A RRS is a better car than a F pace (Velar) so it’s obvious at that type of money Sport SVR makes more sense and holds loads more value on the used market
@John Guidetti depends on where u live..that's highly incorrect here in miami. I see rrs for 67k. I've yet to see a pre face lift fpace svr that cheap. Cheapest one is 75k
Had an FPace SVR on a days test drive and came very close to buying one. Won’t go into the reasons for not buying one here, but it’s by far the best car I’ve ever driven!
I’m going to get one… genuinely the best car for the money - and some. I’m got a 21 F-Pace petrol, which has been replaced by a phev400… so to replace we’rlooking at a cayenne, RR sport, defender, can’t find anything that touches the SVR. Stelvio Q, forget it. Levante for get it. X anything, yawn. SQ8… soft limiter and impossible to park anywhere. SVR=smile on face. Job done.
Loved mine which was the latest version on a 71 plate. I actually was embarrassed by the polished pipes and thought about blacking them out. Two other comments ,mpg was dire for local driving but pretty acceptable on long runs. I found it was too wide for the lanes I frequently drive and combined with the mpg the reason I let it go. It was better screwed together than my 991.2 GTS and I had no issues with it. Actually I enjoyed it more than the GTS. Miss it a lot. Forgot to mention privi pro was the best system I have used and that includes my BMW system 7 which is very overrated.
This car is incredible! I drove one recently and found it amazing. It's the same price as the base model iPace! This car is better built and sounds amazing!
I like that it’s still got traditional shocks and springs, shouty tail pipes, gold (mildly dehydrated pee) coloured wheels. And doesn’t look as vulgar as the new RR or it’s competitors. I think jag have hit the nail on the head with styling.
I have owned the 2019 model for two years. Still love it, it has such punching acceleration and sounds wonderful. They are so rare, the "how many left" website shows just 1300 in the UK. As for fuel consumption, the best I have managed on a journey from South Devon to/from Heathrow is 31.5 mpg, on premium fuel. My wife said I was wasting my money on that, but using E10 the best I have managed is 25.5. That's obeying motorway speed limits and driving sensibly. My old 1988 XJ 3.2 never managed more than 27 mpg, 240 HP, v/s 550 HP. That shows how much efficiency gain has occurred over the years. Maybe I will upgrade in the final production year of these fine cars. I do miss the smoothness of the old XJ on bumpy roads, that's the only downside as far as I am concerned, but there are very few roads where it is a problem.
You’re so right. I currently run an 21 F Pace P400 - the 3 litre 400 ho petrol one. It is a fabulous car. In 52 years of driving it’s the most competent A-B car I’ve ever owned. And it was great in the recent snow too. The computer system has been a pain in the bum with its tendency to do bizarre things. But it doesn’t matter as soon as you start driving you forgive it all - and Barrett’s of Ashford the main dealer have been exemplary in their support of the computer problem’s. Why people buy BMW and Audis instead of these I don’t know. Just waiting til March when hopefully the SVR arrives!! And you are wrong about one thing - the exhausts look GREAT. It’s a performance car and needs a to be a bit shouty. If you are reading this and you’ve never driven an F Pace (even the 2litre diesel is really nice!) go drive one.
Just tried a Maser Grecale Trofeo. Very fast and capable, but completely forgettable (on mute). This Jag sounds devine and how the Maser should have sounded. Kudos to Jag and great review as usual!
Harry, I really like the fact that thus is a sleeper car, without too many visual clues to the fact it us a limited edition car. Unlike the RR Sport you reviewed last week, this F Pace SVR is lighter, more agile and has a great sounding engine. However, the best part is that thus car is an absolute bargain when compared to similarly specced rivals......onky wish I could find the money to buy one. 😂😂

JLR have started making their engine looms out of a plant based soy plastic.. rodents love it.. my friends 3 month old discovery has been destroyed, they have eaten the loom.. 7k to fix.. 12 other cars parked on the farm.. never had and issue.. JLR not interested and trying to say its not their fault.. NFU solicitors on the case.. I know Porsche have the same issue.. cheers Gilly
I once drove the ‘normal’ F pace SVR and throughly enjoyed it. It was very difficult not to like it. Thanks for the video, always like your considered approach. My late Brother and I used to discuss them together and makes me feel close to him by keeping watching 👍
The F-Pace SVR is the best looking SUV bar none, in my opinion. And the sound of that engine is beautiful. I have always had a soft spot for supercharged engines. Now, having said all that, I also really like the look of the VW T-Roc R. I realise that it is not the sort of vehicle you normally test, but I would REALLY like you to have a look at it. I am a retired, single guy and believe it could be the ideal 'only' vehicle for me.
