Ugh finally a video showing what it looks like when a helmet is too big or too small. Every other video had been generic to the measuring and the shape but doesn’t touch on how to know if it’s fitting how it should or it’s too big/small. Thanks guys!
sometimes all u need to do is replace the cheek pads with a smaller or bigger size. helmet shells are shared with sizes that change based on the thickness of the pads inside.
I am new to riding so I went to a motorcycle store and a lady came to help me. I told her I was brand new to riding but I had been on their website looking at the styles of helmet/jacket/gloves that I liked. She was pleased that I had brought some ideas with me. She measured my head and brought multiple helmets out for me to try on. I must have tried 6 or 7 in total and settled on a HJC helmet that fit the best. I can't recommend going into a store and trying stuff on enough over buying a helmet or jacket blind online.
I made this mistake. Altho i measured my head and everything else ticks the boxes. My helmet is very snug kinda tight if anything and my ears hurt. I think its too early as i may need to wear it in
@@erayseyma Put it on and wear it for a half an hour or longer if you can. If you develop any hot spots or sore spots then it may just be a bad fit for you. It may also "break in" a little bit but not by much. The main thing is not to worry too much about it.
@@Mr.M1STER lol literally on my head right now as i type 😂 its seems ok tbh. No hotspots just with balaclava when i was out today i felt my ears felt hot/uncomfortable. But i feel its gonna be ok. I very much appreciate your reply by the way thank you for reaching out honestly. My over thinking has mellowed 😁😁😁👍
ope, i got a helmet thinking it was right cause i could feel it all around my head but i can fir my whole hand up in the lining unfortunately and it does move if i shake my head but it always kind of went back to the same spot, i might need to get a smaller one then
I have a big head and when I got my first helmet I told the lady “give me the biggest helmet you have for my big head.” She gave me a 3XL but I fee like it’s still to small! My cheeks feel a little bit squished and I can’t really breathe when I have it on. But the chin strap is in the right spot and I can’t imagine how big my head must be to have to have a 4XL! Do I just have the wrong one for my head shape?
If you're not absolutely sure if the helmet is of proper fit while trying on a few at a "NO HELP/KNOWLEDGE" big ticket store, do yourself a huge favor... Go to a motorcycle shop and ask them to find that perfect - and yes, I mean perfect in every sense of the word because your head requires a perfect fit! Remember; fit over cosmetics! Fit is crucial whereas beauty of the helmets color is irrelevant!
