Now being back in the US, my love for the Philippines has only grown more watching your entertaining reaction videos of the of the Philippines! Thank you guys for helping put a spotlight on the Philippines and our culture. Mabuhay!
So proud that University of San Carlos is included here ❤️ yes, it is very very expensive to study in these universities. I studied in USC when I was a high school student.
Del Monte Pineapple Philippines - located in Camp Philips, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. It was founded and established in 1926 by the American during the American regime in the Philippines.
Prior to the tuition increase in 2011, the Mindanao State University Marawi was one of the holder of the cheapest tuition. In your first two years your tuition is 85 pesos plus a few fees that may sums up to more or less 350 pesos. The junior and up years will cost you 100 pesos plus extra fees (extracurricular and non-extracurricular) totalling to more or less 450 pesos. Heres the "randang": if you pass all your course load your next matriculation will be marked as Tuition Priviliged meaning youre tuition is going to be free. Besides the cheap tuition pay the living expenses also was so cheap. Literally the Marawi Campus back then was for the "poor".

Thank you for featuring my Alma Mater. Yep I also graduated in the Oldest Catholic University in Asia and that is The Pontifical Royal Catholic University of Santo Tomas 🐯🐯🐯. Love you both Fernando and Vanessa ❤❤❤
I miss my uni, the University of Santo Tomas! 💛 Most heroes including our national hero Rizal have studied in both Ateneo (Highschool) and UST (college). It was also granted the title "Royal" by King Charles III of Spain in 1785 and "Pontifical" by Pope Leo XIII in 1902. This makes UST the first and only formally declared royal and pontifical university in the Philippines. The university has been visited by 3 Popes and Queen of Spain. It also served as an internment camp during the World War II and been an integral part of Philippine history. UST was originally located in Intramuros but the campus was destroyed during the war and was rebuilt in Sampaloc Manila in 1925. The Main Building was also the first earthquake proof building in the country. Some parts of the original campus were brought to Sampaloc to serve as a reminder to all Thomasians (UST students) of its great and rich history like the original facade now called "The Arch of the Centuries". We just celebrated UST's foundation last Apr 28. She's 409 years old! 💛
Fact: There has been a confusion, and even a debate on the title as the "oldest university" between University of Santo Tomas and University of San Carlos. University of Santo Tomas is the oldest university not just in the Philippines, but in the entire continent of Asia which was founded in the year 1611. University of San Carlos on the other hand, is the oldest school or educational institution which was established in the year 1595, and was granted its university status in the year 1948. -proud student of University of San Carlos ♥️
I think the best words to describe San Carlos is being the first school but not the oldest because it closed down and changed owners several times. Santo Tomas is rightly referred to as oldest existing university because it has been there since 1611 and has stayed Dominican ever since. The only interruptions to classes since the 17th century took place in WW2. Nevertheless, it neither closed down other than the war as reason nor changed owners unlike San Carlos.
There is an ongoing joke as to what course is TOUGH in some of the top universities in the Philippines. Here it goes: In University of the Philippines, MEDICINE is tough. In Ateneo de Manila University, LAW is tough. In De La Salle University, PARKING is tough.

Hello! I've been watching your videos for quiet some time now and I can't stopppp . lol . By the way, these Universities are mostly expensive especially if you have an average income in the Philippines. That's also one of the reasons why a lot of Filipinos work abroad so we can help our family members on their studies. Unfortunately, we don't have student loans unlike any other countries but most of these universities have various scholarships to offer as well. ( mostly if you are are athletic, SMART , etc..) there's also a thing called working scholars where you literally work in the campus for a certain amount of time in exchange for free tuition or less but you still have to maintain good grades. Here in the Philippines when you said that you are a student of UP (no matter what branch but mostly Diliman and Manila) or graduated from UP, you are considered to be very smart. College tuition fees here in the PH might be too expensive for us (La Salle and UST there’s also San Beda and Far Eastern University) but for the foreigners it’s actually pretty affordable, that’s why there are lots of international students here.
University of San Agustin (Iloilo City, Western Visayas) formerly Colegio de San Agustin de Iloilo was established in 1904 by Augustinian spanish catholic priests. In 1953 it became the first university in western visayas region and the first and only augustinian university in asia-pacific region. Proud Agustinian!

