Thank you for this review I have the unit I can highly recommend. It also does exactly what you said it does.

Hey, David. I’ve lived in the Boston are my entire life.😊 I’ve got the exact same piece of gear, and my experience is pretty much exactly the same. For the price, it’s of excellent quality, and it definitely gave my system a boost in sound quality. Thanks for the fantastic overview. 👍🔊🎶

I like how it says “high-end” on it. I’m not debating whether it is or not I just find it funny that it actually has that printed on it

I have this device. I was about to order another one, and I came across a review that stated that it actually adds EMI to the system. Curious myself, I ordered an EMI meter from amazon. The filtered outlets actually are adding about 10% more EMI. The unfiltered outlets were similar to the outlet. I do not recommend as a filtering device.

Thanks! I like your review! Yes very true must try it first before judge the book by its cover. Sounds like you have a Willsenton r300 tube amp.

Appreciate that! I'm using the Elekit 300B single-ended tube amp and I also use a First Watt f7.

@@thebostonaudiophile hey, im sorry to bug you, im also a guitarist , I just went to a rehearsal using my amp
      (gk 250ml) and effects board.
I tested it all out w same guitar and was getting a bunch noise thru the amp.
Especially when using the fx board, so had to bail on the fx board n just plug in to amp directly. It improved by 90%.
I know its not my rig and even double checked all the connections on the fx board (tuner/eq/synth9/space echo).
Almost positive its electrical issues in the garage.
So I am looking for something to solve this immediate issue and also eliminate any potential issues playing live as well.
Could you recommend this featured product as a good solution or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Most, if not all of the "improvement in sound" is simply a placebo effect even though "audiophiles" could swear by it 😅. A noise filter is just that, an AC line noise filter, not a hifi equipment sound improvement device.

I had tried more than four different brands of power filters( including emotiva). Now I have three these filters and two more expensive one. Yes, I know I overdid some. Luckily I have at least one system in every room in my house.

I got a puritan psm156 and it absolutely demolished my waudio. Also gave the waudio to my buddy who has puritan and he said it made his system sound so bad he didn't want to listen.
Granted the puritan is 10x the price.

Saw the Zero Fidelity video as well but to be honest I saw a tear down of it on TH-cam and it looks very very unimpressive on the inside. Built well but barely any circuitry inside of it and what’s there looks to be low grade components. Thanks anyway for the video

Yeah, this added measurable noise to my system. Not audible, but measurable with an EMI meter added 10% noise in the filtered outlets. Ironically less on the regular outlets. This is not a good device and I do not recommend it.

Hey David, great review I have the same unit. I found out pretty much the same you have, but for some reason my dac sounds better when I put it in the black receptacle instead of the filtered and I have one amplifier that does not like the red receptacle either go figure lol thanks for showing me the inside I was wanted to know what it look like.

@@stephencosta6814 It sounds like you're experimenting and keeping an open mind. Bravo! I can't explain why some of your components sound better with certain receptacles, but obviously keep trusting your ears.

Errr, these things have been scientifically debunked. The moment the AC gets turned into DC, all the AC noise is gone. It's good engineering.

    • @thebostonaudiophile

"The AC noise is gone", I don't think so, but I've got no energy to debate this.

do a simple test for me if you can. take a low voltage ac detector and hold by the usb line/charger connected to your pc, and then do the same thing to ur run of the mill usb charging adapter. what you will find is that it will like up/flash slightly with the wall adapter but not ur computer usb output. you can google and find out why but my point is that simply going for ac to dc doesn't make the power all clean as u might think.

    • @DescartesRenegade
      @DescartesRenegade 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@SnugMast3rFlex the AC transformer is inside of the USB wall charger... that's probably why it would light up. You're close to AC! The USB outlet is pure on the CPU is pure DC. :/ #think
