For those who have forsaken churchianity, dependence on the Spirit is vital for nurturing organic relationships. The Spirit guides us to genuine connections rooted in love and truth, but this process often requires patience. Like Joseph in Egypt, you may find yourself alone for a long time, trusting God through isolation. Such seasons refine faith, teaching us to rely on Christ as our closest companion. In time, the Spirit draws like-minded believers together, forging relationships that reflect the unity and love of the true Body of Christ, free from artificial structures or hierarchies.
Great word… “churchianity…” church is not equal to truly following Jesus as a lifetime lifestyle. So many of us have “walked away” from the building and the system, in order to remove the stumbling stone to following “the Way.” Great pondering thought, churchianity vs Christianity.
My husband and I left (actually, it was the hand of God removing us) the building called "a church" several years ago. It was more like being excommunicated after we dared to challenge the pastor's theology. We wandered out in the desert, the 2 of us, looking for a place to call "our church." We finally resorted to having church at home, just the 2 of us. Then, in January this year, God took back the precious gift He had given me 35 years earlier. It's been a rough ride going solo, but I know my God and His ways (like Moses). Lisa is correct when she answered the "What now?" question .... "be still." I've done a lot of being still since January but when I try to attend a church service as in the past, I come home spiritually empty, having wasted a lot of God's time which could have been spent in my books studying, as I do every day, often for about 2 hours. So, here I sit and wait (alone, as I have no one, not even family), trying to redeem the time, remembering that Abraham waited 25 years for his promise. And ask, "What now, Lord?"
Wow. I fell like I needed to sit on this for a minute. We are praying with you. Thank you for sharing. I am so sorry for your loss. Thats a lot to deal with and to do alone is very challenging and lonely. I have no words that can ease your situation but believe and trust Jesus can. Praying.
@churchdropout ❤ Thank you. It is well, I am not alone; I am where God wants me to be. It is because I discovered brother Tom Wadsworth a few months ago that I now listen to your podcast. Thank you for having him on. I listened to all of his 7 teaching videos rejoicing all the while that there was someone putting into words what had transpired in my life, spiritually, the last 5-6 years. Great insight. Part of the issue is that most people are consumers and they are addicted to the gathering because you can consume. Songs are tailored for maximum consumption, services are designed around the people as the slogan goes “building with you in mind.” When you have been trained to believe that successful discipleship is to go to church when the doors are open, give what you are told to give, and serve where you are told to serve, it is extremely difficult to extract from that system. It’s nice to see people finally dialoguing about this. Blessings!!

First, I want to say I’m grateful that I stumbled on this channel. I’m a new subscriber that appreciates your approach to examining getting back to what is the true Ekklesia. This topic is timely for me. As I’ve been putting the institution in its proper place in my life, I’ve concluded the gathering place in itself, although flawed, isn’t an excuse to leave unless abusive/heretical. However, it’s an opportunity to shine light in darkness that’s not always because of evil but due to blindness. We are lights. We are in a unique position to help people see things differently as much of the system’s foundation is so religious and traditional that it keeps people bound. Good topic.