Ateneo de manila is one of the university that Jose Rizal studied from....Jose rizal is one of the national hero of the philippines...im super greatful about your content and i hope that you enjoy more facts about the culture of the phi.🤗💓
I have studied in St. Louis University, a non profit organization founded by Belgian Priests. Since it is a non profit institution the tuition fee is very economical. PROUD TO BE A LOUISIAN.
Ateneo is in Quezon City, not Baguio (the narration was correct but the label in the video was wrong) For filipinos, university education is expensive, especially in private universities. However, for foreigners, it's considered very cheap. The reason a lot of foreigners decide to study in the Philippines is because it's so much cheaper compared to other countries (especially if they want to study English).
Fun Fact!!! UP has already produced 7 Philippine presidents, 13 chief justices, 36 national scientists, 40 national artists, and a number of alumni of various professions in and out of the country.
Our National Hero, Jose Rizal, both attended Ateneo de Manila and University of Santo Tomas. Nowadays, tuition fees ranges from US$ 2,000 to as high US$ 25,000.
I agree, Philippines has a perfect weather, there is a city life and province life, beaches everywhere too. Plenty of places to wind down when your stressed out from school.
and It has everything that a student needs. The technology; good variety of food, even international food; Teachings are up to international standard. Only downside I see the slow internet. Nowadays you need a fast internet to be keep up with everything.
Thank you for reacting to some of the best universities here in the Philippines! I always love watching your videos even those from your Happiness Crossing channel. ❤ We, Filipinos, pride ourselves for being educated as it is ingrained in our culture that a good education is the best thing to have in order to fight poverty and oppression. Our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, has taught us that in order for us not be be fooled nor taken advantaged of by others, especially colonizers in the old days, we have to be aware and knowledgeable. P.S. Proud alumna from UP here. 😊
My Alma mater UST!!! 💗💗 I miss my school I've only been back twice since I graduated last 2013. I never had time after, I wish I could be back and visit soon. It is really an old university the 400 years celebration (2011) is so amazing I am glad I was there when it happened. Also it is very expensive my parents really worked hard to pay my tuition fees. Glad you guys are learning more about the Philippines. 😁
For the past century, the University of the Philippines has always been the #1 university in the Philippines and one of the best in Asia. Every year, more than 100,000 applicants all over the country take the very tough UP College Admission Tests but only 10% are accepted to become scholars where they enjoy FREE tuition and miscellaneous fees. The UP Diliman campus in Quezon City where I came from, sits on 500 hectares while UP Los Baños has 13,500 hectares. It was established in 1908 and NOT in 1949.

I would say that you really can afford to study at the universities mentioned. Philippines is actually the country where you can find the cheapest school but the learning is truly high quality and standard. 😍 - From University of Makati
I think the price is relative depending on foreign monetary exchange. Most foreign students in the Philippines are studying here because they find it cheap but has high quality. However for Filipinos, these private schools are very very expensive.
Well my brother and sister in law and several uncles of mine graduated in medical school of UST. I had a grandmother and grandfather who taught in UST and was part of the board of directors. My sister in laws family from grandfather to grand kids studied in UST. Now my dad and my moms brothers are all graduate of Dela salle university. All my family went there from elementary and high school and college except me. My son is a sophomore there now. One of my uncle is a professor also in lasalle. My family is a die hard lasallista. My sister studied and graduated physical therapy in university of the Philippines and that is where I took my masters degree in nursing too. ❤️😘✌️🇺🇸
Just so you know, UST is top 1 in Bar exam, medicine licensure, CPA, nursing, architecture and medical technology last 2019. The most difficult exams owned by UST. What an accomplishment.
I remember one of the reasons why UST lasted that long is because even wars were ongoing, the school didn't close down. They also relocated from Intramuros to España Blvd.

Twenty five percent of the total student population of all Lasallian schools in the Philippines are provided with a 100% academic scholarship. Lasallian schools offer free high school and college continuing academic scholarships for working students and retirees aged 19 to 60 over years of age. Vocational courses are also provided for free every year.
People from other countries tend and spent time to study here in the Philippines because it is cheaper in terms of financial aspect yet philippines is providing quality of education and can hone your skills and personality even more.

it is socialized...depends on the income of your parents.

Thank you for react all of university in the Philippines
Ateneo is in Quezon City, not Baguio (the narration was correct but the label in the video was wrong)
For filipinos, university education is expensive, especially in private universities. However, for foreigners, it's considered very cheap. The reason a lot of foreigners decide to study in the Philippines is because it's so much cheaper compared to other countries (especially if they want to study English).
I have never been to any of these universities but that's ok. I love you both. Looking forward to your next reaction video. 🌞
I was in Dumaguete before the lockdown, night life is good.
We, Filipinos, pride ourselves for being educated as it is ingrained in our culture that a good education is the best thing to have in order to fight poverty and oppression. Our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, has taught us that in order for us not be be fooled nor taken advantaged of by others, especially colonizers in the old days, we have to be aware and knowledgeable.
P.S. Proud alumna from UP here. 😊
Proud Carolinian here. I am an alumna of University of San Carlos. Took up AB Linguistics and Literature

Ateneo de Manila University will always be my dream school even tho im like graduating college na hahaha :(((
#OBF 💙💙💙🦅
I think the price is relative depending on foreign monetary exchange. Most foreign students in the Philippines are studying here because they find it cheap but has high quality. However for Filipinos, these private schools are very very expensive.
Yes the University of Santo Tomas is the Oldest Existing University in the Whole Asia.
Watching from Detroit, Michigan USA.
Just so you know, UST is top 1 in Bar exam, medicine licensure, CPA, nursing, architecture and medical technology last 2019. The most difficult exams owned by UST. What an accomplishment.
Wow ! This is so much interesting 😍
Thank you ! So much for this video idols 🥰😘
I remember one of the reasons why UST lasted that long is because even wars were ongoing, the school didn't close down. They also relocated from Intramuros to España Blvd.