I think the pipes look brilliant! They look like smooth bore cannons. The interior is lush. SVR sound is incredible as allways especially at low revs. 3.8 sec to 60mph in a suv under 100k? Yes please.
Saw one of these last week and was immediately looking them up in the classifieds! F-Pace has always been a handsome SUV and the face lift, particularly the interior update, make it very appealing, especially at that price point!
The Gen 1 did nothing for me but this one looks pretty polished and elegant as well! Looks are quite tame also, which is a plus in my book. The quad exhausts could use some dark paint. Certainly one of the last v8s out there. Design reminds me of my X3M, perhaps that's why I like it.
Being a proud 2021 F-Pace SVR and ex AMG owner, can't agree more with your review other than tailpipes. It's one if not, the best sounding V8's around so why not flaunt it!. Another plus side is the non-turbo lag due to normally aspirated supercharger, giving instant power equal to any EV.
Harry, an owner of XE the US version here. I test drove the SUVs and had been given as loaner to me while my car was for a maintenance. The regular Fpace looks like so much like BMW outside. However, the powertraiin and the engine is what make the different. The car drives like a sedan, and comparing to Epace which is a rubbish IMHO is more planted on the road. I can imagine how the special edition driving experience is, and if I had a finance to afford it I would buy it before the global EV nonsense rolls out. My XEs free 5 year maintenance is coming to the end this year and the model was phased out 3 years ago. Will get and the Jag SUV? No. However, whoever doesn't mind I would recommend to get it hands down.
Nice review Harry, thanks! Up until the Covid/supply chain issues you could pick from the SVO premium paint palette which also allowed you to choose matte versions if you were willing to pay for it. You could also choose a "bespoke" color of your own choice, again if you were willing pay and wait. Now days, as Jaguar ICE vehicles are winding down, several options are gone for good. There are also reports on that you get one key till they catch up with owners reporting months later they are still waiting. Truly the end of an era is approaching.
Fantastic cars I’ve owned old shape svr in ultra blue when the new shape came out I had to place a deposit on one . Added a big spec which bumped up the price another £13k the new shape is amazing but lacks in the areas you point out , so I gave mine straight to lister who address it especially the back end with carbon diffuser and carbon tips and the total cost wasn’t much more than this heritage addition plus you get more power and a better sounding exhaust. I choose sorrendo yellow from there premium pallet , it gets lots of positive comments everywhere I go
Wow what an amazing soundtrack. I always thought Jaguar could have made the f pace a bit more luxurious as after all it's a Jag. I've driven a few and they do feel cheap inside. However what an engine.
The sound alone the engine makes just makes you smile, but doesn't the standard SVR do the same thing? Great vid thanks Harry.. Project 8 still the king👍
I never understood why anyone would want an X5, GLE/ML or Q7 instead of one of these. I hope Harry's video helps Jaguar win some market share over the overwhelmingly German competition. They are great cars. I'm not in the market for a large SUV myself, but this is what I'd pick if I were.
BMW SUV´s are absolute definition of a crap in comparison to Daimler. Daimler is also crap imcomparison to SQ7. I drive Audi Q7 3.0 Benzin and having droven all the rest Audi is a fabulous machine. No idea about Jaguar tbh.
@@cp4512 I think perceived reliability is the real problem. Somehow, 40 years on, the shadow of British Leyland seems to hang over Jaguar, particularly among British buyers. My experience of BMW and Audi reliability (new cars in both cases) has been bad.

This is exactly why Land Rover need a healthy Jaguar. You could not and should not do what Jag have done here to the Range Rover Sport because as you say, it would rob it of it's 'Land Rover-ness'. People don't expect that from a Jaguar. This is how JLR compete with BMW, Audi, Porsche etc. for road going SUV's whilst retaining the unique abilities of Land/Range Rover. It would be completely wrong to see a LR version of this in a Velar model. I really don't understand why JLR seem to think Jag can be some kind of Bentley competition. Great review as ever!
not going to lie was looking forward to this video I found it amazing to drive , ive ordered one after my Range Rover svr , think I will stick to the black one ive ordered , thanks for your comment that I had made the right choice now I feel I have ;))
To my eyes it's definitely the best proportioned SUV. Good to see they've upgraded the interior too - always a negative aspect of the first generation. Can't help but think the standard car is a better buy however. Maybe it is just me but I always look at 'special edition' variants sceptically - historically a common thing just before a model is phased out! I see the brand being in a tricky predicament at the moment - I really hope they don't go the way of Saab!
