Overall, I agree with your point, however saying Steph didn't have his "moment" just doesn't seem right to me. Western Conference Finals: Game 7, a whole season on the line and the Warriors win 96-88 Steph has a a HUGE impact on the game: 36 8 5 on 7/12 from three and 71% TS. The next best scorer on his team was Klay with 21 on top of that Steph had a +/- of +18, showing just how efficient he was. And to be that clutch, have such a big impact and be so efficient on that big of a stage is truly remarkable. For me that's his "moment" , if you say LeBron had his in Game 7 of the finals, then you HAVE TO give Steph the same credit.
7:40..... Thank you Dom for pointing this out. You said when KD got there, they became a super team. So many people try to tell me that they were already a super team before KD and I don't remember ANYONE referring to them as a super team before KD came along.
2019 2nd round and 2019 Finals helped add on to his legacy, I believe. The way he kept the Warriors alive in Game 3, the way he did the Rockets in Games 5 and 6... he's had some dominant performances, especially considering he's dealt with injuries throughout those games. It doesn't catapult him to GOAT, of course, but it's ammo for the argument.
If he gets 2 finals MVPs we can debate him and Magic. At the moment NBA legends even see him as a top 3 all time PG. So if he doesn't surpass magic it won't matter especially with how stacked with talent the PG position is the current era he plays in. Cause he's no doubt the best PG in the league rn.
what is wrong comparing him with Kobe and Bird? Even Curry's prime is better than Bird's prime so it is definitely debatable. I wouldnt put him over kobe but Bird is definitely possible
Okay Dom just a comment. Steph has had multiple big time playoff games, the closing games in the 2015 finals, the game in 2016 vs Portland where he scored 17 in OT. Game 3 vs the pelicans in 2015 where he lead a 20 + point comeback and hit the 2 big 3s that sent the game too overtime. Yes the warriors are usually winning so he’s never had to face much adversity but he’s proven to be clutch on playoff stages
I don’t usually play my league games because it gets boring but what your doing gives me something I can try out that might actually be fun thanks for the inspiration
On his rookie year, he only has kareem..... And got injured...... And played 7 games series.... On sixers..... Playing center position and pg role at the same time... And win it...... And win Finals MVP..... So what now.
The thing is he is getting older, if this was 3 years ago I can certainly say he could do it himself but now he is truly at the peak of his prime. He would need to win the finals immediately if KD leaves that would probably be his chance since he is getting older and would lose whatever is left of his athleticism. He would need to be the best player in the in that one season to be considered just like his 2016 season
For my Curry will be the greatest point guard of all time. I started to watch And love basketball because of him. Thanks to him i wanted to learn more about the game and the other things that has around
You have to realize that Steph changed the direction of the entire league. He almost allowed all of these guard/wings/bigs to take a higher volume and deeper range of threes. Just as he allows KD and Klay to become successful within the Warriors system. It was not to long ago that the shots that Harden, Trae Young, and Lillard would be seen as terrible deep range shots. But Steph has not only allowed then to do so but these players have had great success. I am not saying Steph makes these players who they are or he makes them great, nothing crazy like that. But I have never seen one player given other player so much freedom to other great players to generally take any shot they want. Thats impacting the game.
Magic had Kareem, worthy, byron scott and great coaching... plus Steph has superstar stats.. he’s alot different from the bill Russell argument because he won 1 (almost 2) as the only superstar and has the mvps to show his dominance... steph needs 2 fmvp, or 1mvp and 1fmvp, or 2 mvps to be in magic territory for real
Why does everyone seem to neglect of forget the fact that Steph was so injured in the 2016 playoffs that he couldn't go left anymore? Or do people really think that Tristan Thompson suddenly gained the ability to guard an elite point guard?
The comparison between Magic and Steph is debatable. Haters will used the fact that he played with top players like KD, Klay, and Dray to descredit his legacy but ignore the fact that Magic played with Kareem who was at the peak of his career. James Worthy was one of the greatest small forwards of all time and Michael Cooper was one of the best defenders during the 80s. The Showtime Lakers were just as stacked as the Warriors and had key role players like AC Green, Kurt Rambis, and Byron Scott. Magic in my opinion has a slight edge due to the fact that he has better playoff performances and clutch moments in the finals.
