It was really interesting to see you shrink your process down to a day in order to see where all your time goes in your longer builds. Custom pieces do take so much time but end up being worth it in the end when you are going for a certain idea. However, this was great to see that you can still get a story and a bit of mystery so quickly out of purchased items! What a great way to encourage someone new to just jump in and give that abandoned vibe a try!
I prefer to see you building everything from scratch. For me, this is a teaching channel and I want to learn all your techniques. At times, talking less, and showing more is better. Eather way, your work is amazing. You are an inspiration to all of us.
Wow, for some reason, the end shots really moved me on this one. I don't know, I felt sad. It was like you could sense the sadness of the house now that it had been abandoned. I noticed too, before you asked for comments on it, how much I enjoyed you talking as you worked, rather than a voice over. It felt more personal, like we were sitting in your studio watching you work, lol. I would love to see more videos done in this format. And this observation goes back to my original comment about the sadness, but I think your end shots really did look more realistic. I felt like I was actually there in that room. Great work, as always!
You're an artist. Fact. This looks astonishingly real. You do fantastic work, and making dolls' house furniture look full sized, is a real skill. It's like one of the many abandoned rooms that feature in H.P. Lovecraft stories. The rifled drawer on the floor is a nice touch. The only thing I, personally would have done, would have made a custom mirror, with a distorted, screaming face looking out of it. I know that's not what you were aiming for, but since I was a kid, I've found mirrors to be ever so slightly creepy. Watching old movies like 'Dead Of Night', or 'From Beyond The Grave' didn't help. Your room is brilliant. And not one in which to linger.
Dude first video of yours I’ve seen and it’s such a rad art form. There’s actually like an emotion that comes from seeing an abandoned room I reckon. You nail capturing that. So rad!
I really dig the new format. It's always cool to hear your thoughts about creating these masterpieces! One thing that broke the immersion a bit for me was the drawer on the floor. The lacquer on the top edge looked like it was Millimeters thick instead of a couple of tenth of millimeters. I never thought that subsurface scattering could break the immersion instead of help creating it. But this shouldn't be considered as a complaint of mine! I would never be able to create such an amazing diorama.
Wow, this was quite different, but gave just as much of an impact as your other pieces. I truly enjoyed this process as much as the others you have presented. I must add that I did enjoy your explaining while creating. Awesome.
I love how real they look. Well, I know that’s the point of these miniatures. But it just look so realistic like you are standing in that room filming. So so neat how something so small can look big.
I was going to say I love the explanation format of the video before you even asked. I come from mini painting. I find lots of diorama creators have very little to no voice over or explanation, so thank you. great video
Random tangent on fabric. I discovered that nylon material, like stockings (with the very thin/fine threads makes for pretty realistic miniature fabric). Don't recall if you've used it before, worth a shot if you havent.
You are really talented person, and you've got a taste. With ordinary dollhouse furniture you've created amazing and atmospheric scene just for one day, and it fits to your style perfectly! I love this roombox as much as your more complicated works, and I felt very calm when I was watching video because of your voice and music.
I can't believe you did this in such a short time! Really fantastic work..the end footage was incredible and highlighted just how much detail was in the room. Beautiful. Thank you for this video!
I enjoy this format, I believe your older format and this new format can be interchangeable in different videos depending on how you may feel and whether or not you want an easier done video or not depending on which format is harder.
Loved watching your video. Your room turned out awesome. I'm a miniature freak since I was a kid. You've inspired me to get my mini house out of the box and build it myself. I'll learn a thing or two...maybe...:) Hey from the Arizona 🏜 desert. Loved this.