Putting a second spoiler on massive SUV as a celebration of an 80's racing team. This is peak modern automotive industry fuckery. As time goes on my passion for cars is fading more and more.
4:41 the exhausts are perfect, much better than some of the fakery out there from other makes, or exaggerated trim/surrounds. Long live proper tailpipes!
Thank you once again Mr Harry for this great car review. I always had a soft spot for the Jaguar F-Pace. And now I’m even more convinced that this is a great car.
Amazing car and sound. Its a shame I keep hearing nothing but bad news on the financial situation of Jaguar. Sincerely hope they can hang on and recover.
It's a shame that the world's worst automotive CEO, Thierry Bollore, killed off Jaguar. That's why nobody is seeing this, because he refused to build any Jaguars so that he could kill off the brand to relaunch it as a EV Bentley competitor. Blamed the semiconductor shortages too, whereas every other marque has navigated this with relative success. Jaguar should be building in the hundreds of thousands, and releasing new models to compete with the 1-Series and A-Class, yet Bollore wanted to decimate Jaguar and move to compete with Bentley, who produce a tiny fraction of the cars that Jaguar does. Little wonder why the Renault board voted to sack him, a unanimous vote. Thankfully he's left now, but the new CEO needs to scrap every bit of Bollore's plan in order to save Jaguar. And today is already too late. £20k for a paint job isn't worth considering. There's really nothing special about this special edition. Although the interior is definitely better looking than the DBX. Exterior too.
I have it for 3.5y. Oyster aniline, SV Petrolix. Daily driven by wife & kids, including 2 pregnancies. Mine for longer trip, or kids fun to playground out of city. We have decided to replace it!!! Bought California 6.1 + planning to buy some EV or smaller SUV. Initial research, some tests for bmw, Porsche etc. And it stays! 😂 It is a bargain. comfortable, sound, aniline leather quality. Not common. It is amazing how suspension works and how fast that car is on highway and faster B-roads. It makes 100-200kmh in 9s (it is very quick car). Love suspension and how dramatic difference is from comfort to race.
Oh that exhaust note, such an under appreciated car.! The wife loves the FPace so I reckon when I win the lottery we can compromise on one of these... 😂😂
Sounded like there was more wind noise than usual for a Jag, as if a window was open a bit. Either way, I’d consider one for sure. Thoroughly enjoyable review. Thank you Harry!😊
I really like what Jag did to refresh the F-Pace in '21 but I agree this special edition is a bit too subtle. The purple paint and gold wheels need to be bolder, à la Project 8. As for the chrome exhaust tips, we should be glad and celebrate that a vehicle in 2023 still has real exhausts at all, even if the chrome is a bit dated.
Great review Harry. Its sound, handling and price point blows any comparable vehicle out of the water. Jaguar have a winner in its class here, but typical Jaguar runs true again...they don't punch above their weight in the fanfare-come strategic marketing of their supreme vehicles, like Porsche, Range Rover or Aston Martin do! Why? Remains a mystery, a question only Jaguar can answer!😎👍🇦🇺
I really like that. The exhausts looked OTT in your garage but in some of the panning shots when it had got a bit grubby they fitted in well. I think if they were black (or even a much more subdued silver) instead of chrome they would be fine. 250kg more than a project8 is only a couple of decent sized blokes in the back so considering its an SUV I think thats pretty good. I'm still not keen on the ipad stuck on look of the screen but in general that interior looks beautifully done. I wish they would just integrate it - even if that meant simply extending a binnacle around it finished in the same leather as the dash - it would look a lot more like part of the car. I like the sound, the seats, the looks, the space, the attention to details (forged wheels still aren't common for instance), the engine and the whole general demeanor. My only big issue is that my brother is currently in the process of rejecting his i-pace after 15 breakdowns (complete, locked in place breakdowns) in 10 months. From my own experience of JLR stuff you flip a coin. They either last an age without any issues or give one problem after another. It is only ("only") £81k though which for what it is is a complete bargain.
I couldn't disagree more about the tail pipes. If I spent £100k on a V8 purple pantomime on wheels, you're goddamn right I want four big chrome trumpets poking out the back!

RIP to anyone who owns a pre facelift model now. After Harry pointed out that bonnet/hood difference, you can't unsee it 🥲
like they care, it's not a Ferrari or something
If you are concerned by the bonnet line you are certainly missing the point!🙄
BMW has / had the same with the Z3 / Z4. Completely spoiled the front end, I thought.
4:55 4:55
Had an FPace SVR on a days test drive and came very close to buying one. Won’t go into the reasons for not buying one here, but it’s by far the best car I’ve ever driven!
…..an absolute rocket ship!
Job done.
