Fresh fruit, veggies, meal worms, they all need to be added to Charlie's diet. Dry food is fine but you'll make him/her tamer, answer to their name and a lot calmer.
Try adding red grapes, cut in half, and cherry tomatoes, also cut in half.
NUGGET at Cog Hill 40 likes those for his treats.
I believe Jason & Brooke use a special food for Nugget.

I must say that Daniel has the best way with the animals. They just love him. Houston is definitely following in his footsteps and Houston always looks great for the camera. Quite a handsome boy.

Some caterpillars are poisonous, some have poisonous spines. I wouldn't let my dog eat it.
Enjoy every minute of the kids’ games. It goes by so fast! I miss my sons being in sports just about all year long. I now have an almost 1 year old grandson and another grandson coming in September, so I’m sure I’ll be able to enjoy them and their sports too. Love your videos and your family! ♥️

Dr. Pol owns emus and has had them a long time. He has said in the past, the more you handle them the better they will behave. It might be good for Houston to watch some videos about raising and handling emus because once they're bigger there will be different issues to deal with.
Daniel you and Jason are both animal whisperers. Charlie is growing so fast. I hope Charlie has the temperament of Nugget at Cog Hill.

Looks like a tiger swallowtail caterpillar. Charlie knows who's comfortable with him and who isn't. He/she is sure growing fast.
I looked to see if I could identify it. I never could... Either it didn't have the yellow ring, or didn't have fake eyes or wasn't black. I gave up Googling.
Daniel seems to be the one that bonds with most of the animals. It doesn't matter who claims them.
I agree. Daniel is the animal whisperer of AFH. Animals are a good judge of character. DeJay's the donkey whisperer. They especially love her when she has a big bucket of treats.
Animals sense when a person is not comfortable around them. DeJay is around some of them and they definitely know it. Daniel is comfortable with all of them. 🤗
@@sherylhypes6290 Dan spends more time talking to the animals and has a warm personality. DJ couldn’t be bothered and they know and feel it. Even her prized mini donkeys are an annoyance to her.
@@jenniferpinto7044 you couldn’t be more wrong about DeeJay. She loves her donkeys. As for the birds, she doesn’t like them and I get that. Not sure I would feel warm and fuzzies for the birds.
@@jenniferpinto7044 I can't say that I agree with you. DeJay has always admitted that she's not a bird person. Don't forget how aggressive Ralph got with her every time she was near. She hasn't ever been mean to any of the animals that I know of since I have been watching AFH. Daniel is soft spoken and gentle by nature, but he and DeJay compliment each other. I think they are great together and I like how they make everything work as a team.
Charlie is growing fast! I'm glad he/she is letting you pet him/her! It was fun seeing the animals after dark, especially where all your birds like to roost. My step-daughter played fast-pitch softball all through high school and she loved it. She was a pitcher also.

That caterpillar Houston found is a Tiger Swallowtail Caterpillar turning into a Tiger Swallowtail Moth. I learned about moths in my biology class in middle school, I always remember the ones that turned into the prettiest Butterflies. 😊
I went through those long days of games and practices with my kids and now with my grandkids… but I’m blessed to be apart of it❤️

While watching this video I was surprised that you get dark so early there. We have light here (plus dusk and dawn) almost 18 hours (16 hours from sunrise to sunset). I love this time of year here (ND). And, Charlie is adorable.. keep up the good work with him (and all your critters). Love watching you all.
Oyster shells also adds calcium to chickens and other poultry diets. If birds lay eggs which contain a lot of calcium they need the extra for egg production.
By the Way 21:47 the caterpillar is the Eastern Tiger Swallow tail butterfly. If you "goggle" it, you can see they are very common.

I like watching you use that big new machinery. I told my husband that we needed to get one of those big tree eating machines. That sucker is cool. I also like to watch you guys go fishing. The boys remind me when I was little, and mom and dad would take me and my sisters fishing. We fished at the creek, and we fished ALL day long. I might have gripped about it back then, but I think about it now and remember the fun we had fishing. Great memories ❤

Absolutely support kids in the extra activities. 4 kids of my own and we did everything from ROTC to soccer in the summer. Extra curriculars are so important. Same with you as with me, teaching as parents goes far beyond the classroom. ❤
