As a Mom and a Grandma I am eternally grateful for all that lifeguards do. From keeping us safe to showing my 8 yr old grandson how to stop the sting of a jellyfish. Knowing that you are there has made all the difference. My grandchildren are all grown now but even though they are all avid swimmers, they never swim without a lifeguard on the beach. I've been a lifeguard at a pool for 2 years. We're pretty chill, but sometimes I feel like me and this one other guy are the only ones who take it seriously at all. I love being a lifeguard, there's nothing like the satisfaction of knowing you saved a life. I think my next big move should be to try my hand at beach lifeguarding and see if I can't make this a lifelong career :)
Apply to where you'd like to go, Hawaii, Eastcoast of US, another country, or Southern CA. Apply and see if you're excepted anywhere. But you have to train hard for surf and heavy conditions and be able to take the intensity that surf rescue brings. Good Luck.
GO FOR IT IF YOU WANT IT GO GET IT YOU ONLY NEED MOTIVATION Look at me i swam for 7 years and did competition and my mother told me id need a job so she introduced me to being a lifeguards i failed two times the exams but I didnt give up now im a LIFEGUARD

Underwater training is incredible. Nothing compares anywhere.

Dem0manx look for try out dates i live in Cali and hold tryouts every March and usually there walk ons or call the beach headquarters