I just had this car courtesy of Jag Stratstone Cardiff for 24hrs this Saturday. Awesome car! Thanks Sam.
Of all the things about this car that "don't fit where we are with the world" the least are the chrome exhausts, Harry!
Like complaining about a mass murder’s piercings.
Afraid to ask but what did you average on local driving?
@@richardh3587 15 - 18. About 28 -30 on a long run
Why the hell would you black them out?
@@nigelk780 Well, long runs it did about the same as my stinger which is a v6 tt.
Yes, every time I think about a group C Le mans monster, I think of a family SUV.
I rolled my eyes at that too. A bloodline dreamt up by Jaguar's marketing department.
Agreed. I’d prefer them to focus on sorting out reliability rather than trying to make tenuous links to historic endurance racing.
This car is incredible! I drove one recently and found it amazing. It's the same price as the base model iPace! This car is better built and sounds amazing!
Thanks for telling us!
Those four pipes are absolutely perfect. 👌🏽
This is so much better than that rubbish RR Sport Harry reviewed recently !!
Good work Harry. Finally someone with a good word for Jaguar.
I think the chrome exhausts looks great. Refreshing that they aren't fake...
That V8! I had a 500bhp version in a 2010 XKR, still miss that sound.
Hi there Harry... interesting fact..
Those tailpipes are as beautiful as brass instruments to me :)
I am a retired, single guy and believe it could be the ideal 'only' vehicle for me.
i love watching this channel every sunday at 19:00 it's just great
I think the pipes look brilliant! They look like smooth bore cannons. The interior is lush. SVR sound is incredible as allways especially at low revs. 3.8 sec to 60mph in a suv under 100k? Yes please.
Grown men must never say lush.
Why’s that then pymp? What should I say? The interior is beutiful? It’s glorious or it’s marvellous.
@@equalevolution5563 Self explanatory mate. You know I'm right....
True pymp! Some people like to hear it.
Saw one of these last week and was immediately looking them up in the classifieds! F-Pace has always been a handsome SUV and the face lift, particularly the interior update, make it very appealing, especially at that price point!
Love your genuine enthusiasm Harry!! Great review.
I think after watching this video Harry, those 394 limited editions are going to go sharpish. What a motor that is.
OMG! The brutality of the sound😱 it's epic
No. However, whoever doesn't mind I would recommend to get it hands down.
can't lie that project 8 was just drawing my eyes in its midnight purple finish
Nice review Harry, thanks! Up until the Covid/supply chain issues you could pick from the SVO premium paint palette which also allowed you to choose matte versions if you were willing to pay for it. You could also choose a "bespoke" color of your own choice, again if you were willing pay and wait. Now days, as Jaguar ICE vehicles are winding down, several options are gone for good. There are also reports on that you get one key till they catch up with owners reporting months later they are still waiting. Truly the end of an era is approaching.
French Blue would have been my choice
Fantastic cars I’ve owned old shape svr in ultra blue when the new shape came out I had to place a deposit on one . Added a big spec which bumped up the price another £13k the new shape is amazing but lacks in the areas you point out , so I gave mine straight to lister who address it especially the back end with carbon diffuser and carbon tips and the total cost wasn’t much more than this heritage addition plus you get more power and a better sounding exhaust. I choose sorrendo yellow from there premium pallet , it gets lots of positive comments everywhere I go
Lucky you. And I mean that in the nicest way.
The steering wheel looks very Cayenne. Excellent exhaust, sounds and looks.
One of your very best Harry, your passion toward this car clear to see and hear. Thankyou for enlightening us all.
Wow what an amazing soundtrack. I always thought Jaguar could have made the f pace a bit more luxurious as after all it's a Jag. I've driven a few and they do feel cheap inside. However what an engine.
I wouldn't say one is mad for not choosing this car as I wouldn't choose any Jaguar if reliability is high on my priorities
I love the big bold functional exhaust tips.
X5 handles pretty good in comparison to GLE and Q7(bar the SQ7 which has the 48v coilovers). BMW have always been my choice due to handling dynamics.
Reliability?
@@cp4512 I think perceived reliability is the real problem. Somehow, 40 years on, the shadow of British Leyland seems to hang over Jaguar, particularly among British buyers.
My experience of BMW and Audi reliability (new cars in both cases) has been bad.
@@StarHorseLover2012 sorry the hear that the German brands have been bad to you. After a Jag and a Range Rover, my personal experiences of JLR reliability (and their customer care) were horrific; nothing perceived, all experienced personally. And if you read the pistonheads forums you’ll see many similar experiences.
Great review, great car. I was surprised at your criticism of the exhaust exits though, I think they look great.
