I own a 1999 E430 saloon and two 2001 E55 AMG station wagons. Solid build, especially the E430. The V8 engines in both the E430 and E55s are very powerful, sturdy, and a delight to drive. The E55s are pure joy and amazingly fast. I believe they were nicknamed "autobahn bruiser" for the way they ate up the autobahn in Germany.

w210 did have 5.0 engine, from 1996 to 1999. M119 V8 came in 4.2, 5.0 and 6.0 liters

got me a dodge magnum, even tho its cheap american made it runs great! for a 2005 its only got 47k miles and rust free. its such a boat but its good for hauling grandpas lawnmower n more!

So our Mercedes didn’t make this from factory and they should’ve. You can get a BMW 540 ITE 39. The bill quality will not be as good as this but like from factory 6 speed v8
If they made this, they it would be $50k today and nobody would sell them. I love the E39 estate, but it didn't come in 540i/6spd combo unfortunately :(

Which transmission was this from?
Chrysler crossfire, but you can use c320, SLK320 and C300 trans
Just wanted to make sure - with the swap, you were able to keep 4Matic?
The manual is fantastic, but would the 722.6 transmission from the E55 also mate up with the 4 Matic?
The car wasn't originally a 4matic so it was kept RWD. In europe, between 1999 and 2001 they had a limited run of 4matic E55s. Why we live in the US and don't get any of the cool stuff is beyond me. 1999 was 25 years ago...do what you will with that information.
From what I can recall. The 4matic can be M113 swapped as well. However the manual portion would be tougher