It is true that the lakers had a stacked roster but they had competition, the Celtics, the pistons and 76ers. But in golden states case there isn’t any competition unless there are injuries
Everyone’s forgetting about Isiah Thomas! He was the definitive best player on his team for both his championships, was the leader for all his championships, had more clutch moments, and dethroned both the Celtics dynasty and the lakers dynasty! Name another athlete that has dethroned 2 dynasty’s! Curry’s definitely behind Isiah as-well as magic. At the 3 spot John Stockton is debatable with curry.
No way Stockton can be above Curry imo. He never even finished top 6 in MVP voting and had nowhere near the transcendent impact Curry does. Isiah is debatable though.
Star Boy Yeah, well, LeBron made the decision to stop caring about championships and rivalries when he signed with the Lakers in order to advance his cinema career, expand his brand, and spend more time with his family.
i like steph curry because there is nothing he can’t do, He shoots amazingly from anywhere (including FT), dribble well, gets his teammates involved as a passer, he’s an all around player, but I need to see how he leads a team to a CHIP or far in the playoffs without KD and with an average center. But amazing as he is, Curry has fallen in a pot of luck, won the 2015 finals: didn’t play Cavs at full strength with an even matchup and when they did, they lost in 7 (despite certain game changing/ momentum losing points) the next year. So I hope he proves something next year if KD leaves
He's the leader of the greatest team of all time, and a legitimate rival to one of the greatest players to ever play the game. What more is there to say?
@@lorddj9910 Bro Kareem and Worthy provide much better support over DC and KD minus shooting; Magic was litterally a third option most of the time and just made things happen which is why he's looked at as such a godly playmaker.
Steph is the second best pg of all time due to his accomplishments and how he effects the game with his passing and just being on the floor and how he's transformed the game
I will argue that in 2O16 Steph had a moment in the WCF Game 7 when he hit that "Bang!" 3 (the one you hear the announcer screaming bang 3 times) As time passes, the glass gets more and more rosy and eventually people who tweeted about hating Golden State will gush about having seeing this dynasty exist
C'mon Magic is the perfect point guard. Some people are not aware of how good he was. I mean just the level of leadership in his game is above anyone I've seen since. Steph has probably secured second place leaving Stockton and his records behind him
Why do people sleep on John Stockton so much? He doesn’t get nearly enough attention most assists and steals all time and they won’t get touched in any of our lifetimes he’s a top 2 or 3 pg maybe even #1 depending on who you ask just look at this mans highlights
1. Magic 2. Oscar Robertson 3. Stephen Curry, with a HUGE possibility of being #1 within the next 3 years, I feel when (if) Durant leaves, will prove alot
So much to unpack. I lived the Celtics/Lakers 80's dynasty, and to me you've elevated Magic a bit more based on numbers and moments over reality. Magic gets props for that Rookie Finals MVP, but he went to a team that had end of his Prime Kareem on it! They were a 45-ish win team the year before he got there. He took a good team and made them great. But Magic wasn't as good as Larry that year! Larry won ROY, and the team HE went on was FAR WORSE than the team Magic joined. Kareem won his last MVP during Magic's Rookie season. You try to state that Steph should be penalized because KD joined the team, but KD isn't remotely close to a GOAT level player. Kareem isn't just a GOAT level Center, he is very much arguably THE GOAT, PERIOD. Kareem was the best player on that team for the first 2 of those 5 titles, and Magic NEVER WON a title without Kareem. Steph won without KD, and is THE most important player on that team. I don't get how you penalize Steph for adding KD when Magic was added to a team with one of the few guys ever in History that could be called the GOAT. Magic lost 4 titles, was swept by Philly, and choked so horribly against Boston he was called "Tragic Johnson". Steph had his 3-1 moment, but considering he was injured AND won the following 2 titles afterward, I think he got better. I do agree that he needs a Finals MVP or two, but that's really all he needs to be neck and neck with Magic.
