- Comment below and let me know.. Why did my rod break? Rookie mistake or was it just bad luck? Huge thank you to Ryan for taking us out on his boat, Daniel for letting us stay at his Air BnB, and Jeff for supplying the gear and knowledge. ON THIS TRIP we'll be exploring the waters 2 hours north and 70 miles offshore of San Francisco targeting Albacore tuna! It's been a while since I've posted, hope you guys enjoy!!

HE’S BACK!!!
Good to fish with you again👊
@@DieHardFishing Welcome back to another episode of Nick Fish
Ive been waiting for this for a while. Good to see ya nick
Thanks for sticking around!!
Welcome back Nick. Congrats on your catches. Most rod broke with high stick. I alway prefer ugly stik rods. They are strong. # 4 #, albacore is one of the most stong fish in the ocean. The fastest in the tuna family.
Wow that's interesting! Thanks for sharing Thuy!
Glad to see you back, hope you continue to make new videos
Thank you Aaron!
Welcome back Nick! What a haul. You guys are the Forest Gumps of albacore - poke albacore, sashimi albacore, sushi albacore... 😋👍
Thanks Alan! Good to hear from you again
My guy Nick! Glad to see another video from you! Going to San Diego in October, hoping to get out in the water before the Breeders Cup! Upgrade on your video skills too; Keep them coming, Bro!! Aloha from Seattle!!
@@michaelunbewust8915 I just passed through Seattle to get to Alaska! Thanks for commenting. Have fun in SD!!!
Some great albacore you guys caught. I am always hoping Adam will bring his yak so he can get a good tow from one of those Lol. As you noticed Adam knows how to sink that gaff into a fish. Great video guys Thanks 👍👍
He is a good fishing partner! Thank you for watching
@@NickFish007 By the way I have a 7ft. Okuma fly rod that I use in a river near my home that I have caught numerous large spotted bass on. It is a quality product and a joy to fish with. ❤
@@DwightPerkins-i7t Yay! That sounds fun
Welcome back, Nick!
Good to be back thanks for sticking around
Tuna Fishing = Tuna Rod & Reel :)
Thank you for watching!
I was thinking to myself about how bad you were high sticking that rod, and 15 seconds later, it snapped. Tuna just reek havoc at times . S**t happens ! Great video and a very enjoyable channel.
@@tonyharris6162 I know my poor rod haha
Nothing like fresh Albacore tuna sandwiches
Yum!
We want more video!!! Let’s go Nick!
Thanks for supporting me friend
The rod thing was a comedy of mistakes... Great to see you, Nick. Hopefully we can meet up for a kayak trip next time. - Mike from Minnesota.
@@parafax Thanks for commenting Mike! See you next time
High stick!!..saw it coming😂😂

@@WhereFishLive I'm only guiding on Wednesdays and Thursdays at the moment. Message me on IG and we can talk about it!
Damn nice fish guys, land-locked in ARKANSAS, im catching 40lbs flat head catfish, tight lines boys
WOW! I'd love to do that someday
Did a double take when I saw this video show up! There was this one sushi chef who prepared albacore shiro maguro nigiri lightly seared with a light light brush of chili oil, was so good!
@@eyeballs306 Thats my friend Taku!

