Exmoor at its very best. What diverse countryside to walk through. Absolutely wonderful. A superb film, three crossings of an ice cold stream just for the viewers benefit and a cream tea. Thanks so much for taking me along, I really enjoyed myself

Thanks for a fab video, loved hearing the cuckoo, babbling brooks and singing gate. The views were expansive and the flowers so bright. Your commentary is music to my ears, so lyrical.

Love your videos, Abbie, your enthusiasm is infectious. I love Exmoor, I've been visiting for over fifty years and I never tire of it. When oak apples start out their life, when they're less than 1 cm across, they really do look like miniature red and green apples. As a kid, I always wanted to pick them, but they shrivel up really fast. Watch out for those green dashed 'rights of way' - I got lost a lot in the Lakes trying to follow them, they're rarely there on the ground. :-)

A few years ago I enjoyed a fantastic day on the scrambly ridge of Liathach in the north west highlands of Scotland. A few weeks previous the Scottish news was full of massive and seemingly devastating fires on the Torridonian hillsides. Having enjoyed a wonderful, if hard scramble up high, I came down through the blackened results of those fires. And yet it was by no means depressing. All about me was the bright and fresh greenery of regeneration. That green against the pitch black of the scorched earth was mesmerising, testimony to nature’s healing power. Your video brought those pictures back to me. Cheers Abbie.

No please not. With TV follows so many constraints and rules for every type of political correctness. The beauty of this channel is Abbie’s freedom to do everything the way she likes it, artistic freedom in every respect. That would be diminish dramatically with mainstream TV. Besides you can view this channel on your TV too 😀

19:35. Worth remembering that the O.S. don't update all details like edges of forests, and other "minor" changes on their maps. Unlike buildings, which usually appear within12/ 24 months of completion. So the location of the path in relation to the edge of the wood, may be utilising a survey carried out in the 1970's. Or late 1940's. Or between the wars, or even earlier!

I have a lot of runs like that on Dartmoor. I get back and think "i should probably make that private on ViewRanger just incase someone else tries to follow it" . Case in point last weekend when i battled up Manga hill alone in my shorts wondering if i might disappear into a waist-high, grass covered bog never to be seen again. All part of the adventure. :-)
So glad to have just found your channel as i'm starting to venture to Exmoor now as well.

Hey Abbie, thanks for sharing another great walk. You sacrificed the body on that creek crossing, filming yourself and then going back for the camera. I’ve had to remove shoes, socks and trousers on an occasion or two. As a snake nut I’d have gently caught the adder and examined him before releasing him. Cheers again from Arkansas. Hey, if I get to the UK in a year or two you think I could book a walk?

Hi Abbie! Lovely video one again! Ive been looking into the path that was non existent at 11 minutes on the video, comparing OS Maps with Satellite Images on Google Maps (I sometimes do this as the Green Path on OS 25K Scale indicates a Public Right of Way not necessarily an actual path on the ground). From what the satellite images show there is no path in that direction over Clanna Combe although a possible faint path just to the south of it heading for the ancient stones.

Please tell us some background on the land. Does anyone own it or is it all free land for anyone to pitch a tent on? Is it National Trust or Park owned by the government? Explain it to us Americans where we can't find a single square foot that we don't have to pay for entry for just to be left alone and find some quiet. 14:00 An aeolian harp, brilliant.
