This is why I think air travel is so fantastic. You get the trill of the engines on near full and with two smooth turns of the yoke, your up hundreds of feet in the air in no time. I always think to my self. 2 minutes ago i was sitting there on the taxi way, and now I'm up here. That's the best take off video that I've ever seen. Excellent job!
Wow, super long taxi to the runway, and that bridge :o For those of you complaining about the taxi footage being too long, takeoff roll starts at about the 19:00 minute mark. I for one enjoy all the taxiying, reminds me of when I used to fly. Haven't been on a plane in decades. Great video as always, Dan.
I thought we were just enjoying a tour of the airport grounds, but at 19:03---lo and behold!---the damn thing starts speeding up then just jumps into the friggin' sky! Amazing!
Yes !!! I´m flying in a week with this queen. My seat is 29A so this was a very nice preview to my seat..just 2 rows behind that. Now I know what is expecting me...
I think the reason that the aircraft has not been selling is because Boeing only offers GE engines. They would not allow Rolls Royce or Pratt & Whitney to offer their engines on this new 747. Everybody went for the Airbus A380 that offers the RR Trent 900 or the Engine Alliance (GE/PW) GP7200.
***** I think it has more to do with the fact that airlines are shifting to widebody twin engine planes like the 777, 787 and A330 because they're more economical and can carry almost as many passengers. Airlines are shifting away from jumbos which is a shame. Even the A380, as famous as it is, isn;t selling as well as Airbus would like. The 747-8i will probably sell better in the future, but as industry trends are showing, it won't do as well as the far more popular 777X and 787
Systematic the great thing that the 747 will always have over other aircraft is that it can be made a cargo plane, passenger carriers will forever go with economic designs, to me the only saving is on the number of engines as the -8 is super fuel efficient and lets face it you could barely hear those engines
Sadly airlines are more interested now in smaller aircraft like the 787,a320-21 NEO for long haul travel for transatlantic travel I knows it’s sad these amazing aircraft have been around for 60 years!! What a beast of an aircraft
I flew on one of those from Frankfurt to D.C. once. It was pretty cool. they actually allowed me to take a look into the cockpit at the gate! there were soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many buttons and switches. Too bad 747 passenger service will be a thing of the past soon. They're such beautiful aircraft.
Thanks for posting this video, its always amazing to me, how two fragile wings with all these flaps can lift a few hundred tons like nothing! The last time I was on a 747 was 1988 on a flight from Baltimore to Frankfurt, so many feelings come back to me watching this!! And watching the wings at landing bouncing up and down was the most impressive on this flight, what an incredible machine this Jumbo 747 is, I love this plane!! Thanks to the American Nation, who first built the biggest plane in the world in the 1970´s! Greetings from Germany!
The 747-8 is the most beautiful plane in the world from the outside, but #2 as far as being a passenger. The Airbus A380 is the best airliner in history to be a passenger in.
that Runway is epic yo!!!! I would sit there just to watch the planes go over the bridge which I had never seen before at a airport.... pretty cool... they also have some of the greenness grass that i have ever seen LOL
A second-generation 747 alongside a third-generation 747. Very cool! Also depicted very nicely here are the often long, circuitous taxi routes assigned to pilots by ground lol.
Holy crap that take-off was quiet, normally you get that scream of sound as they wind up, kinda miss it but at the same time that's impressive engineering!
3x things you will always hear in these airplane videos 1x) someone Coughing 2x) Crying Child 3x) ppl just chit chatting away!!! Thumbs up if you AGREE
what a beaut - long and low - just what's best when flying on a '47 of any type. For those that don't know their Queens, note the absence of the traditional triple slotted trailing edge flaps on the dash 8 series of Jumbo. The outer flap being a single device and the inboard flap being a double slotted section. What a nice way to see an 800 - not many airlines operate them in full passenger configuration, the majority having been built as cargo luggers.
I have flown this flight many many times when I can't get a direct lax-fra flight. Not a big fan of this airport but a HUGE fan of this plane. Nice vid.. I'll be taking some next flight..
I've been on a flight out of O'Hare that took this long roundabout way that used the bridges that cross the access road and 'L' train line to get to the south runway
Alyssa Santos Busy as in runways in 6 different heading directions landing and taking off at the same relative times :) Let's see any other airport do that :)
747-8 have one of the most beautiful wings!!! EVER!!
Eky Prawira Same with 787 and A350

No a380
@@prodICE-tn1ew a380.. meh.. but I do love the sound they are making during the flaps going in and out
The Boeing 747-8 is absolutely magnificent. By far, my favorite aircraft.
Michael B ˊ
Michael B my too
That wing is modern art.
***** wing is barrowed from the 787 Dreamliner.
+CoolPixx23 Borrowed? Those wings are nothing of the same.
+F.N. Haole I personally think every wing is a piece of modern art.
@@CoolPixx23 aaaa
I sound weird while saying this but out of all the aircraft wings I have seen, the 747 8 is like that one crush of your who you can’t stop looking at
The wing design of the B747-8i is not only elegant. It is highly efficient. I just love the curve and flex on rotation.
Nice video Dan!!!
I still fail to understand how anyone could click unlike on clips like these. All i can work out is it must be envy!
They must be Airbus stans.
Very nice. Complete with screaming baby. Perfect and realistic. Thank you for posting.

You're like me, my friend.
That’s the 747 power it’s a very quick takoff

Beautiful wings
I thought we were just enjoying a tour of the airport grounds, but at 19:03---lo and behold!---the damn thing starts speeding up then just jumps into the friggin' sky! Amazing!
Beautiful sculpted wing on the sexiest plane in the air! The quietest aircraft in the sky.
Yes !!! I´m flying in a week with this queen. My seat is 29A so this was a very nice preview to my seat..just 2 rows behind that.