Mekhi Robinson when you say a shell of himself you wouldn’t imagine 24 points per game. Kareem was still a top ten player for a good couple of years after magic came
I just went through all the comments and the fact that no one even mentions Stockton at least in their top 3 point guards ever is baffling, i honestly think it’s closer between him and Magic than people think. Magic has the edge because he won multiple championships whereas Stockton had none, but as a player and a point guard, Stockton debatably the best true PG ever. I’ll put steph after Magic and Stockton, Steph would have to win like 2 championships without Durant for me to consider him to be above those two
A cool idea for another episode is where does Klay Thompson ranks as an all time shooter. For me he is the second best, just because when he lights up he is just unguardable, but it’s close with Allen. Should be an interesting topic
Steph Is definitely 2nd in the pg rankings. His skill set and impact is greater than Magic’s, but he lacks the accolades and moments to surpass him. I don’t think he’ll ever get them either
I don't see how Steph can pass Magic unless KD and Boogie leave. If they leave and Steph keeps the Warriors playing at this same level he will be the greatest ever at point.
10:58 That will never be a thing. People hate Curry so much that they will dispute whatever he does. Even if, to take a ridiculous, he won next year against a Durant/Irving/Davis New York super team with Klay out with a broken leg or smth they're gonna be like "The Knicks had no chemistry yet", "Refs gave him all the help" (>implying Curry gets calls), "Davis had a minutes restriction in game 1" etc etc
Michael Jordan had the biggest impact, people had to wait for him to retire or get old, he is basketball Jesus, but ON COURT, its unanimously Curry. (*coming from a Cavs fan*)
I mean people forget that Magic was really a sf playing pg. he always had 2 smaller guards to play guard on defense. It’s kinda like Giannis, (defensively he is a forward, offensively he is a pg).
I agree with pretty much everything you said here which is a shame because by now he should already be established as the best pg of all time One thing I think gets overlooked though 2014 was the Warriors 1st NBA finals and not only that they were heavy favourites because of the injuries that is a lot of pressure for a guy in Steph Curry who just had his breakout season I can't think of a single player off the top of my head who won the title in his breakout year which is why the wise old head in the team Igoudala got the finals MVP but Steph still had a great series after the slow start So to think they were going to come out and sweep peak Lebron who was like in his 5th finals regardless of injuries was crazy in fact if you actually look at how it played out it went how you would expect it too with the experienced veteran taking the early lead and then the talent proving too much in the end
PERSONAL OPINION: Magic, Kidd, Curry, Stockton, Cousy Curry needs: 2 rings, 2 FMVP, 3 All NBA team, lead in Scoring/Assist 3 season, & 4 All-Star nods to be considered for Greatest
vs Nash; +6 rings, +5 All NBA, +5 All Star, +3 assist leader. winner Cousy. vs Paul; + 6 rings, +4 All NBA, +4 All Star, +4 assist leader. (defense is hard to measure for Cousy, but as member of Bill Russell's Celtics, one can only imgaine the team defense they played.) I said winner Cousy.
This makes me think if kd had those moments you were talking about because some people say he’s moment was when he hit that shot on Lebron but like if he made that or not, they were winning the series no matter what. I love kd but I can’t think of a defying moment. Him being under pressure moment
Dom wanna say you said Steph plays with a super team so it diminishes how great he is. Magic also played with a super team majority of his career another PG we sleep on who was great and had a great team consistently is Tony P I don't think it's fair to hold the fact that the warriors built a great team around Steph against him
In my opinion, by the end of his career Steph will be a top 10 NBA player of all time. I just do not see a majority of people saying "Steph don't deserve it. He was carried" or "Steph Curry was never an all time great at multiple areas and was completely overrated". It may seem crazy but I think it a couple years, Steph will have at least one more championship once KD leaves.
Win a ring without KD or visibly outperform KD in the Finals and win its MVP. He would get it then in my book. And if KD leaves GS needs to shed Draymond and get someone who is actually a third option. His impact has dropped and it doesn’t look like it’ll rise again.
first of all you seem to forget he won ring even without KD... and right now at this moment steph is averaging more points and steals then Kd so don't say curry lost his impact
by the time his career is over he will be the greatest. possibly the greatest team of all time doesn’t really work without him, he is what makes the warriors the warriors. he has also completely changed the way the game is played almost singlehandedly, which you can’t say about many players ever. sure having greats around him lessens his legacy a bit, but should it really if HE is the one that makes 4 other stars play well together? steph will be the goat.
