- There has been a revival in Congress' performance in the recently concluded Lok Sabha election, but its strike rate in their stronghold seats was much lower than BJP.
While, South and East continue to be difficult zones for BJP, North and East continue to be difficult zones for Congress. More than half of BJP’s strong and very strong seats are from North of India, and Half of Congress’ strong & very strong seats from South of India.

What a cloun. Middle class didn't vote for modi because of no benefits given to Middle and upper middle class, general caste people for last 2 terms.
I am shocked that this guy even gets an audience. He does no polls, does not go to the field and still qualifies as an 'analyst'. All he does is to use CSDS data and offer post-facto analysis. Who is he? I can understand Barkha inviting him. But why do major platforms such as India Today call him?

Head to head contest point has an error. Barring MP, RJ, Gujarat, HR all other states congress was having a bigger Ally than itself and thats the reason for improved performance
Politics is v volatile. Anything can happen tomorrow so every party perform well and work for the people.
Under present situation Congress can not be single major party it can happen only when the Italian family packs of from the party and Shashi tharoor like person takes the charge the seats gained by Congress and the Rahul ji is dancing are just by the gratis of regional parties like SP

This is a typical run-of-the-mill approach when, as soon as the BJP gets a setback, the narrative is always about whether and, if yes, how Congress can take advantage of it. Once again, it shows a lack of objectivity and a lack of appreciation of the fundamental difference between the BJP and Congress in India and in Indian polity.
Let me dwell on a few truths to understand this:
1. Congress starts with a huge advantage versus the BJP. They have a 15% head start in elections thanks to minorities. Minorities will never ever, repeat, never-ever, vote for BJP.
2. Out of 80% of Hindus in India's population, 35 are viscerally anti-Hindu and have no hesitations to become anti-India if they feel something can hurt Hindus. This includes the Hindus comprising Dravida, Communists, the Left-liberal cabal of Khan Market gang of intellectuals, and more than 90% of the establishment, which consists of the bureaucracy, Judiciary, and media. This 35 out of the 80% Hindus will never ever vote BJP.
3. one can readily see that the BJP starts with a losing handicap even if Congress is full of donkeys and not human beings.
4. Modi's remarkable achievement in 2014 and 2019 is the brilliant efficiency with which he coalesced the remaining 45% and received a huge proportion of their votes.
5. He cannot slip one bit on the treadmill to get this 40% out of his 100%domain of 45% of India's population. But all that Congress needs to do is play some micro-local shenanigans at the most to topple Modi from the treadmill.
6. Despite the tremendous headstart, Congress loses ONLY due to its own ineptness and foolishness. It is like a kid who struggles with 3-digit long division in Arithmetic when the BJP can handle Algebra, Trigonometry, and Calculus.
7. Given the configuration of Indian voters and the mental wiring of a large section of Indian Hindus, it will be impossible for the BJP to keep running on the treadmill. With a slight sluggishness, they face a setback.
8. In a way, it is best for the BJP and also India that the BJP has some debacles so that their machinery can bounce back with renewed vigor. People will soon get tired of Congress and go back to BJP.
9. To my mind, the only risk in this postulate is that when the Congress comes to power, it will sell the country to India's adversaries like China or Pakistan and take it to irreversible lengths, making the democratic mechanism in India inept at dealing with entrenched forces.

Bharkha, why don't we compare 2024 election with 2014 election , bcos 2019 was mostly about nationalism.
Also I would like to know, if Mr . Modi is not there , how does BJP does on its own in the elections .....before Modi, indians did not like BJP so much as a party .....

The strike rate means nothing. Congress was fighting BJP is its most powerful strongholds. So naturally any inroads is a great achievement. To prove my point, look how well Congress did against BJP in Kerala that is not one of its strongholds. All this is just talking points for people like Burka Dutt who is the pocket of the PM

Rahul Gandhi must also pay Rs 1 lakh to all the women who are part of the "khata khat" initiative. Additionally, he should provide free petrol and diesel to all students, women, and individuals over 60 years old. Implementing these measures would turn Karnataka into a bankrupt state, akin to Greece.

Whatever seats got now for BJP that is because of Modi. (Am not saying, but Modi saying so) It means after Modi BJP will down to 2 digit level. For your information GANDHI will remain forever in people's heart forever, but not Modi. Pls note..