Another great review. Thanks Harry.
I left a deposit on one recently, then decided it was a little tight in the back, so bought an X5.
Everyone time I see one now my heart sinks.
I drove both after owning 2021 X6. Ordered the SVR. Hands down winner in my estimation
It is great to hear that Jaguar has it so right. It is a brand that has style and soul, and when given freedom the engineers are fantastic.
Awesome car & sound Harry, the tail pipes are a matter of taste, value for money it has got to be up there & I think your enthusiasm & rave revue of this particular V8 should put it at the top of most peoples shopping list. On another note , being a farmers son & a car enthusiast I love your presentations & down to earth bloggs on both subjects. Good luck & keep up the good work !!
Nearly 600k Subscribers Harry! Many congrats on a brilliant channel. Love the SVR
Great review Harry. Cheers from western Canada. Have tried to convince my wife that an SVR F Pace needs to replace our current SUV. I love the 550HP 5 litre in our F type! Love that engine. Good mileage when cruising. Think I need the same smile/mile ratio out of an SUV. Cheers.
Great review. Got ours in 21, brings a smile every time we drive it. Think this one is a keeper. 😀
I love the quad chrome exhausts. If this did not have them, I would have out them in it.
The F Pace has always been a surprise. Would love to own this.
I think he likes it. I remember going in a friend’s Jaguar with the V8 supercharged engine… it is epic
not going to lie was looking forward to this video I found it amazing to drive , ive ordered one after my Range Rover svr , think I will stick to the black one ive ordered , thanks for your comment that I had made the right choice now I feel I have ;))
Love the overstated exhaust pipes. Twin exhausts have always been a core mark value of Jaguars going back to the 1960s saloons.
This F Pace SVR is A very Good Looking Super SUV.....Fast and Classy!.....9/10
I know Harry likes his Jag Projects but I trust his judgement, and this sounds good for the class of vehicles in this segment.
These have depreciated to 70k now. Definitely a good buy!
Agree with Harry on the quad chrome exhaust tips...
Other than your Project 8 the F-Pace SVR has been the most desirable Jaguar of the past ten years
4:41 the exhausts are perfect, much better than some of the fakery out there from other makes, or exaggerated trim/surrounds. Long live proper tailpipes!
Thank you once again Mr Harry for this great car review. I always had a soft spot for the Jaguar F-Pace. And now I’m even more convinced that this is a great car.
To do your part to keep Jaguar afloat.
This could be my perfect single-car garage, right there. So much of that looks and sounds right...
Amazing car and sound. Its a shame I keep hearing nothing but bad news on the financial situation of Jaguar.
Sincerely hope they can hang on and recover.
Slightly outperformed by a Kia EV6GT, which offers similar internal space and costs 60% as much. Is the handling £40 000 better?
Mazda and jaguar design the most compelling cars to look at, drive and live with. I'm a huge fan of how appropriate these cars look, feel, and drive.
Two tons, light weight. Colin chapman would be crying in his beer.
Get used to it, in a few years time showrooms are going to be filled with 3 tonne family wagons powered by electric only.
It is a bargain. comfortable, sound, aniline leather quality. Not common. It is amazing how suspension works and how fast that car is on highway and faster B-roads. It makes 100-200kmh in 9s (it is very quick car).
Love suspension and how dramatic difference is from comfort to race.
Great sounding & looking suv for sure. @Harry's garage you've still to try out a Stelvio QV if I recall well...
Best suv jaguar i well take it over any others expensive suv ❤
Can’t help to think Jaguar is on borrowed time as a brand
Oh that exhaust note, such an under appreciated car.! The wife loves the FPace so I reckon when I win the lottery we can compromise on one of these... 😂😂
Sounded like there was more wind noise than usual for a Jag, as if a window was open a bit. Either way, I’d consider one for sure. Thoroughly enjoyable review. Thank you Harry!😊
Well it is a massive brick of an SUV, so unlike a proper Jag it produces a lot more wind and tyre noise
Loved this review Harry, bang for buck this Jaguar is the best thing you can buy right now, I’ve driven a few FPaces and this is a superb fast suv,
"To celebrate a long ago win at Le Mans, we'll tart up an SUV."
/blank look/
No more saloons or coupes in production, Jag is an SUV marque
Fantastic review of a fantastic car in my opinion 🤷🏼♂️ Personally I love the exhaust pipes just poking out of the bumper 🔥🔥
I prefer this over the new Range Rover sport
I knew I’d disagree with Harry one day, these exhausts look ACE (to borrow a phrase)
Wide boy exhausts but with that sound I could forgive it! Glorious....