Curry is currently the 2nd best point guard of all time. He’ll need at least 2 finals mvps to pass magic. Then he’ll have 5 chips and 2 finals mvps but without the finals mvps I can’t put him over magic

36 8 5 on 7/12 from three and 71% TS.
The fact that the warriors are a super team affects Durant’s legacy MUCH more than Steph’s
He won the Finals MVPs tho
Voltaire Because Steph drew every bit of defense
Voltaire Steph could’ve won it both years tho. It’s not like he sucked
If we put him over magic than we will have to compare him to Kobe, Larry bird, and more. Curry is amazing but I don’t belive he will pass magic
Believe*
Magic is a consensus top 5 guy if you're putting curry over him you're also putting curry in convo with the likes of Kareem and Lebron
what is wrong comparing him with Kobe and Bird? Even Curry's prime is better than Bird's prime so it is definitely debatable. I wouldnt put him over kobe but Bird is definitely possible
if he win another champ and fmvp
Okay Dom just a comment. Steph has had multiple big time playoff games, the closing games in the 2015 finals, the game in 2016 vs Portland where he scored 17 in OT. Game 3 vs the pelicans in 2015 where he lead a 20 + point comeback and hit the 2 big 3s that sent the game too overtime. Yes the warriors are usually winning so he’s never had to face much adversity but he’s proven to be clutch on playoff stages
37th episode? Seriously? Bro this went far, keep it going, you are amazing.
Anyone know why he took down the creating a legends my league tutorial vid?
was looking for an answer to this as well
I don’t usually play my league games because it gets boring but what your doing gives me something I can try out that might actually be fun thanks for the inspiration
Magic was on a superteam for damn near his whole career... Byron Scott... James Worthy.. Kareem.. Etc
To be fair Ervin Johnson had some hella good teammates
The Copycat Ninja never heard of tragic magic
Magic started his career with Norm Nixon, Jamal Wilkes and Kareem sooooooo yea think about that when bring up the Warriors superteam
Anthony Tanksley you definitely dumb as fuck how does 3 good player compare 5 ALLSTAR All under 29 smh
That rivalry with Steph vs LeBron needs a REAL finale
Star Boy
Yeah, well, LeBron made the decision to stop caring about championships and rivalries when he signed with the Lakers in order to advance his cinema career, expand his brand, and spend more time with his family.
i like steph curry because there is nothing he can’t do, He shoots amazingly from anywhere (including FT), dribble well, gets his teammates involved as a passer, he’s an all around player, but I need to see how he leads a team to a CHIP or far in the playoffs without KD and with an average center.
Dom, back at it again with the great perspectives.
If harden somehow beats a healthy gs, is he instantly above wade in the sg rankings?
About damn time . Was waiting on another barbershop talk
He's the leader of the greatest team of all time, and a legitimate rival to one of the greatest players to ever play the game. What more is there to say?
Chris xO Take in mind the roster he’s had though, he’s an all time great, but he has a luxury a lot of other players and hofs didn’t.
Lord DJ But his “Amazing Roster” is just above 50% without him? I hate when people use that flawed reasoning.
@@nicholaspolen3418 regular season games dont really count since they end up coasting a lot.
@@lorddj9910 Bro Kareem and Worthy provide much better support over DC and KD minus shooting; Magic was litterally a third option most of the time and just made things happen which is why he's looked at as such a godly playmaker.
Fierce They won a playoff series without him wym
I can't wait for Steph to have his own team again and show the world his greatness
Aye keep up the great videos I watch all your videos after basketball practice it really calms me down
Steph is the second best pg of all time due to his accomplishments and how he effects the game with his passing and just being on the floor and how he's transformed the game
I will argue that in 2O16 Steph had a moment in the WCF Game 7 when he hit that "Bang!" 3 (the one you hear the announcer screaming bang 3 times)
As time passes, the glass gets more and more rosy and eventually people who tweeted about hating Golden State will gush about having seeing this dynasty exist
C'mon Magic is the perfect point guard. Some people are not aware of how good he was. I mean just the level of leadership in his game is above anyone I've seen since. Steph has probably secured second place leaving Stockton and his records behind him
Magic played with Worthy and Kareem, lol. Also had Byron Scott and Rambis, etc.
