Y'know, except for the fact that, sometimes, when you land on a Bowser Space, Impostor Bowser can just straight up destroy the roulette and automatically steal a star from you (or all of your coins if you don't have stars). I'll admit that the first time I saw it happen it actually scared the living HELL out of me, but after that, it just becomes frustrating, and not exactly in a fun way either: losing a star due to the Bowser roulette stopping on the option because of your own input is one thing, but losing a star (or God forbid, ALL OF YOUR COINS) to something that's completely and utterly out of your control is straight up bullshit
You are like the only person that seem to not like unlockables. Unlocking stuff is good, it makes so that you are rewarded, as you spend time playing the game. Most people wants to unlock stuff in a game, its a way better system than having everything available to the start and/or having to wait months for new content to be added in free updates.
Unlocks are good for most games but not party games, you’re popping the game in with friends to have as much fun as possible, locking stuff generally takes away from that
@@drdudeskimario party has always had unlockables though, it's a series staple and it encourages you to engage with the game's other content to unlock more content I didn't like how it was done past mario party 9 but I think how jamboree does it is great honestly. Yeah its a party game but people can play it outside of a party setting for the fun of it
Bro Jamboree sucks like no one likes playing with Joy-Cons, they are too small and buttons are too small and the drift is horrible and downright inaccessible for those who use it, and Jamboree requires the Joy-Cons for most of the side content and some minigames, and speaking of minigames they are just mediocre and bad compared to Superstars that they had to use returning minigames to fill in their already horrible selection of minigames and it STILL didn’t make a difference, the only two good things I’ll say about this game is the more boards and more characters that’s it, more boards is just two more boards more than Superstars, wow BIG difference 🙄, and honestly who really cares about more characters like cool I guess…? But anyway I hate that people like this game when it really just has bad minigames, bad controls, most of the side content is locked for those who have drifting Joy Cons and that it takes FOREVER to finish a game compared to Superstars

Jamboree is my favorite Mario Party game. The only Mario Party games I've played though were MPDS and MPJ. The non motion control games are still really fun, and I really enjoy playing with a Pro controller.
You can certainly tell the Star Rush style play of Partner Party was originally intended for the main party mode but got changed to the classic style late into development hence the grid like boards

I think Superstars has some great classic mini-games, but most the boards feel mediocre to me, and as someone who plays with friends very frequently I appreciate that there’s more boards in Jamboree, more gimmicks that make boards unique, and much more chaos. Superstars is certainly good and alright to play every once in a while, but Jamboree just hits the right notes for me, I’ve already surpassed my Superstars playtime and it’s not even close.
The issue here with Super Mario Party Jamboree is that none of the cons you suggest are game breaking or even inconvenient at that. So there’s more content. Sure, I would prefer 5 more boards over the side content, but it’s better for marketing to have side modes. King Bowsers Keep isn’t even that hard to unlock, just play all of the side modes. The singular joy con only ads like 15 minigames, about half of which aren’t even worth playing most of the time. Some people like myself like motion controls
Honestly I'm having tons of fun Jamboree, The only board a actively is dislike is Goomba Lagoon cause getting stuck is super annoying. Otherwise I like everything else, I just turn off motion minigames so no bother, could they have just adjusted them a bit for pro controllers or just no motion control, yes that's a little annoying but whatever. I've been having a lot of fun playing Online with Koopalathon and Kaboom squad, my only complaint is why can't why can't you play Koopalathon and Kaboom squad with two - four players on the same console, like have they never heard of split screen. Otherwise I'd say this is slightly better than Superstars imo, just glad they can finally make a good original Mario Party.

I personally disagree with you and believe you need to do a little fact checking on some of your scripts (e.g. you said you can have as many partners as you want in super when the limit is 4 etc.) i think the video is well presented and your thoughts are presented well I overall disagree, i feel like jamboree has more merit to me personally because firstly the game is mostly original with original minigames, boards and modes and while i dont care for the side modes they are a good addition for some shorter games with kids Superstars while having a superb collection of minigames and an alright collection of boards It really comes down to the fact that every board apart from maybe birthday cake and tropical island being better in their original games, and not liking the island or cake that much in superstars to begin with. I personally believe that the board collection we have gotten in jamboree is the best since either DS and 6, i don't beleive theres a bad board, mediocre sure but nothing bad and nothing replaceable by the original game (apart from arguably western land) Superstars just never really did it for me, especially online with the constant pauses between players actions. It might just be because i have access to mario party 1-8 and DS but i dont really ever feel superstars does anything speical more than a way to play the classic boards online and even now you can play the original games on NSO Kinda became ranty at the end sorry
I think super sold well because that’s when they went back to the “traditional” style instead of the car stuff they had been doing with 9 and 10. Plus it was the first Mario party on switch, for people who don’t know the difference between the game they are going to buy the first one that comes out for switch and not see a reason to buy any other.
Also I don’t think side modes sell copies, anyone who buys Mario party are buying it for the main game mode. Side modes are neat for getting people to put in extra time into the game put people are buying it for the side games. You don’t buy Mario kart for battle mode and you don’t buy smash bros for multi man smash. You can play them for variety but you aren’t buying the games for them

Yeah massively disagree with you on Jamboree. It is easily the best Switch Mario Party game and pretending otherwise just feels like being an edgy contrarian just for the sake of being an edgy contrarian. Also, a lot of your complaints towards Jamboree (which come across way more as just nitpicks that you just let cloud your judgement of the game) either feel misguided or downright contradictory like for example you complain about how easy it is to unlock Pauline and Ninji, but then you also complain about how “hard” it is to unlock every single board (which btw it’s not that hard, you can just play the side modes in order to unlock them all oh but wait they’re just “pointless side modes nobody cares about” according to you). Many people’s biggest problem with Superstars is that besides the 5 boards and minigames, there was literally nothing else to do which is why those “pointless side modes that nobody cares about” exist in Jamboree in the first place.
