The first and most important concept is that a helmet should be as snug as a person can wear without getting a headache or real discomfort. Next is that a persons head shape might make it necessary to go up or down a size from what the head measurement and size chart say for any given helmet, in order to get a proper fit. Helmets DO break-in and they will loosen up slightly. Helmets are NOT supposed to fit like a comfy pair of shoes. ALWAYS fasten the strap. It is a necessary component for a helmet to work properly.