The lighting seemed to work better. If I didn't see how the scene was made I would have said it was a real location. But if I think about it it is a real location, just on small scale. I like your new format. Thanks
I loved this, just helps to show you don't need expensive equipment to make miniatures. I use a lot of trash lol like bottle caps and that sort of thing to make what I need
Your videos are amazing. So are your sets. The intro shot with your hand in the "room" was a little shocking, because your hand shows the real scale. Remove hand... Perfect scale. Good reference -to-scale shot... Love seeing the cat "help" you, ....and at the best part.... the end... Your photography/video skills? Magic. I adore your videos, can't think of anything you could do to improve them! And.... This shows you don't need to hand make everything, your skills are good enough to make any props, hand or pre-made, look abandoned. Two thumbs up. :D
I think it was nice to see you a bit more! And this turned out really cool, I normaly hate thees cheap miniature furnitures, as I think they look really unreal, but you got them to look so real!
Always enjoy watching your videos. I'm sort of new to making videos. Right now I'm watching the styles of different TH-cam artists to get as many tips to use for my puppet music videos. Like how you combine the visual with the audio. Melds together well. Thanks always for sharing. In this era of war, hate, and greed it is so refreshing to watch your creations...
I very much enjoyed your abandoned room project, and look forward to watching and learning more from you. I was also immediately struck-during the parting shot of the room-with the remarkable realism that you created.
Really enjoying this new format. Its great to see that even us novice mini enthusiasts can make an abandoned room. Im trying a sort of abandoned kinda wrecked room in my current dollhouse myself soon so some of these hints were great!
At about 06:44 - it reminded me of Van Gogh's Bedroom in Arles. :) One day make! It turned out great. I like the addition of the mysterious key - and the mirror, which always lends a bit of magic to a room (mirror, portal, etc.) I like both formats. And the addition of the cat.
Howdy, this was so fun. Great to see purchased items transformed. I love what you do however you wish to do them. Long or short - love your processes. Thank you so much for sharing. Oh, that curtain shaping tool I must recreate - that was so cool. The finale, the perfect way the light shone thru; the shadows cast; swirls of dust brought - all brought this forgotten room to life for me. At times it made me feel nostalgia and other times an eerie feeling. How great ! lol
Love the new format and the shot was awesome! It looked like I went back to somewhere I lived for things I had forgotten and it was too late. Camera work is crazy how you feel like a story is developing. Thank you!
Exceptional work! Your opening shots are so jaw-dropping. Atmosphere through the roof - and sound is playing into that too. Well put-together, all around. And that tip around 1:20 about the paint strokes ruining scale is on the money! :D Tips like that can make all the difference in the world for someone else. Thank you for doing what you do.
Thank you. I like the new format. I’ve had these ideas I’ve dreamed of trying ever since I first saw the Laowa probe last year, But you are the only one I have seen that has demonstrated that what I have in mind is actually possible. Keep up the good work
I'm planning to do a half lived in/abandoned diorama soon and hope it comes out as good as yours. This proves you don't need the fancy tools to make something really impressive.
I love both kinds of videos--it's super interesting to see your processes for both a quick one-day build like this, and the more labor-intensive builds. It's really cool to see how you approach each project, since they both have unique challenges that are cool to watch.
Side note. Hobby lobby does try to screw the buyers. Lol. Seriously tho. Watch the prices. I spent around 400 there one day. The first object in front said 9.99$ The next one behind it priced at 10.99. Then 9.99. Then 11.99. I was like uhhhh. Why aren't they all the same price? The lady said they price items on consumer demand. I laughed and said that's not how this works and it wouldn't be priced in a way where the cheaper is placed at the front so you don't see the other prices. Mind you it's all the same product!!! Lol. Anyway just a heads up. By catching this. I saved 68$
I enjoy watching all of your videos, but this new format is AWESOME! Taking pieces from a craft store that people can purchase (if they want to), and being able to recreate the project or make something similar is a great idea! I like the camera angle of you talking/teaching, and sharing the step by step process of the build. I also noticed.... It seemed like you enjoyed the process of this build a little more as well. Less stress, and being able to create without having to worry about making every single item. You're truly talented, and I really enjoy watching what you create. Defiently continue making these kind of videos.
