@@AbandonedMiniatures I will make sure to credit you for the technique! We should do a Wall-Off sometime... see who can make the most abandoned looking wall😄
Oh that would be fun! When I first went looking on TH-cam for inspiration, your abandoned coffee shop project was one of the first videos I found. That and your old plaster ceilings, they were both amazing.
Fantastic, very atmospheric. Reminds me of the abandoned 19th Century warehousing and cotton mills which have been left to decay! Looking forward to seeing your next one! :)
Great model and excellent video. I like your narration style and that you keep the music volume at a level that doesn't interfere your narration. It's a good idea adding links to tools and materials that you use. Keep up the good work!!
Those videos haven’t seemed to do as well, but I definitely want to do more how-to content in the future, especially if I start a patreon or something similar. If I make more to post here, is there anything specific you’d like to see?
Wunderbare Arbeit mach weiter so.👍
Man. This is absolutely incredible. Your skills are huge, and we really feel the passion behind the vidéos. As a passionate abandoned places guy, you made my day! Keep going! Wanna see more, like some famous movies or series scene!
Thanks! It’s just any brand of liquid latex rubber, I’m using one from hobby lobby called mold builder. It’s similar to something like Vallejo liquid mask for minis, but works great for larger pieces and terrain.
Enjoyed this build very much. Thank you for sharing your techniques and different products. I enjoy using the liquid mask technique as well, the latex dries so quickly and allows you to get a great weathered look without wasting any time. Keep up the great work.
It is one of my favorite techniques now! You’re right, it is so quick. I’ve tried other techniques that don’t look as good and take so much longer. Thanks for the support!
Great ! I particularly like the ruining painting with tour finger. Simple and great effect. Your work is a mix of simple and great things, you're good at ! Thank you for sharing
Loved the new space. What air brush system do you use? What is your final photography setup (not video). Since this piece looks larger than some of your other dioramas, did you do anything to adapt your photo setup?
My airbrush is the Iwata Revolution, it’s tip is not too fine so it’s easy to spray thicker paints to cover larger areas. And I have a basic AS-186 style compressor. As for photos, I don’t have a dedicated space so I set it up differently for every diorama. My next video will show a little more of what it looks like when I shoot them, but it’s been mostly cobbled together in my small apartment. I did just order a large background kit so moving forward I will have a nice black backdrop behind, whereas right now I’ve just used pieces of black foam board in the background. I am a filmmaker for my full time job so I have a lot of lights and things accessible, I may do a video in the future of how to do a simple and cheap setup for people to try for themselves.
Hello! This is fantastic thank you. I am very interested to learn more about the liquid latex/paint method for walls - do you have a tutorial just on that?
What a remarkable diorama. You are very talented. Not sure why I did it (could be because I'm retired and bored) but I recently make a diorama of a drug scene in a warehouse and attached it to the wall above my craft desk. Even bought an old street light and used it above the work table in the warehouse. You reminded me of that. Maybe I should make a video. Write back if you're interested. Anyone of course...
So atmospheric and brooding looking. Love it! I got some slide covers, I havent used them yet but I will tag you if I upload anything. Love the peeling paint too. I was going to ask about the cracking paint as I dont have an airbrush, do you think applying the paint to the wet modpodge with a sponge would work better than a brush?
Thanks! I'd love to see what you come up with. I usually use elmers glue for the cracking paint, and you can do it with a brush but it will tend to crack in the direction of the brush strokes. Haven't tried using a sponge or foam brush, but dabbing paint over it with one of those might work!
I look forward to seeing more of your dioramas. I would love to go urban exploring to take amazing pics of abandoned buildings, but there isn't much to see where I live.
Un pregunta, por favor.Que es el instrumento de metal con agujeros en los laterales que utilizas cuando haces la ventana? Muchas gracias muy bonito todo.Un saludo.
@@AbandonedMiniatures Cool, thanks. If you pick one specific scale you can (usually) purchase a ruler that does the conversion for you. It will make it easier to measure and maintain consistency. - Just a suggestion... In any case - fine work!
That might be helpful! I think often my issue is that I like to work with the larger 1:18 size but when I do larger areas I have to downsize some, or my piece would end up huge haha.
Yeah I really do like to focus on the places and their history. Unfortunately most graffiti in these places are not even creative and just ruin the place for me.
@@AbandonedMiniatures I have mixed feelings about graffiti: on the one hand I see it as ugly desecration; on the other hand art, with local and historical meaning. I get less upset with it on buildings, but on natural stuff like stones and trees? Grrrrrr.
Sometimes it can be visually interesting, but a lot of the places I’ve been have such interesting history that is important to remember, and when they get destroyed and graffitied (usually with very un-artistic designs), it starts to strip away that history until all that’s left is ruin.
@@AbandonedMiniatures yeah it depends on the place. Abandoned urban places look good with colorful graffiti but I can picture an old country home with tagging it wouldn’t be so great.
Mobile phone/cellphone protective screens make for great crushed windows.
Interesting, I haven't tried that yet!
Remarkable!! I could easily see you working on sets for stop-motion films like Nightmare Before Christmas. Such talent.
Your little abandoned spots always give me peace of mind, even while you're still crafting them. Awesome work, "simple" but so full of wonder.
I appreciate that! So glad you enjoy them 😃
I am going to have to try your liquid latex technique sometime. it always looks so amazing! Another fantastic build!👍

I love your idea of using slides for window panes! I love listening to your thoughts on making spaces like these too.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. These places have so many stories to tell, I will have to talk more about them in future videos!

Great. Your buildings look just as eerie as the real thing.

Whats the Name of the Metal bricks with the holes you use for fixing the Walls?

What do you use for the walls ? Is that wood, melamine, some sort of cardboard ?

Love your work just curious what material is used for the walls
Thanks! I use 1/4” mdf board most of the time.
What are the steps that u used to make the paint peel effect and what material did u use?
He used liquid latex and paint over that. You could use school (Elmer's) glue I think.
Que escala haces los dioramas?
Amazing work 👏
