I never met Mr. Croce, but I have met Mrs. Croce and the stories she told me of Jim give me the impression of a wonderful man, loving husband, and dotting father. It almost seems unfair how great people like Jim Croce are taken from us so prematurely. Then we have to remember that he left a legacy in both song and life that ensures he will live on; in our hearts and in our memories. But it sure would be nice to have heard the rest of his songs.
I love Jim, but sometimes I can't listen. My Uncle who worshiped him died young and was a great songwriter as well and played so many of Jim's songs to me when I was a kid and sometimes it is just too hard. My dad died young also and loved listening to Jim. Sometimes it brings me back to that time, and other times, it just makes me miss them too much.
+stephen geraci I can sing them for you Stephen. I never really did have many who appreciated Jim like you people do. It makes me feel as though all the years I spent learning and re-learning Jim's songs was worth it. Thanks for being a fan.
+stephen geraci Stephen Jim's music means everything to me, I can relate to how sometimes you can't listen. I first discovered Croce when I heard time in a bottle the day my mum pass away in 1980 and I have listened to his music ever since
+stephen geraci I understand Stephen. I too Recently lost my Dad to cancer. He was 79 though, so I got a chance to have a Dad, but I can still relate to the loss. Also, I can relate to the love of Jim's music. He died when I was in High School. I never learned his songs though, until MUCH later. When I did finally get all the way in to the music, I found it to be my calling. I even look like him; A LOT! And get this, I ALREADY OWNED that SAME Jeans jacket that Jimmy wore, with that same CAT patch on the front. I didn't even know he wore that jacket, until I saw the picture, long after I bought mine. Weird, eh?
I had the privilege of seeing him in 1972....absolutely soulful composer/performer. One of my all time favorites!!! We can only imagine all the wonderful music that died with hi.☹️
Thank you so much for all of these Croce songs. I grew up listening to them, and have always loved them. They are completely timeless. There's never been and never will be any one close to Jim Croce.
I wish more younger people felt like you do....todays music isnt really music.....its mainly garbage! I was your age and younger when alot of these great songs were first heard. They will stand the test of time, as long as people like you take the time to notice! God Bless you for your comments!!
after all these years when i hear this song it still brings tears to my eyes as it reminds me of only one person.. my best friend who was killed in a motorcycle accident when we we were 17
Thanks for sharing that Stephen. I feel the same way too. 30 years I have been sad because of the terrible tragedy of what happened to Jim and Maury. That sadness will never leave me, unfortunately.
Love him always will. His honest lyrics still touch my heart and take me to a simple time with friends no longer here. I laugh ,smile and cry and its ok .
Good music doesn't age. People still love Mozart, and he was nearly 300 years ago. If "young" people want to enjoy the music I enjoyed as a boy, let them!
Its crazy that these rockstars didnt O.D. or commit some crazy stuff that led to their demise, but a cause of a plane crash. Jim Croce, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Randy Rhoads, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, RIP.
Perhaps people thought I was insulting Bieber, Miley Cyrus, etc., but I was not. I was not making an old person's rant against the newer music, just saying that younger people, who frequent youtube, go to videos by Bieber, Cyrus, etc. rather than Croce and other singers from the 50s, 60s, and 70s.
@ChicagoSouthDan im 22 and i hate todays music... i love classic rock (60s 70s 80s ) so do all most of my friends.... its not that young people tend to gravitate toward that new crappy music, its just that they have never been exposed to the older great great music that was played 30 to 40 years ago... ill tell from experience though, once you are exposed to classic rock you never go back...
@NiccoloRamacciotti TH-cam tends to be a young person's medium. Although there are younger people, like yourself, who like Jim Croce, most of his fans seem to be people who were around when he was. I'm 59. The younger people who frequent youtube tend to gravitate to Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, etc. If Bieber, Cyrus, and others come up in conversation, I would not trash them. Just mention that Jim Croce is good as well, and the other person might want to give him a try.
I'm not sure why my comment received "too many negative votes". Usually, when you receive negative votes, it's because you are insulting the singer, saying something racist, saying something insulting, using a lot of profanity, etc. I was doing none of that. Perhaps people did not like me saying that youtube tends to be a young person's medium. Maybe someone could explain why they gave my comment a negative vote.
Stephen Hardy it makes a difference because it shows generations are passing this great art onto others. Doesn’t have anything to do with being ‘’cool’’ give me a break dickhead
I’m the only 14 yr old obsessed with this guy. I even bought vinyls and record player just for him
I’m 23 and I’m obsessed with him. It blows my mind you are into him at 14!!