Loved the format and loved the end result! This would make a really fun challenge for a group - like you said, most projects take a long time to come together but something "quick and dirty" with such great results is refreshing for our creativity 😀
WOW! first time viewer. Love Miniatures and I love abandoned/haunted locations.....NEVER thought about combining the two. The end result is fantastic. So the end shots looking realistic, yes absolutely; I thought the dusty ambience through natural light coming through the windows which also looked like they were overlooking a backyard and of course all the smallest of details helped solidify it into being a 'real' looking abandoned location. So cool! Got yourself a new subscriber! It was too funny after watching the process with miniatures and the ENORMOUS CAT jumped up on the counter.
We love your work and have been following you for some time. This project shows that you have a true passion and skill that can create some wonderful scenes. We’re just now watching a show on abandoned places and caught a piece on an abandoned rail yard in Ethiopia. Creating a scene in an abandoned passenger rail car would be a great idea for a future project. Keep up the great work and we hope you take up this challenge. -John and Elizabeth
Man you do good stuff. It would be so cool to have the curtains move a little from a breeze. IDK how you could do that in scale though. Maybe even a string attached to the curtains that you could pull, off camera? Or super-thin fabric and canned air? Anyway, take care - Bill.
I love to see your view!!!! I don’t mind this format either. Voice overs and speaking throughout are just fine. I dont think it bothers anyone really. So very talented. I’m so ready to make some miniatures!! Now on the realistic shots at the end, was it the depth of field or the focal length maybe the speed. It seemed very realistic.
Great format, and project. The atmosphere in the room probably had some sort of smoke and that really helped. It occurs to me that if the light from the window could fall on the oval frame and bounce back off it might add just a little bit of extra drama. Especially if it was a domed mirror. Love the video and the project - can't wait to see more!
Brilliant. It looks really good. Such a good idea to show that you don’t need either expensive equipment or - more to the point- your amazing skills at creating miniatures to achieve great results. Wish we had hobby lobby here in the UK!
I'm guessing you'd be hampered by various material properties, but if you could produce those teeny brush strokes I imagine it would bring some amazing scale to a piece. Maybe a very fine, uneven raking blade that could carve tiny lines into a surface and be coated with very thin paint/lacquer? Like a scraper 2 or 3 mm wide with uneven teeth on the edge.
When the blade in a hand plane gets a little ragged (from, say, hitting knots in a piece of timber) you start to get tiny sweeping ridges. So you could just mildly abuse a very narrow chisel :)
It's always interesting watching someone think their way through a problem or decision in real time, which is something that I enjoyed a lot about this way of you doing your videos. Also, this is the most realistic looking final shot segment so far.
I’m so glad I found you via Ara @Bentley House Minis! I love this format and your passion for what you create. It’s an amazing aesthetic and I’m really inspired. I’m pretty new to miniatures but doing a project like this…this video in particular makes me feel I can actually do it with my limited skill set. So much talent!
I like to see the quick "cheats" way of doing this, good tips to put goals within a reasonable range. I don't like the "I need to do this quick" aspect of it, this kind of work is supposed to be relaxing and it should not matter if it takes an hour or a day. I makes me nervous just watching it. (Yes I am recovering from a burnout so I am biased :) ) Also: I am absurdly jealous of what you are able to make. Just wait, one day, with a few years of practice, I'll be 1/10th as good as you!
I wonder if you ever spent any time squatting ? I spent a good bit (over a decade) hopping trains and squatting abandoned buildings in the 90s..and I have wanted to Make dioramas of squats I've been in..just really dilapidated and derelict places..alleyways etc. I remember them so vividly and your channel drew me in because a lot of these dioramas look like those places where I would have a candle going and be painting.
Great work, as usual. Having seen all your videos, I find the last two of them really unique in terms of how they look. The way you master the lighting... So real!!! It´s hard to see the difference with a full size set. Applause!!!
