It's been a while I wanted to try TR8S as a standalone. It is a drum machine before anything else, but it's crazy what you can do with it.
I put lfo on the two synth sounds, setted scatter to momentary, adjusted the settings of low pass filter for white noise (looks like an automation), used some shorcuts like reload kit, step jump, random pattern, mute solo, delay send.. Some I forgot to use but I was pretty happy with this recording.
TR8S usb to Linux pc recorded with Audacity; only a bit of limiter to sound louder.

Another fantastic track. I love how your stuff is so stripped back and clean, you might even say simple - but it’s so damn tasteful. As someone who’s trying to learn how to make music like this I would love it if you could do some tutorial videos!

One I can recommend is Belibat channel who shares so many insights of the beast, and also Unit:E channel (52 tr8s short tutorials videos !) And for all shortcuts, you can just go on Roland support channel. They give you all, really. And if it's not enough, ok, maybe I could do something like I made for mc303 :) Musically yours 🙏

Very nice! Impressive what you can get out of that TR-8S. I dig the minimal approach. While I enjoy the drum sounds on my TR-8, it's nowhere near as diverse as this. Great job!
Thank you very much !! Tr8 is great too, the real drum machine of the serie. I was looking for it first but out of stock everywhere. Drum sounds are a bit more powerful than tr8s.. But I don't regret my choice due to the possibilities it offers :)

TR8S POWER
Nice jam! I was wondering how did you adjust the lfo into those synth sounds? Simply by recording it manually or is there an lfo option?

Thank you !🙏 It's not recording manually. Both synth sounds have lfo triangle waveform, set on low pass filter. Then open lfo settings to adjust rate and depth to taste 😊

Thanks ! I usually have a mixer connected to computer for recording, but for this video, I plugged the tr8s usb to the computer and it was instantly recognized into Audacity 😃

@@jeffreyjbyron one thing i can tell is i used only internal sounds of tr8s here, so you have them all :) some were just improved with internal tools like lfo, reverb, delay, compressor etc ;)
@@krostifmusic That's great. The kick sounds quite a bit harder than the stock 909s, so I'm assuming this is the EDM 909 or one of the "attack" variations. Or it's just heavily compressed. Thanks for the reply!
How are you modulating the chord stabs? Being the owner of an 8s I can attest to how much skill it takes to do a full track like this so flawlessly just on the one device. Nice work, subscribed!

Yes, exactly ! You can also sequence live with this machine, it's very intuitive. Just prepare some kits and have fun !

This is great! Did you pick the chords from a sample kit? Do you use course tuning to play different notes? I love the clean and bouncy sound. Really, really nice!
Thank you! 🙏 I made this jam with internal sounds only with a bit of sound design (reverb, delay, lfo...) I don't think I used coarse tune on this one, tune knob was enough to me but yes you can use it of course :)

Sorry if I'm not clear enough, i don't speak english very well.. I meant, instead of using motion record to make the rise filter on the "white noise" you hear in few transitions, I used filter parameters on instrument edit to make it, like filter attack 195, filter decay 255, filter Enveloppe 255, filter Velocity 10.. Works fine :)

It's an internal sample modulated with lfo on low pass filter :)

@@altur5596 not much chords samples but They're all good. You can also play chords yourself with any synth sounds but you need to use 3 tracks for this :)

It is made with internal samples with an lfo on low pas filter to create movement, a bit of delay and reverb :)
the rise is a sample ?
Sorry, I'm not sure what sound you are talking about.. Every sound is internal, a mix of acb/fm and samples, and reworked with parameters.. If you can "show" me where I play this sound, I will tell you :)
@@krostifmusic the rise is when the white (or pink ?) noise increase at 4mn13; it seems be controled by RC. BTW nice deep house feeling, it give me inspiration
@@yohann44 ok yes, it's an internal sample of a white noise but flat. The rise is made with filter parameters in instrument edit, (filter type lpf, flt reso 7, flt attack 195, flt decay 255, flt enveloppe 255, flt velocity 10..) just adjust each parameter how you want them to act, or you can simply motion record the rise :)
