Just got back into the game after being gone for 6 years. I spent a good 2 hours trying to remember what everything in my inventory even was, along with trying to remember the game in general. Looking forward to trying out this community farm.
There are keys (i.e. Chak Acid, Exalted Keys, Pact Crowbars, Traders Keys,...) that are required to open certain objects on certain maps. It never fails, that just as I am about to open some secret treasure and receive the once-in-a-lifetime drop I am out of the particular key I need. I have considered working on a fun routine that a player could do over several hours in one day or split into numerous smaller periods spread throughout a week of gameplay to ensure that there is always an ample supply of each particular type of key. I like the idea of either making farming fun or playing in a more efficient manner, whichever way you prefer to look at it. Thanks Teapot, I enjoy your videos. Especially the pvp play-by-play and Tea Time.
It has to be said that even if you're not on a super-efficient train, there are easy things you can do to improve your income and make gold farming less of a snooze-fest. For me, the biggest one is if you're waiting for an event, don't just stand on the commander tag that is sitting doing nothing. Go out and kill nearby mobs or look for gathering nodes. Often they will drop a valuable material or two and they are always contributing to your spirit shards, a thing too many people are still sleeping on.
do you do any crafting? over time you should be able to recognize commonly used materials. Crafting for gold requires more hoops to jump through but selling off a bit of raw materials is how many players earn gold

I have commented on a couple of your other video's that you speak to fast and I can't understand, or get lost only after a few minutes. I have been gone from the game for the past 5 or six years. My teenage children have done a little bit on my account on and off just to make sure it isn't deleted somehow. Now I'm back, and I have tons of time on my hands. I want to learn what is in my inventory, and know if Legendary Weapsons actually work, i.e. sword etc... Aprreciate your channel and hope your future video's I can understand. Yes! Well, I honestly have 4 accounts (2 are mine and the other 2 from friends) so I farm login reward and sell the materials and mystic coins usually over time since I don't need a lot of gold for specific stuff excepting bank tabs or inventory shared slots. I play mainly PvE and sometimes PvP for fun without thinkin on gold farming or it becomes boring and like you said a part time job, I only played 3 days the Mad King Labyrinth this month and then went to do other stuff so I enjoy the game a lot. What I remember doing at some point was trading with the mystic forge using spiritual shards and other items, the profit was decent at that time but then it dropped and I stopped doing it, took me like 1 hour a weekend but was worth a lot of gold and I have materials to spend like mad.
oh so that was the thing that I tried, but thanks to my awfull loading times I missed a lot of it, because they were done before I loaded maybe with the docs I can catch most of it now! :)
This is awesome! It's exactly how I've been trying to approach to game, but have been doing so inefficiently. I am disappointed to see that the NA train starts at 11pm EDT. I'll try to catch it on Saturdays.
i love open world content but a lot of the time, i don't find groups who do the meta. i'd like to participate, tho i often have no idea what to do. but if everybody can join the discord, i'd like to join every now and then cause i like this content and if it grants gold, even better :D
What ... Probably my mind is playing tricks at this hour, I seem to see a secret message between the initials in the event list: TEA-CD-TOO-DAD ... I always said that in the Crystal Desert not only coffee was passed to the skritt... Anyway, I love this route!
Once I signed up to GW2 efficiency, it changed everything. Doing anything nets you gold, the issue is that it's all going to your materials bank and you never see it as liquid gold. You could easily build up a few hundred gold a week by selling everything.. and that's ultra low effort if you don't want to craft
Ok, i don't mean to be mean, but how the hell am I supposed to use this? I mean, outside of joining this guild, this is just a bunch of numbers in a spreadsheet, the waypoints are just jibberish, I don't know where any of these events are, or what a meta train even is! I just want to know how to make some gold but every guide is like four times more confusing than when I started.
These types of guides are really aimed at players with more like 200+ hours in the game already. It's completely brutal to try to get into any MMO, especially one that is over 10 years old. Tbh for new players I think Caffienated Dad is a better channel as far as actually learning a lot of the basics. This channel and others like Larinity and Vallun are really better for more intermediate experienced players. A lot of GW2 is just learning as you and find new things. The phrase that "it's more about the journey than the destination" rings true more for Guild Wars than for any other game I've played.
It would be really good to know if there is a time frame where that would work in NA as 6pm central european time is 10am westcoast NA which makes it impossible for anyone working.