Well magic choked a lot in his younger years but I agree as of right now curry is 2nd to magic
14:53 That’s an open spot up 3
Why do people sleep on John Stockton so much? He doesn’t get nearly enough attention most assists and steals all time and they won’t get touched in any of our lifetimes he’s a top 2 or 3 pg maybe even #1 depending on who you ask just look at this mans highlights
Can't be the best player in your position if you've never won a ring.
1. Magic
2. Oscar Robertson
3. Stephen Curry, with a HUGE possibility of being #1 within the next 3 years, I feel when (if) Durant leaves, will prove alot
Huey Freeman what’s you’re reasoning of Oscar Robertson being ahead
No way Robertson is better than Curry. Hell, Curry is better than Westbrook and Westbrook is just this generation’s Robertson, but more athletic lol.
I have Stockton number 2
@@georgesanchez8051 there's a difference between being greater and being better...
Where the hell is jkid arguably the second best pg
Dope video and great takes.
Magic had more then just Kareem though so it's pretty even
Kareem was old in magics prime all Magic had was James worthy and Byron Scott
Mekhi Robinson he was 32 years old and Kareem didn’t have a quick decline
@@werock2002 yeah but magic was 19-20 when Kareem was 31-32 so by magics prime Kareem was a shell of his self
Magic won 3 fmvps tho
Mekhi Robinson when you say a shell of himself you wouldn’t imagine 24 points per game. Kareem was still a top ten player for a good couple of years after magic came
I just went through all the comments and the fact that no one even mentions Stockton at least in their top 3 point guards ever is baffling, i honestly think it’s closer between him and Magic than people think. Magic has the edge because he won multiple championships whereas Stockton had none, but as a player and a point guard, Stockton debatably the best true PG ever. I’ll put steph after Magic and Stockton, Steph would have to win like 2 championships without Durant for me to consider him to be above those two
Above Stockton? Steph would need five rings and two MVPs for him to be ranked above someone without a ring and mvp? Dude stop smoking.
1:35 actually it was Game 6 of the 1980 finals
A cool idea for another episode is where does Klay Thompson ranks as an all time shooter. For me he is the second best, just because when he lights up he is just unguardable, but it’s close with Allen. Should be an interesting topic
Did Dom delete some video about 2k league?
Really liked the myleague part. Hopefully you do it more.
I heard this was coming, I love these topics
Keep doin the myleague! Love it
Steph Is definitely 2nd in the pg rankings.
Love this my league, id watch this by itself
10:58 That will never be a thing. People hate Curry so much that they will dispute whatever he does. Even if, to take a ridiculous, he won next year against a Durant/Irving/Davis New York super team with Klay out with a broken leg or smth they're gonna be like "The Knicks had no chemistry yet", "Refs gave him all the help" (>implying Curry gets calls), "Davis had a minutes restriction in game 1" etc etc
He's made a bigger impact on the game than any other player ever has. by the end of his career he definitely will be
Opinion or fact 🤔
Kayman234 not true
@@anubis4032 definitely an opinion lol
@@mimeblood4 ik but he was saying it like it's a fact 😂
Michael Jordan had the biggest impact, people had to wait for him to retire or get old, he is basketball Jesus, but ON COURT, its unanimously Curry. (*coming from a Cavs fan*)
I've been binging your videos for like a week now. Easily the best NBA TH-camr 💯
I mean people forget that Magic was really a sf playing pg. he always had 2 smaller guards to play guard on defense. It’s kinda like Giannis, (defensively he is a forward, offensively he is a pg).
Magic jhonson also choked in the finals but he still came back and won championships
Steph changed the league.