I'm 15 and Jim Croce is my favorite artist.
+Willyumer you got good taste kid!
+stephen geraci thanks man :D
yeah dude same here
Now you're 18
Well, now we're the same age and like the same singer. But the difference is I went to the same high school as him.

Mort Thomson Jr. Would love that Mort! Do you have any stuff on You Tube.
+stephen geraci Stephen Jim's music means everything to me, I can relate to how sometimes you can't listen. I first discovered Croce when I heard time in a bottle the day my mum pass away in 1980 and I have listened to his music ever since
Sean Okeeffe Awesome Story. Thanks for sharing that.

I have always loved his music. I had his records and sang his songs by heart at the age of 9. I cried when he died. I will never forget you Jim.
I had the privilege of seeing him in 1972....absolutely soulful composer/performer. One of my all time favorites!!! We can only imagine all the wonderful music that died with hi.☹️
This is one of his one t of his songs that kind of got missed by the "Greatest Hits" compilers but I think it is a top contender
Timeless classics
He was God sent, and returned home much to early! He sang my life stories!
None like him, he touched many of our past feelings. Gone way to soon!
Thank you so much for all of these Croce songs. I grew up listening to them, and have always loved them. They are completely timeless. There's never been and never will be any one close to Jim Croce.
Great Jim Croce!!! Some of us will never forget.

Sadly seems like young people scoff at meaningful music like this. Rap is their genre
Yes, all great songs. I see his widow, once in a while here in the San Diego area.
Lo conocí hace poco ya soy fanática de su música cuando fallecieron yo tenía 13. Años
thanks for your kindness.we love Jim too.
Thanks for sharing this. I never heard this one. Never get tired of hearing Jim n Maury.

Pretty underrated one, thanks for sharing!
Comfort music for the past 40 plus years
Jim was such a god damn talent. Gone way to soon.
Hrtmike...thanks so much for your contributions
Al
Recognition for Maury and his guitar and backing vocals please!
This one is so good
I love Jim Croce
Nice! Thanks for this.
He made 3 albums; imagine if he only had made 1 or 2.
We should count ourselves lucky.
5 actually, first and second was never got into mainstream
memories can be friends~~ love Mr Croce
thank you for posting this! :)
RIP jim croce...missed ur songss
Its crazy that these rockstars didnt O.D. or commit some crazy stuff that led to their demise, but a cause of a plane crash. Jim Croce, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Randy Rhoads, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, RIP.
2019!
I have been listening Jim Croce since I was 10 years old in the early 70s .I still play his music often.never get tired of it
There is a lot more music from him now because we love him...."Jim Croce" Recently.
i agreee music was good back then
Had this on 8-track...

@MrJamsha14 Your youtube page lists your age as 46 rather than 22, so you need to correct that. However, it's nice that you like classic rock.
Totally agree brother!! Hope you are doing well peace 🤝✌️

@ChicagoSouthDan lol my bad man not my account but you get my drift
Like so many great artists just beginning to bloom -- Croce died way to early. Just think what would we listen to...

how long will people continue to post their age thinking it makes them cooler that they listen to old music? seriously.
Stephen Hardy it makes a difference because it shows generations are passing this great art onto others. Doesn’t have anything to do with being ‘’cool’’ give me a break dickhead
Why the negative votes? nothing controversial here
