    Being hung up on having dialed 123 during a live fire situation was a reality check for me about being responsible for your own security. Your phone is not really a life line. In fact, quite the opposite. It can give someone access to everything about you

      100% brother I was stranded in cauca with popped tire for 18 hours , tow trucks and emergency services said they don't provide service to that area. The uncle of my passenger had to drive 4 hours to help us out, if I had no passenger no idea what I could have done

    Been to both places, Colombia is more dangerous. Reason being is because they’re so poor, more poverty means more crime

    I got married in Colombia. I didn't have any problems (minus getting handed some counterfeit money). A lot of it depends where you go. If you're into the nightlife and clubbing, you're much more prone to run into the wrong crowd.

      Good to hear brother, yes nightlife in any city ups your risk big time

    Mexico is fairly safe in most cities and rural areas. In Colombia, specifically Meddelin, you have to worry about the local people potentially targeting you if you are not cautious. The major issue is guys getting robbed via Tinder and dating apps in Colombia. In Mexico, that is very uncommon. The police can be corrupt in Mexico, usually wanting a bribe. You can pay your way out of the situation most of the time.

    I’ve lived in both of these countries before and yeah, this makes sense. Mexico has crazier cartel shit, an entire pueblo could be taken off the map if one of these dudes up top says so. But as a regular person living your life in Colombia, you’re bound to get tested, even if you stay low key

    Do you ever plan to go back to Colombia? I have been there and had a great time but I didn’t like that I always was on alert for danger. I never feel that way in Thailand and thats the reason I will keep going back to Thailand.

    • @BushidoNomad
      @BushidoNomad  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I will forsure just waiting until the time is right although for long term living now I prefer thailand more

    East Asia and southeast asia are way better than south america when it comes to safety and social order. I dont plan to visit south america anytime soon. It's not worth gambling my life away. Once i experienced Asia my standards of acceptable travel has gone up. I want to walk at night n still feeling safe. Southasia people are also very relaxed and respectful.

    I think its cause in Mexico the power is more centralized. In colombia you have all these smaller groups. I remember talking to a Venezuelan mane and explaining that selling drugs makes his customer base poorer and he should sell something different that won't do that. He was mind blown🤣 I just think the culture sometimes makes people think a certain way but when you break it down. They realize it ain't exactly the wave.

    100% true. I can only share my experience in Mexico. And the daily crime for being robbed is reallly really low and I have been in different places for over 2 years except of north Mexico close to the border