Where can I find the rosters
Still crazy that you actually singled out my comment lol, still grateful for that
I agree with pretty much everything you said here which is a shame because by now he should already be established as the best pg of all time
One thing I think gets overlooked though 2014 was the Warriors 1st NBA finals and not only that they were heavy favourites because of the injuries that is a lot of pressure for a guy in Steph Curry who just had his breakout season I can't think of a single player off the top of my head who won the title in his breakout year which is why the wise old head in the team Igoudala got the finals MVP but Steph still had a great series after the slow start
So to think they were going to come out and sweep peak Lebron who was like in his 5th finals regardless of injuries was crazy in fact if you actually look at how it played out it went how you would expect it too with the experienced veteran taking the early lead and then the talent proving too much in the end
PERSONAL OPINION: Magic, Kidd, Curry, Stockton, Cousy
Curry needs: 2 rings, 2 FMVP, 3 All NBA team, lead in Scoring/Assist 3 season, & 4 All-Star nods to be considered for Greatest
Kidd above Curry?
@@NM-ev7pu I value all around play, Kidd is the better all around player; that's why I highlight it as opinion.
Kipple 1998 bob Cousy is laughable bro Stockton nash cp3 all better than Cousy so is curry
vs Nash; +6 rings, +5 All NBA, +5 All Star, +3 assist leader. winner Cousy.
vs Paul; + 6 rings, +4 All NBA, +4 All Star, +4 assist leader.
What happened to the MyLeague video?
Dom can u do a video now about ur opinion on Steph?did they change after this season?
I know this video is old but damn with Durant out in these playoffs curry is showing out
Stephen Curry: Contact Mode
You should stream some of these games
People forget Magic's team was stacked too, they were just not a "no question they'll win" team.
Dom wanna say you said Steph plays with a super team so it diminishes how great he is. Magic also played with a super team majority of his career another PG we sleep on who was great and had a great team consistently is Tony P I don't think it's fair to hold the fact that the warriors built a great team around Steph against him
He said that in the video
This channel is better than your main
Magic, Stockton, Oscar, Nash and Curry are imo the 5 best PG's of all-time. Magic obviously number 1.
I would put CP3 over Nash Stockton
What’s the roster called for your my league? I’m tryna play this shit too it looks fun as hell 😁
I really want this video yesterday when you mention it but today is fine
Brandon Edwards he already has a ring without KD 😂😂 only obstacle is a finals MVP
first of all you seem to forget he won ring even without KD... and right now at this moment steph is averaging more points and steals then Kd so don't say curry lost his impact
He won a ring without KD and went 73-9 and won the Unanimous MVP. Tell KD to win without Steph
by the time his career is over he will be the greatest. possibly the greatest team of all time doesn’t really work without him, he is what makes the warriors the warriors. he has also completely changed the way the game is played almost singlehandedly, which you can’t say about many players ever. sure having greats around him lessens his legacy a bit, but should it really if HE is the one that makes 4 other stars play well together? steph will be the goat.
What about Steph getting credit for keeping it all together. Look at this Warriors team without Steph they wouldn't be winning titles.
Dom we gone talk about at 13:27 Magic having 23 and 23
Don’t forget about that year wen curry td up on the pelicans wen he hit that corner shot in the playoffs
Kevonte Snop pelicans were an 8th seed so stop
Curry is currently the 2nd best point guard of all time. He’ll need at least 2 finals mvps to pass magic. Then he’ll have 5 chips and 2 finals mvps but without the finals mvps I can’t put him over magic
3rd, I'd put both Magic and Oscar Robertson over him, at least for the time being
He is
I would like to know the teams you included in your customized MyLeague. Keep it up Dom
He would need a lot. People forget Kareem was also out of his prime for like his whole time with Magic
Steph,Boogie,Klay,Draymond
VS
KD, AD, Kyrie
2020 NBA Finals would be tha shit
People forget that magic had an all time great team as well
Ok here's another question who's the greatest small forward not named lebron kd or Larry bird?
RIGHT ON TIME
Why is Chris Paul on the 06-07 Cavs?
At 15:22 we gonna act like magic wasn’t trying to prove u wrong with that 23-23-9 game
6:56 damn