I'm far from trying one day challenges, but I do consider them as a great indicator for one's own proficiency. Did you edit the entire video on the same day as well? One take on the 3D printer/laser cutter/convenience tools: I think as a beginner it's definitely better to go without them. This way you learn the craft and appreciate the effort behind it. Even if you hit a wall with your current tools, you start to get creative find work arounds. After all, crafting is also about problem solving and I deem this a very valuable trait to have.
I definitely didn’t edit the video in the same day, it took a few hours just to get all the final shots done! I agree with you on the tools, but I definitely enjoy what more advanced tools can accomplish in less time
Excellent work as always! Sometimes its nice to use off the rack items - your treatment/aging of them is stunning and really takes away the dollhouse look they would otherwise have. I like this format, and while I cannot say why it looks so good I will say that like many of your other builds I can look at the end product and have an olfactory flashback to some place I have explored. I don't know that I should be thrilled to suddenly "smell" must, mold, and rot but I say it as credit to your work. :-D Also, you have the bestest supervisor to QC the process.
Extremely extremely creative!!!… I absolutely am a fan of your work. You allow me to Learn and create every step of the way! would it be possible to do some horror dioramas? Something with monsters or a very demented, dark…. Gritty feeling to it…🙌🏻
It was really interesting to see you shrink your process down to a day in order to see where all your time goes in your longer builds. Custom pieces do take so much time but end up being worth it in the end when you are going for a certain idea. What a great way to encourage someone new to just jump in and give that abandoned vibe a try!
Thank you Ara! I totally agree. It doesn’t have to be super complicated to get started but there’s always more to learn.
Plus it’s really cool to see how good those prefab pieces can look. I have walked past them more than once thinking “ehhhhh.”
I do like this format a bit more, as it makes it a bit more personable. But either way, I'm going to watch because I'm here to see your amazing skills
Thanks so much! That’s great to hear.
The entire project was amazing, but the black & white photo gave the eeriest touch, perfect.
So glad you liked it!
I prefer to see you building everything from scratch. For me, this is a teaching channel and I want to learn all your techniques. At times, talking less, and showing more is better. Eather way, your work is amazing. You are an inspiration to all of us.
I appreciate that!
I like your narration. It adds a lot.
I like both formats, the voice over and the chat.
Thank you!
Wow, for some reason, the end shots really moved me on this one. I don't know, I felt sad. It was like you could sense the sadness of the house now that it had been abandoned. Great work, as always!
I’m so glad it could make you feel something! And that you like the new format of me talking more. I really appreciate it!
I love the more personal version you are doing today. So glad you are making videos again.

Wow, this was quite different, but gave just as much of an impact as your other pieces. I truly enjoyed this process as much as the others you have presented. I must add that I did enjoy your explaining while creating. Awesome.
I was thinking to myself, dang this really looks like a real abandoned room. Not sure why, but it looks cool!
Thank you!!
Really digging this format.
Awesome, thank you!
My tuxedo kitty is shaped like a potato with feet, too. Pretty cool project.
Haha thanks!
I love how real they look. Well, I know that’s the point of these miniatures. But it just look so realistic like you are standing in that room filming. So so neat how something so small can look big.
I was going to say I love the explanation format of the video before you even asked. I come from mini painting. I find lots of diorama creators have very little to no voice over or explanation, so thank you. great video
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
Random tangent on fabric. I discovered that nylon material, like stockings (with the very thin/fine threads makes for pretty realistic miniature fabric). Don't recall if you've used it before, worth a shot if you havent.
Not sure if I have tried that yet, thanks Knarb!
omg. I love that idea
You are really talented person, and you've got a taste. With ordinary dollhouse furniture you've created amazing and atmospheric scene just for one day, and it fits to your style perfectly! Awesome dude, love the cinematography at the end of your builds
Thanks Shane!
I can't believe you did this in such a short time! Really fantastic work..the end footage was incredible and highlighted just how much detail was in the room. Beautiful. Thank you for this video!
I love this new format! I love the one day build from hobby lobby idea too!