Would be great for version 5.0 if you had some kind of alternate event or thing to do if for some reason the main event you pick can't run. Say if TT doesn't have enough, go do these 3 activities in that time until the train resumes so there's no downtime. Obviously picking the best gph without repeating things to substitute.
The way it works out is that TT is always at the end because yeah it's a tricky one to run all the time! We hope to make stuff like that regular though because it's a fun encounter. However our commanders know what to do if an event is going to be hard to pull off with a smaller group! Just doing some simple stuff like bounties, or just a core meta event can be a good replacement to fill some time easily!
idk whats the fun difference was ... I mean sure no downtime is nice , but keep in mind . You may burnout faster from the game , because im doing this train for quite a while by now and its not fun more burnout ,if you just focus in getting into the maps etc to get the MAX loot tbh . You probably could have said something in 30 seconds like :"play with you guild together via voicechat." because that what i saw so far xD

Teapot's train doesn't repeat a single event and you are constantly moving around the world killing different bosses instead of staying on one map farming the same meta over and over. The gold/hour isn't anything that special compared to other meta-trains but this one is simply not as boring as most meta-trains.
I played the game for like 8 years before I made my first legendary. I'd always assumed that legendaries were for rich people and people with too much time on their hands, and not casuals like me. Completely wrong. Nothing helped me understand the game's economy better than crafting a legendary--that is, participating in the game's economy.

New player here who just finished up drizzlewood. This train nets you 75g a day? Is that in materials? I'm trying to save to buy my first ascended set and then work towards making something like twilight.
The point isn't for maximum gph the point is for a balance of efficiency and engagement. If all I cared about was gold per hour I'd just work overtime and buy gems, that would be more rewarding (and more fun tbh lol) than melting my brain repeating the same farm over and over.
@@MightyTeapot Fair point, yeah I didnt think about it this way because high gp/h farming for me is swapping between 5-6 overall most profitable ones to stay fresh and also I dont grind for 1000s of gold too (usually I set up a goal like 250g for copper-fed kit) so I see why it is a problem for you and a lot of other people who do grind gold in thousands, also yeah sorry dumb comment
The only things you would need for ls4 parts of the Train are the way points and for example on Drakkar the masteries to open the final chests. But if you don't have these just yet, you can always join the train at the next event.
We did a lot of messing around with the train - theory crafting the perfect route! There are a few 'left over' markers that we were playing with to move a few things around. I should probably clean it up a bit

you'd just have to tweak it to the core stuff and find useful things to slot in during the downtime. Also about timing of when you play and how long you play. Like for core game you'll probably have to add more silverwastes or jps since your mainly gonna be in just wb until you get the expansions. And depending on the wb train your in some will do the event driven bosses, like the fields of ruins ogre foulbear chain.
I only have a few hours a day to play, on a good day I can make about 40-50g just playing PvE open world end game content, not really trying. Running every event I can find in LFG and not farming. Join Zerg squads, don't be afraid, meet people, see the world! Exotics and above before you salvage, check on the TP for the price, you may come out above. "/wiki et" is your friend

If you don't have these quite yet you can always catch the next event on the train. Most of the commanders put their route in the squad message so you know where they are going next and I know the NA guy doesn't kick people if they are just waiting on the next event.
If you play at least 4 hours a day... You have a part-time job, with no income at all. So... Find a full time job and spend 1 hour of your earnings on gold. Best and most efficient.
TLDR: if u like doing the train great. Otherwise 20g/h is laughable, go do fractals or swipe your card. And pls dont talk about stupid lottery tickets, fuck that. The majority of players will never drop anything.
20G/Hr is pretty damn nice for a newer/entry level player and the other great part about this setup is that it also tries to show players an introduction to mechanics like squad composition, boon uptimes, break bars and coordinated group play with some of the harder bosses! That's the big goal here, get players some CASH and help them learn the game mechanics!

i agree with most of what you said , but triple trouble you need ot be there quite a lot in advance , the random maps never kills them...
It's exactly at the end of the train, and you can stall the pre event to get in more players it's pretty consistent if you are well organised!

You don't need to do this all the time. When you get bored do something else like WvW for a few days and come back to it when you feel ready.

I have been averaging 18-20 gph on the Prime reset version. And 16-18 gph on the late night version. As mentioned the variety is what makes it fun!

Drizzlewood is 25-30g/h depending on your efficiency and unlocked map bonuses
It has a good amount of liquid but most of it is in materials and currencies yeah.

@Lorenzo Palummieri Tell me how im going to do fractals with 1 week of gameplay or 2 ? at least this train get me gold to start and have fun exploring the areas /bosses...20g/h laughable? come on man not everyone has 5y and 10k hours in their gametime...
And no RNG drops is not waste of time , is not new in genre or will go away , every game has this element, the excitement of getting one is what makes a lot ppl even play some games...
The majority of players will never drop anything because they don't try and say that they drop nothing anyways.