Dude! You're finally back. And that looked delish... Nice work Nick. See you OTW... maybe? lol
Aaron! Good to hear from you buddy. Definitely see you out there!
Looks like a lot of fun. You gotta come to Hawaii. We catch albacore [tombo] ahi, a mile from shore at state bouy. 60-70#ers. 600ft deep. Bottom is 6000ft deep. Most I got at night [ika shibi] 21-22 tombos [2 nites] Tight lines
I love Hawaii! Thanks for stopping by!
Nice video, Nick!
@@mikeconnor5668 Thank you Mike. Good to be back
Hey Nick! Great video and catch and cook! Likely, fighting inshore fish, you can make the mistake of high sticking without paying the price. But, as you've experienced, the pelagic's will teach everyone not to do it.😅
Hah! Totally right
💛...
@@haroldtakahashi8875 ❤
Hey 😍, what happen to the fish heads🤔, I saw a video from a Japan chef baking tuna heads, have you tried it🤔😍😍😍
We normally always keep the heads and collars but this time it was too much fish! Thanks for watching
@@NickFish007 Thanks, I really love you guys 😍😍😍
How far out are you guys fishing? How big is that boat, looks crowded with gear.
@@Ghost7_. Yeah a little crowded! 25ft boat I think. On this trip we went almost 70 miles offshore!
Nick's back!!!
Hey Mike!!
Good to see you Nick. The rod snap was definitely a die-hard problem.
@@timmborden9410 😄 always is
Went on an albacore boat out of half moon bay when the albacore were close into shore
We made the mistake and went north. They were much closer there!
What’s the info on that boat? How do you become sponsored by Okuma?
If you have a TH-cam channel give it a shot! You never know.
Got 20 yesterday
@@We_Want_Money Sweet!!
@@We_Want_Money Congrats!!
Hey! I would like to book you as a guide for Striped Bass kayak fishing in the bay. Are you still doing this?
I currently only guide on Wednesdays + Thursdays but message me on instagram NickFish007 and we can talk about it!
Bam! 😋*adding more soy sauce*🤔
Lol
What line set up ?
Where was this ? San Diego ?
Northern California 👍
@@NickFish007 where from half moon bay ?
Why didn’t they stop the boat when fish got hooked up ?
We are trolling other lines for double hookups but I agree we needed to slow down! Thanks for commenting!!
Nick!!!! Great to see you back on!
Hey Terry! Hope you're doing well
Where have you been at Nick?
I work another job now unfortunately due to the change in fishing regulations.. But I always appreciate you stopping by!
where are you catching albies??
@@Tony67032 Fort Bragg area!
Cold smoked tuna for days
YUM
Trolling with a live bait rod. Paid the price.
@@davidhall1779 Thanks for your comment!
Damn, killn dinks, ARKANSAS STYLE LOVES Y'ALL, what happened to the size of albacore in cali,
Thank you for watching!
You got penalized for High Sticking 😂.
@@terryhazama201 100%
Where have you been ??? Are you Alright ?
I'm ok! Thank you for thinking about me, hope you're doing well
Total high stick. It happens to all of us at some point if you fish a lot. I’ve done that at least 2-3 times myself .
Thanks for commenting friend. Tight lines!
You exceeded the strength of the rod, cuz you were still in gear and moving a little fast. If you were in neutral, youd have a rod and a fish/ Keep On!
Thank you for the tip!
That was all high sticking. You can not have the pole and the fish 180 degrees opposite each other. The other reasons are just additional errors.
Thanks for the comment!
Chicken of the sea
Yum
God I bet that poke is delicious
Thank you for the comment friend
You make me hungry
Hungry boy
you need to crank the reel if you want to get the fish closer, not pointing the rod up, that is my take. Also there are too many lures getting in the way, I just use a cedar plug, works every time. Albacore for poke, that is not ideal, you need a Bluefin. But seems like you guys had fun time. I personally don't like albacore, texture like chicken.
@@yued9898 Albacore is so good when it's fresh! Give it another try. Thanks for your input on the rod! The swivel didn't let me reel in more but I should have handlined the fish in instead
@@NickFish007 Your line is too long (swivel to the hook).
With an undersized rod any time you pull past horizontal......You're in the danger zone
100%
Nice to see you resurface. Sorry 'bout the rod, thanks for the video. Are you still guiding...
Yes I am, you can contact me on Instagram NickFish007! I'm only guiding Wednesdays and Thursdays at the moment
Please please, switch off the clickers…..
Them clickers are sick wake up noise tho
Thanks for the tips
Moving too fast when bringing in Albacore is a no no! Slow down to an idle or just slid.
dam i thought the caterpillar mustache salmon boys got you at the DOCK
😛
Why don't you or Adam do any catch clean and cook videos???????😮😢
@@jamesaragon1825 Its a ton of work especially when we have to deal with kayaks and gear afterwards lol
man everythings a damn commercial nowadays. Over it, I just want to watch people fish, not watch ads.
Thanks for the tip! I will keep that in mind
THAT CHEAP OKUMA SHIT!
They are my #1 choice everytime!
Fish. You back fishing!
@@jackgalloway8314 Finally!
Aloha. Quite the assembly line there.
@@adamyoung480 Yes. Hawaiian style!
what a shitshow of gear and rods in the way
Thank you for commenting!
Most rod breaks are the result of some impact damage. Glass, fiberglass is very susceptible to some types of impact. Hence BB guns taking out car windows.
So maybe there was a small break already? Thank you for the comment
"Comment below and let me know.. Why did my rod break? Rookie mistake or was it just bad luck?"
okuma sponsored... for five years... let that sink in
If I manufactured fishing rods, I'd want everyone to fish like that too
Thank you for watching!
Seeker rods the way to go.
I like Seeker too but my favorite is Okuma!
An ugly stick wouldn't have broken just sayin 🤷
@@jamesfranklin8811 Okuma is my favorite hands down!