This Queen is just amazing. It's a shame that this aircraft hasn't been succesfull.
Awesome work.
It sure is a shame! Thanks my friend :)

Owen Bailey-Waltz uh-oh! gotta ride those 747-400s before they get dumped
love this queen of the sky so much. just wish boeing is able to sell more of these and so she can stay in the sky for all the years to come.
Sadly airlines are more interested now in smaller aircraft like the 787,a320-21 NEO for long haul travel for transatlantic travel I knows it’s sad these amazing aircraft have been around for 60 years!! What a beast of an aircraft
It's really impressive how straight those runway lines are! Not a single deviation, just like the airplane going down the runway.
Best non-commercial aviation videos on the net
The best 747-8 taxi video!
Beautiful aircraft, beautiful video. Thanks Dantorp.

Best video and b747-8
Awesome as always!!! Little bit of everything in this video!!
That wing is like a modern version of a Michelangelo masterpiece!
Awesome video!!
Its amazing that this 747-8 is capable of lifting more than a million pounds!
One of the sweetest take off ever.. you don’t feel anything.. before you know it, you’re off the ground and climbing smoothly..
Just crystal clear. Absolutely a stellar and beautiful video! Well done. Please please upload more videos of this! :)
I think that's the longest taxi to take-off I've ever seen! Thanks for the video. Enjoyed start to finish.
Bridge view so beAutiful

You probably redefined awesomeness!!!! Excellent video...thanks for sharing...
The Wings are Beautiful
The 747-8 is the most beautiful plane in the world from the outside, but #2 as far as being a passenger. The Airbus A380 is the best airliner in history to be a passenger in.
What a beautiful winglet
Conor...just realx and injoy ur flight... no reason to be nervous !!
Superb video and audio, Dantorp! Felt like I was there. Thank you for sharing ...
Well worth it.... Thanks for uploading such a brilliant video..
Majestic wings, beautifully designed.

That AA 737 looks so good.
SOOOO quiet . Excellent capture as usual!!!
At the very end of the video, I love the color of the contrail coming from the other aircraft above you. Stunning. Love your videos.....
It's got those quiet new motors.
wait, those were on?
too quiet, miss the roar of takeoff!
I've never flown before :( . But this is considered quiet? Not being rude just simply curious. :)
Holy crap that take-off was quiet, normally you get that scream of sound as they wind up, kinda miss it but at the same time that's impressive engineering!
Best 747-8 excellent outclass performer Aircraft
I love the UA744 in the beginning

+turbonetic777 And the *ding ding* before announcements. I sometimes hear that ding in my sleep.
Andy P that's right.. Lol
+turbonetic777 I would rather go through World War Z's iconic plane scene than dealing with a crying kid for 12 hours!
Well, yeah. Sounds like a plane full of people. If it was quiet, you'd wonder what was wrong.
James Idso then it would be a cargo flight 😂😂😂😂
great video
Amazing!

Do you remember what day this was, it's quick possible I was working on board or near that Swiss 330. This brought back good memories...
Klasse Video, vielen Dank. Great Video, thanks
That wing though!
Hi sir i can see why its one of your favourites, that sure was a quiet take off . Thanks for posting. :}
Nice when the flaps retracted I heard no noise of the flaps moving
that was gorgeous
Thanks for posting. I enjoyed this otherwise I would have no idea what it looks like.
Awesome video, enjoyed every minute of it. Great work here!!
everything looks pretty in a 747
very nice vedio
Nice takeoff video from my home airport! Cheers from Chicago!
My favorite aircraft 747-8 just a master piece of engineering.
Wow, the Dash-8's engines are whisper quiet. Nice vid!
My city. Nice video, plane is pretty quiet. Why would anyone dislike this video? Weird!
Had to do a double take on the title and the wing. I forgot these are used for more than freight. Great video!
1:45 OMG THAT WING IS HUMONGOUS
Well the 747 is a jumbo jet so the wings are pretty big!
I have flown this flight many many times when I can't get a direct lax-fra flight. Not a big fan of this airport but a HUGE fan of this plane. Nice vid.. I'll be taking some next flight..
Lufthansa best Airline
Fantastic video, mate! By the way: The new American Airlines livery looks pretty good to me. :)
I must admit, the video is simply stunning. Great work, Dan! ;)
I've been on a flight out of O'Hare that took this long roundabout way that used the bridges that cross the access road and 'L' train line to get to the south runway
honestly, i think wing stop has the best wing in my opinion
The flight crew earned their pay.
Thank you for the video...i like it very much. :-)
Loved it!!
Beautiful video! Well done! :)
fantastic video
Flying on a 747 is on my bucket list. I fly for work and fly often but nothing international so far... Great video though, ORD is my home base!
Great video! My house is under the aircraft on the turn rollout at the 21:50 mark.
Awesome videos!!! Love traveling the world, especially on a plane and sitting by the window. Hopefully, someday I will travel again. :)
Lovely video. Really enjoyed it.👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Beautiful ;)
I hope you had a wonderful visit to Chicago, we will welcome you here anytime :)
747-8 very good😍😍😍
Awesome video!!
Must be a busy airport indeed -it took twenty minutes into this video until the plane finally took off...
Oh for sure! I remember it took us like half an hour to take off.
Owen Bailey-Waltz
Alyssa Santos Busy as in runways in 6 different heading directions landing and taking off at the same relative times :) Let's see any other airport do that :)
You don't know the half of it LOL
I love the 747-8 I really want to fly on it so bad! I flew on the 747-400 multiple times before.
