Growing up in Canada and having some good flow when I was playing, I never understood how important hair was to my game. I cut my beautiful blonde locks when I was in my Senior year with the University of Toronto, and that's where it all ended. My cousin played in the NHL and he had good flow for most of his career (he's bald now, oh the irony!) I have a new respect for Minneflowta and , in my opinion, this is the bedrock of hockey in the future. The land of 10,000 locks, spam, butter and some above average children. Leroy Delano "Goldy" Goldsworthy is the first native from the salad state to play in the big show. Born in 1904 in Twin Harbors, he won the cup in '34 with the Blackhawks. If you google his pic, the Cobb salad on his melon jumps out at ya. It doesn't look blonde (obviously was in honor of his last name) in the pics, but the locks are definitely Golden. Goldilocks is a better nick in my book. Time to start the Minnesota Hockey Hair Hall of Fame; first inductee: Goldilocks from Twin Harbors. More like Twin Barbers! How about this to wrap up the story? Bill Goldsworthy (no relation) was the North Stars first scoring star. How many of you remember the Goldie Shuffle? His life ended somewhat tragically. He was born in Canada and died in MN. Leroy was born in MN and died in Canada. Leroy's career ended in 1942 and Bill was born in 1944; I'm not sure how reincarnation works, but it's close enough for me.
Jake Zeleznikar from Hermantown should have taken the crown!!!!!! He has been working on his mullet since last year's tourney. Not to mention, he has the beard of a god!!
Pretty sure the mullet was brought back by the 06 Skippers when the whole team had the filthiest mops the tournament had seen is quite some time. Grew their hair the whole season and cut the mullets for sections. The top 10 on that team alone would kill this list.