9:25 I think the established churches actually make it really hard to be Christian. What I've been doing is just going to a Sunday School class of people my age (seniors) where they get to know you. They have a prayer list. I'm not joining that church, and if I want to, I can watch the live sermons at home on my computer.
A friend of mine sent me this video, who coincidentally, I haven’t seen at church on Sunday in about a month. We do street ministry together every other Saturday as well as regular church services. To me, this topic of the state of western church borderlines a divisive conversation. Know that I’m not making accusations, for how would I know the conversations that God is having with you? But I believe that we need to pray for unity in his body. Mathew 6:33 says to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. That’s our day to day, along with coming together. Because I do believe that we are still to gather together, in person, for corporate praise. Psalms 22:3 God inhabits the praises of Israel; Psalms 22:22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the congregation I will praise thee. Even in Acts 1, the first “church meeting” there were 120 present according to Acts 1:15. And the outpouring of the Holy Spirit drew even more. I know many who feel disconnected from the church will be able to relate to your channel and you may help lead them into more intimate ways of fellowship. I know that Jesus calls for us to be one. “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.” John 17:20-23 NKJV 28:07
There are no words to explain the deep wounds you're left with when you're abused by so called spiritual leaders. I'm not talking about, they insulted you and hurt your feelings. I'm talking about criminal acts, abuses of all kinds, slander, libel, paying people to track and stalk you, to hurt you and the like. After you go away bleeding, you see that they still carry on in their error with no consequences. And you realize... I may just have this pain until the age where Jesus reigns. I may have to carry these wounds tthe rest of my life. The trust is demolished - but Jesus is standing at the other end with His pierced hands outstretched saying: "I know." "I've been through the worst and most destestable things." "I have you my child." And that's our our only saving grace. I loved Jesus then and I love Him more today. But I see no road back into any of these institutions.
Our bishop in Hawaii had a guy come in and would lay hands on people for healing but our bishop said, some don’t want to be healed because it would take away their disability, lol 😂 sad but true
…(10:08…(John 5:1-15)…I would appreciate your general presentations more if they’d include an open Bible and actually reading from it. What you two have to say is too important to leave room for misrepresentation or misunderstanding. In any event, thank you for sharing this with us.
Hi Allen & Lesa, I’ve been involved in the local church all my life. I’ve been out of church since COVID but not deconstructing from Christ or Christianity. Our church has grown from 1,800 when we arrived in 1998, to a small town equivalent size which requires organization and management. I feel so disconnected from our pastor who wouldn’t recognize me as a member. It feels hollow. How can a pastor lead a congregation he doesn’t know?
I’m not saying this to be mean but in today’s culture speaking of mega churches specifically leaders are public speakers speaking about the the Bible. Not saying anything about their character just critiquing the practice . Pastoring means something very specific in the New Testament in my opinion. I think we just need to call it what it is.
I agree wholeheartedly. I miss having a pastor. Our church wasn’t a mega church when we arrived. Megachurches aren’t healthy in my mind. Walking together with Christ is about being in relationships. Now that some of the tone of the church is changing doctrinally, I have questions. From the outside, it seems more important to draw crowds with big names and sweeping rhetoric than to know their own people. It’s lonely.
This is the Lord moving on his REMNANT BRIDE before he return, I have been on this journey for awhile now noing my brothers & sisters across the 🌍 is feeling the same thing::::::/:/::
Greetings in GRACE (Fam)😊, Church Dropout DOES NOT mean one has fallen away from the FAITH IN/OF the Holy, Living Lord Messiah Yeshua/Jesus Christ! NOR does it mean or insinuate that we forsake ourselves of fellowshipping with other born-again believing brethren in the faith. Sometimes, a person has to come from amongst the RELIGIOSITY, the churchish DENOMINATIONS (SCHISMS), and TRADITIONS of man. Stepping/running away can cause you to get on the NARROW path and gain a RENEWED MIND in Lord Jesus! And was it not the Lord Messiah Yeshua/Jesus Christ HIMSELF WHO said, "COME TO ME ALL who labor and are heavy laden and I WILL GIVE REST"... NOT the apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor/teacher; bishop (elder/overseer), deacon, nor anyone else! What about the INDWELLING of the Holy Spirit/the Spirit OF Truth in the born-again believing/abiding ones (brothers and sisters)? Does the Holy Spirit only suppose to "move/work" inside a designated church denomination building/structure where MOST OFTEN the FULL Gospel of the Christ IS NOT even preached (or HIS HOLY NAME even mentioned amongst all the pomp and circumstance), the Holy Scriptures📖 ARE NOT taught IN CONTEXT, church order and church discipline (according to the Scriptures) IS NOT practiced and REAL LOVE IS LACKING❓️What NOW❓️First, take a deep breath😀! Then, we KEEP living IN THE CHRIST and CONTINUE to follow after HIM! What did HE say to do, how to act/behavior? And HE left us with another Helper (the Holy Spirit)! Some of these videos by the brethren really do get you "stirred up" in the precious, holy things of Abba Most High Holy Living True ELOHIM! It is about HIS WILL! BLESSINGS❤️🙏🏼🕊😇 #Iamnotarobot
I disagree that fellowship and discipleship in church is easy. That hasn’t been my expirence. And feel like some people leave the church because they lack that connection or they feel like an outsider.
Really? Using a figure of speech. Relax. Only meant when we read the NT we can come away thinking we are all meant to be like the apostles since their lives are the primary focus. Sheesh.
@churchdropout I think you're being a little to sensitive. I did agree with what you said afterwards, that most Christians were ordinary people. Please do not fall into the trap of many prideful church leaders today who think they are God's anointed and they cannot be called into question. A statement was directed towards the Bible and yes I called it into question. Envy not the oppressor and choose none of his ways.
@@go_away_now A few things. You are projecting a lot of things on me from one comment. For the record, I am far from being above rebuke or correction. Second, I was responding to your comment that lacked any context that you just provided right now. lol. Truthfully, you didn’t call anything into question you posted a vague question with a time stamp. Take a look at what you posted.
@@churchdropout I disagreed with the comment because scripture was not given to us with the intent to deceive us. I am of the opinion that, that should not even be joked about. But I did say, I agreed with what you said after that statement. And no, I can't assume anything about you because I don't know you at all. But sarcasm was very evident in your reply. I said "please do not fall into the trap ... " as a precautionary statement. I was questioning that one statement. Is that clear ?
You are speaking too broadly. There are thousands of churches in the US and many are autonomous. Be specific. Are you talking about a particular denomination or church culture? Are you talking about churches in a particular city? Do you have a problem with their doctrine or theology? I really don't know what your problem is. That's particularly the case considering that adults are not forced to go to church. Just don't go if it doesn't suit you. 🤷
I have no idea what y'all are talking about. Its not making any sense. You're trying to built a 'community' right now. You're trying to build a institutional church right now. Before you know it, if you have any success you gonna have systems. You gonna start making money.

