Went through darkness for a long time and was described as rushing towards death. In the anbu for ten years before finally getting out when guy kept advocating for him to the hokage because he saw how the darkness was affecting him. Even out of the anbu he was still cold and kept turning down his genin teams until team 7 where he saw some hope in them being a good team and not end up like his old team under minato. But we all saw how that ended with sasuke leaving. Dying to pain and being revived. With Obito returning. Etc. poor guys been through hell and back. But he never went evil.
Kakashi was the best sensei for them. Even though the legendary sanin stole his students lol sometimes the right thing for a teacher to do is guide them to the right place to study. Of course Sasuke was unexpected but the other two got trained in the right place (sort of like graduate studies) by a teacher with the right skill. Kakashi did everything possible to keep them together and that's the reason the love between these 3 are legendary and no one wants to give up on the other. Every time they begin to question themselves they look back to the time with Team 7, all three where wayy too powerful and had way too much history and trauma in their childhood so it must have been really hard for Kakashi especially coz he's had it rough as well and he personally knows their loved ones (Minato was his sensei and Itachi was his junior in anbu) but despite all that he did a wonderful job keeping them together but as Madara said fate and centuries of the same cursed fate happening made all that happen to his precious students
Kakashi taught them one lesson above all else: teamwork. Even though they ended up breaking up and going their separate ways, that lesson was what ultimately brought them back together and allowed them to save the world.
Saw some manga panels and clips that are seen and not seen in the show or manga, but I think Kakashi what he did best and taught what makes a better shinobi overall despite he could've helped them and enhance other skills like seduction, traps and more, he did try/give his best in giving he's student what they need but he taught them what was important
Also even after being taught by the literal most powerful ninjas the leaf village has to offer (1 of which is now a rogue ninja, at the time), Naruto and Sakura still went back to Kakashi for guidance. Speaking volumes about how great of a teacher he is. Naruto, likely the greatest ninja of all time, went back to Kakashi repeatedly. The rasenshuriken wouldn't exist without Kakashi. At least not at the pace in which it did.
I didn’t even know this was a thing they showed in the show . The ending made my tear up when he said , “Obito, do you see?” 😢 then they all pushed him to go . 😢❤
Let me remind you by all the time of them being together Kakashi not even once mentioned about Minato to Naruto. Maybe in the late shippuden, but don't remember.

Lord third ordered all his ninja not to talk about the fourth Hokage. It was all part of the 9 tails night when Obito decided to try and have revenge on the village that he was told left him for dead. Although we know it was Madara that twisted that. Also his wife at the time of the pregnancy was the leaf's jinjuriki host. So unfortunately the baby and who the parents are had to be kept secret. ( a lot of good that did when obito arrived with the 9 tails in tow...)

Ngl I put up with all the filler but the only few fillers I skipped were the good ones like the mechanized naruto and most of all the anbu arc which I foolishly skipped :/. Ofc I watched the crystal user and the kid who got part of the nine tails etc
