The good humor in this piece always blows me away. This is an amazing performance!
What a marvelous interpretation!!! Since first hearing this piece circa 1957, I've always loved it, but this recording brings out its full brilliance -- as if we never really knew the piece before.

Wunderschöne Interpretation dieses einzigartigen doch perfekt konstruierten Quintetts im veränderlichen Tempo mit mildem Ton der Flöte, herrlichem Ton der Oboe, bezauberndem Ton der Klarinette, brillantem Ton des Horns und tiefem Ton des Fagotts. Der dritte Satz klingt besonders schön und auch lyrisch. Die intime und perfekt balancierte Miteinanderwirkung zwischen den fünf Virtuosen ist echt bewundernswert. Echt faszinierend wunderbar!
Je suis extrêmement Françaix pour ce qui concerne la musique du 20ème siècle...
