For doing the rod, if you slit - lengthwise a piece of PVC pipe, would that work? Glue caps on the end before slitting it. Or a cheap piece of gutter? Put end caps on it. I think this would be easiest
If you still have the tape on it. You could spray a clear over it for added durability. Also a scuff sand with something like a fine steal wool would increase durability if done first, and after primer. But bad āss videos man! Love em . Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing!

i have a question for you TfJ did the paint stay on the reel or did it peel off? thinkin about dipping one of my reels but id like to know if its worth it . i can guess that i have to hand laquer the reel afterwords just to get it to hold for fishing . what do you say ? greetings from Sweden !

To hydro dip a rod you could plug one end of a pvc pipe and dip the rod
Creek outdoors you wouldn’t be able to have enough paint to cover the whole rod. he would need a long, flat container and dip it from the side
cap each end of the pvc tube, then cut the tube in half, length-wise. that way, you are using minimal water and paint and space.
U should gloss it so the paint don’t chip and so it looks shiny

If you want to dip a rod just use 3 to 4 inch pvc pipe. You should be able to get it in at least an 8ft section
If you got a two piece rod, it might be a lot easier to accomplish a hydro dip
