless parade of softballs.
Of course, NO ONE would dare go off the deep end and ask say Hillary if we're supposed to give credibility to ANY claim of sexual assault (which I agree with) then why did she make life hell for the supposed "trailer trash" (her term, not mine) women who accused her husband of sexually assaulting them? Why hire nasty PI's to shoot nails into tires, kill their pets, trash them endlessly in the media and on and on? Oh that's right, because its a whole different deal if woman claims to have been raped by Bill, then she gets NO CREDIBILITY at all and better start watching her back!

I now find myself between a rock and a hard place as the gop is run by insane paid for neo conservatives and the democrats are run by liberal lunatics. Is there even a party for conservatives anymore? Both parties have an unstable budget and both parties want expansion of government and even more laws. Also interesting theory about trump.. Was there one of these done for the Democratic debate or is that fair and balanced?
CNBC showed themselves to be real jerks at the beginning of this debate; they changed their tunes when called on it and the public kept applauding. It's no secret that the media is liberal biased and that a great many people have been persuaded.Still a great deal of truths were told about the issues facing the country. The first question btw, seemed bogus but it brought up seeing how they responded and I'm fine with those who refused to play the game of responding to it. I liked how Trump immediately stated that first question was not asked nicely and Cruz' calling the interviewers on what they were doing.
We're really in a bit of trouble when politics are not just ran by politicians but also by journalists who are supposed to be impartial, objective and unbiased.Yet I'm still optimistic. The journalists were booed a few times including when they repeated a question to Carson that had already been answered. They didn't have their facts straight which was embarrassing and I wonder if Rick Santorum was planned all along or they had to bring him in to ask some real questions. One big truth: we have a bipartisan debt. This channel gave Rand Paul even less chance to talk.I got to like Trump a little better when he emphasize that he's OK with immigrants if they come in legally.

Becky Quick probably was the winner of the debate because when she later found her source of Trump's criticism of Mark Zuckerberg, it turned out to be Donald Trump himself, who no more than a few minutes earlier had praised Zuckerberg, denying and condemning any criticism of the man. And in doing so she showed us all that Donald didn't even know what was on his own webpage or that perhaps his allegiances change day by day. In real time we got a spectacular demonstration that the gentleman doth protest too loudly. It was, regrettably, most Fox-like of Colbert (whom I admire) to be so loose with the facts and attack Becky for not knowing her source instantly, but she did carry on and get it right. So is this Colbert's War on Women?!

I like some of Bernie's policies, and I'll probably end up voting for him, but his payment methods for maintaining/expanding social security involve charging certain wealthy owners a percentage that is irrelevant to how much they get out of it, to my understanding. Taxing the rich only goes so far, and he's basically given no indication he'd be able to pass a single law with a conservative Congress. I also like O'Malley, because he's a bit more realistic about similar policies, but he's behind in the polls. I want a candidate with the non-conformist attitudes of Trump and Sanders but middle-ground, genuinely reasonable and inoffensive policies ---- No multibillion dollar walls, no outrageous corporate tax hikes *I want to tax executives of businesses more, but keep taxes on the corporations themselves low if not lower, and focus on closing loopholes*. I want tough negotiations with Putin and Assad to eradicate ISIS and limit their harm on non--terrorizing organizations in Syria (honestly if I was president I'd cut a deal with Putin and let him bring down the Assad regime himself, handing Putin Syria on a silver platter, because in my opinion, Putin is controversial but Assad has massacred his own people with chemical weapons, which makes him expendable). I want protections against free trade. I want a higher minimum wage, but lower welfare for the inexcusably unemployed *enough to live on uncomfortably, but nothing more so that a higher minimum wage would be more appealing to such people* I want America to be coal-free in 20-30 years, whether it's replaced by natural gas, renewables, or nuclear power. I'm generally socially left-leaning, and I'm Christian. On gun control, I'm all for background checks and improved early-life mental health diagnoses/treatment/social help programs, but no weapon bans. Most mass shooters are socially isolated men in their teens-early 20s, not convicted felons; we need to start diagnosing and influencing those people away from violence and towards sociability before they become violent.
Will ANYONE here, sell me on a candidate that fits my needs, because the Reps and Dems do not seem to meet them.
That's my political resume. Go on, shoot. Change my mind if you like.