Though i am 100% jealous because we don’t have a hobby lobby…..
Haha, so sorry! It is definitely nice to have nearby
You did great work looks like a real room left to Decay and Dust 💖💖💖💖
wow this looks like a real room, you are so talented !
Thanks so much!
Hey, glad you found a PRETTY PLEATER that I had recommended to you way back when! Looks great!
It works pretty well!
Great video. The only thing I would say is that in abandonned houses the window drapes are the first thing to rot and turn to ribbons. Thank you xx
Thanks!
Very enjoyable. Great lighting and nice low point of view. The subtle "outside" image was well done.
Thanks so much!
Amazing job 🤩I like the new format it feels more intimate like talking to a friend
Thanks so much!
Thanks
Thank you! The lighting was definitely a big part
I loved this, just helps to show you don't need expensive equipment to make miniatures. I use a lot of trash lol like bottle caps and that sort of thing to make what I need
Haha yup! You can get started with anything
Your videos are amazing. So are your sets. The intro shot with your hand in the "room" was a little shocking, because your hand shows the real scale. Remove hand... Perfect scale. Good reference -to-scale shot... Love seeing the cat "help" you,
....and at the best part.... the end... Your photography/video skills? Magic. I adore your videos, can't think of anything you could do to improve them! And.... This shows you don't need to hand make everything, your skills are good enough to make any props, hand or pre-made, look abandoned. Two thumbs up. :D
I really appreciate the kind words!! I love doing this and it’s awesome to hear that others enjoy them. And of course, the cat loves to help!
I just found your channel, and I love it. I loved the room. I like the light coming in from outside and the smoke, fog.
So glad you found me! Thanks for watching!
I think it was nice to see you a bit more! And this turned out really cool, I normaly hate thees cheap miniature furnitures, as I think they look really unreal, but you got them to look so real!
Glad you thought it came out ok! Thanks!
This is very inspiring! I am currently an interior design student and we also do modelmaking. I always loved horror movies and fantasy worlds.
Great work! Thank you for such a good content
Thanks so much!
Amazing work as always 👍
Thank you!

I’m so glad you’re getting something from it, thanks!
This is great, I am fascinated by the creative process so more talking works for me - beautiful little room :)
Cool, thank you!
It's amazing and it looks so real
I very much enjoyed your abandoned room project, and look forward to watching and learning more from you.
I was also immediately struck-during the
parting shot of the room-with the remarkable realism that you created.

Thanks Peter!
This was great. Achievable is relateable. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!!

That's amazing! I think you really made it work. It looked full size to me
I like the new format. I'm always amazed at your creations!
Stunning work sir
Thanks so much!

Thanks for the kind words Crafsman! I appreciate it!
Thank you. I like the new format. I’ve had these ideas I’ve dreamed of trying ever since I first saw the Laowa probe last year, But you are the only one I have seen that has demonstrated that what I have in mind is actually possible. Keep up the good work
The probe lens really does help to get such a unique perspective. So glad you like it!
I'm planning to do a half lived in/abandoned diorama soon and hope it comes out as good as yours. This proves you don't need the fancy tools to make something really impressive.
I really like the new format 👍🏻👍🏻 love your work x
Thank you!!
so wish we got this stuff in Australia !!......Love it !!
Thanks!
I love both kinds of videos--it's super interesting to see your processes for both a quick one-day build like this, and the more labor-intensive builds. It's really cool to see how you approach each project, since they both have unique challenges that are cool to watch.
So glad you enjoy them!
Man...
Excellent job!!!!
I dig these so much!!!!
Side note. Hobby lobby does try to screw the buyers. Lol. Seriously tho.
Watch the prices. I spent around 400 there one day.
The first object in front said 9.99$
The next one behind it priced at 10.99.
Then 9.99. Then 11.99.
I was like uhhhh. Why aren't they all the same price? The lady said they price items on consumer demand.

Great video. Loved the extra talking and explanation.
Thanks!!
Well done, Dude!