Yes...we have lost identity in a form and format
Absolutely. 💯
And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.”
John 17:20-23 NKJV 28:07
So sorry for your pain and having to carry the wounds. We bare burdens with you in prayer and some of us in practice. Jesus is with you. Praying 🙏.
Our bishop in Hawaii had a guy come in and would lay hands on people for healing but our bishop said, some don’t want to be healed because it would take away their disability, lol 😂 sad but true
@@josephbachota , 😆what? Smh!
@@josephbachota yeah that’s crazy. lol. A little different than what I meant. 😂

I know. Giving you a hard time,
…(10:08…(John 5:1-15)…I would appreciate your general presentations more if they’d include an open Bible and actually reading from it. What you two have to say is too important to leave room for misrepresentation or misunderstanding. In any event, thank you for sharing this with us.
Hi Allen & Lesa,
I’ve been involved in the local church all my life.
I'd correctly change the title to CEO. But that's a bit too much truth...

This is the Lord moving on his REMNANT BRIDE before he return, I have been on this journey for awhile now noing my brothers & sisters across the 🌍 is feeling the same thing::::::/:/::
Greetings in GRACE (Fam)😊,
Church Dropout DOES NOT mean one has fallen away from the FAITH IN/OF the Holy, Living Lord Messiah Yeshua/Jesus Christ!
BLESSINGS❤️🙏🏼🕊😇

I disagree that fellowship and discipleship in church is easy. That hasn’t been my expirence. And feel like some people leave the church because they lack that connection or they feel like an outsider.
16:50 the new testament tricks us ?
No it is not. But I concede. Blessings to you.

I’m not sure you are making sense right now. You are judging motives.