Thanks!
I really enjoyed this video 👍
So glad you liked it!
Watching this while constructing my own abandoned miniature. Your work is amazing work as always!
Oh awesome! That’s so cool. Glad you like it!
Great video. The last shot really looked more realistic. Can't say why. Lighting maybe?
Thanks! Yeah, lighting was a big part
Soo cool I love watching all your videos!!
Thank you!

i liked the new format a lot. your videos always have amazing quality.
Brilliant well done.
Very atmospheric.
Might be nice to see some of your techniques regarding the photography.
Superb workmanship.
I’ll definitely be sharing more of that! Thanks

I've done it once before but it wasn't perfect. Have to film in slow motion for it to look somewhat realistic.
Superb! Loved your latest build and was amazed by the level of detail and realism achieved!
Thanks so much!!
This is a cool challenge and you mastered it! :)
Thank you!
I love to see your view!!!! I don’t mind this format either. Voice overs and speaking throughout are just fine. I dont think it bothers anyone really. So very talented. Haha thanks!
Brilliant. It looks really good. Such a good idea to show that you don’t need either expensive equipment or - more to the point- your amazing skills at creating miniatures to achieve great results. Wish we had hobby lobby here in the UK!
Appreciate it! May not have hobby lobby but there are a lot of modeling shops in the UK to find!
Sounds like an interesting technique to try out!
You are a genius
Thanks!
Like this format a lot!
Thank you!
Looks amazing.
Ur art is satisfying...a little bit more fr me...bcz i love miniatures..💙
Glad you like it!
It's always interesting watching someone think their way through a problem or decision in real time, which is something that I enjoyed a lot about this way of you doing your videos. Also, this is the most realistic looking final shot segment so far.
This is amazing man, I like it so much.
Thanks!!
@@AbandonedMiniatures No problem, can I see that you are a ps4 pro owner?
I’m so glad I found you via Ara @Bentley House Minis! I love this format and your passion for what you create. It’s an amazing aesthetic and I’m really inspired. I’m pretty new to miniatures but doing a project like this…this video in particular makes me feel I can actually do it with my limited skill set. So much talent!
Ara is great! Glad you found me!
Awesome build and yes it looked even more real!! New light?????
You might be on to something!
New to your channel, but I loved this video! Thanks for sharing your craft🖤
I like to see the quick "cheats" way of doing this, good tips to put goals within a reasonable range. I don't like the "I need to do this quick" aspect of it, this kind of work is supposed to be relaxing and it should not matter if it takes an hour or a day. I makes me nervous just watching it. (Yes I am recovering from a burnout so I am biased :) )
Also: I am absurdly jealous of what you are able to make. Just wait, one day, with a few years of practice, I'll be 1/10th as good as you!
I appreciate that haha. Thanks!
Applause!!!
Thank you! The lighting is one of the big things I’ve been working on for sure
OOh! I really really love this one!
Love the new format….
Also, using old and new techniques or a mix of that works beautifully.
Another amazing build!!!
Thanks so much!
@@AbandonedMiniatures you are welcome 😊
yes I like hearing the process
Love the new format and your work!
So glad I found your channel, Really makes me want to give this a shot myself!
Definitely give it a try!
Your art gives me great ideas for my project. I think your work is spectacular and I’m always very anxious to see your next creations. Thank you!
Oh thank you! I’m so glad!
You are more than welcome. We are lucky to get to view your filming 🎥 expertise as well 😊
I'm far from trying one day challenges, but I do consider them as a great indicator for one's own proficiency.
Haha, I really appreciate that! I’m so glad you get that feeling from them. But I do have the supervisor to bring it to that next level!
Extremely extremely creative!!!… I absolutely am a fan of your work. You allow me to Learn and create every step of the way! would it be possible to do some horror dioramas? Something with monsters or a very demented, dark…. Gritty feeling to it…🙌🏻
Thanks so much! I’ve done some horror ones and plan to do more!
